The problem of the Mallory Weiss syndrome, origined in postemetic gastroesophgeal lacerations is shown. After copius vomiting important hemorrhages appear for which the treatment is essentially surgical. Two patients treated by suture of their gastric fissure are reported. The second one recovered with this only therapeutics the first one bled throu.gh his esophageal fissure after the operation. These hemorrhages diminished with the placement of Blakemore-Sengstaken Cube, by means of which the patient was saved. The urgent surgical therapeutics have come as far as the total gastrectomy

Intestinal occlusion due to diverticular disease of colon is a rare complication (less than 2 % of cases). Clinical and radiological aspects should be carefully considered.I'hose cases in which subocclusive manifestations or intermitent ( transitory) occlusion are found as part of symptomatology, should be excluded; the same appliesto stenosis without clearly defined occlusion. Cases of chronic evolution may occur. Occlusion may originate in sigmoid colon -2 such patients withinour case material- or more frequently in juxtalesional small intestine - 5 cases. This condition should be differentiated from ileal occlussion which may appearas a resuit of acute pericolodiverticulitis with involvement of peritoneum and possibility of aeroileocolia images, which appear contiguous. Palpation evidences pain and so does decompression. Auscultation indicates abdominal silence and transit does not totally cease. The possibility of colonic carcinoma should always be born in mind either as pause. or coincidence. A patíent suffered from multiple biliary íleus; the obstructive gallstone was located in the íleum and two others in the second portian of duodenum. Perforation of a distended loop and consequent peritonitisi complicated diagnostica} punture. In all cases of biliary ileus surgical exploration of gallbladder pole should be performed only when necessary and not as a systematic procedure.

A penetrating m¡ury of abdomen by an iron spindle with entrance orífice in the high part of the posterior side of the thigh is observed. The vascular and visceral lesions caused by the spindle are described. The possible trajectory of the spindle untill its introduction in the abdomen is ventured, and the extreme rareness of the entrance hole is pointed out.

There is a leiomyoma of the fourth portian of the duodenum, not diagnosed clinically or radiologicálly, which made necessary an emergency laparotomy, anda duodeno-jejunal resection, because of severe digestive bleeding. Post-operatively, a stenosis of the anastomosis made necessary a latero-lateral duodenojejunostomy,with a good long-term result. As a result of· this cáse, a search was made of the literature on duodenal leiomyoma, and the diagnostic procedures used.

They are rare tumors. Sabiston and Scott (9) found a primitive mediastinal tumor every 3,400 admissions at J'ühn Hopkins Hospital. Wychulis et al. (13), in a 40-year review by the Mayo Clinic, they found 1,064 mediastinal tumors.
