Resumen
This article is a re-evaluation of the positivist models that have sustained the histories of world photography, from which Latín America has been excluded. Consequently, it is necessary to redesign new conceptual and methodological approaches that give account of our own processes conceming photography. In our continent diere are many images without authorship, many traveling photographers who were spreading tracks at random. The preservation of the memory is necessary and this is the importance of the National and Regional Archive, a place where the multiple realities that bound us to photography are arranged to build this new photographic history of Latin America.

Resumen
The objective of this work is to establish a relation between the institutions that generate scientific knowledge and the images taken by the European explorers to the Indians of Brazil. In the course of the 19th Century, the expansión of photography promoted the development of the evolutionist theories in Europe, mainly through the photographic sets brought from other continents.

Resumen
The creative glance from the feminine gender is analysed, considering the most important group of Chilean photographers: Paz Errázuriz, Mariana Matthews and Leonora Vicuña. Three visions and models of reflection that contribute to the photographic creation moment with their points of view and particularities. The best merit of these three artists is that their images -from the 80's decade- conform a fundamental axis of the imagery that Chilean photography has been producing in these last decades.

Resumen
This article tries to do a first reading of the collection of photographs turned into postcards at iconic and iconographical levels. Those postcards project an image of the Capuchin monks advance, as much on the geographic space as in their `evangelization and civilization' tasks. The texts written in the postcards reinforce, and in some cases specify, the message of the lack of human and economic resources the missionaries required to continue their work.

Chilean photojournalism has outlined a distinctive and authorial language whereas the press has only aimed at the development of technical skills. Nevertheless, graphic reporters have consolidated a photographic language with countless visual metaphors that need to be shown and published.
