Resumen
Our case material for thyroid carcinoma consists of 57 patients and the majority of these tumors ( 83.8 % ) were differenciated. Most frequent clinical appearenceconsisted of non functioning nodular goiter. Surgery was determined by diagnosis and type of lesion: partial thyroidectomy 81 % total thyroidectomy 2.7 % and incomplete resection of tumor 8.1 %. Dissection of ganglia was performed only_ in cases of clinically colcnized adenopathies. All patients with non differenciated carcinomas died. In differenciated cases there was an overall deathrate of 13 % .

Resumen
Case material of our Institute of Endocrinology consists of a series of 60 thyroid cancers. Frequency of disease, most common symptomatology, clinical appearence and auxiliary elements for diagnosis are described. Special emphasis is laid on the importance attributed to cytological puncture and immunological study or Paseyro's test, is fundamental in a large number of patients in order to obtain a precise diagnosis. In this paper we find a review of pathological anatomy, treatment, surgical tactics, operatory accidents, complications and recurrencies in this series, as well as a summary of those cases in which the author himself intervened.

Resumen
A case of retrocava ureter was treated successfully by corrective plastic surgery. This is a rare disease, venous in origin, though its consequences are found in the urinary tract (hydronephrosis). Embriological and ethiopathogenic characteristics, clinical symptoms and radiological signs are discussed in this paper.Association of ureteral contrast with cavography provides certainty in diagnosis. Treatment usually consists it: preservative surgery (transposition of ureter) altroughin incipient cases abstention with periodic control is justified; when evolution is advanced nephrectomy is the only possible solution.

Resumen
Total reconstruction of penis is interesting because of the multiplicity of tecniques and methods involved, demanding resourcefulness and personal contributionsfrom the surgeon . A revision of 9rocedures shows that ali phalloplaEties should persue 3 anatomical goals: reproduction or corpus with mono or bi-pedicled tu bes; urethn•build with tubulized grafts, especially tubulous flaps; and a glans with a sort of coronal furrow and an imitation of prepuce and frenulum in which opensa well-centred and longitudinally elongated meatus. This is aime.d at obtaining free urinary and spermatic flow; adequate sensibility and consistency, permittingintercourse and achieved by means of grafts or muscular implants or transplants which may even make erection possible. In this paper we describe a case of this type ofsurgery the first in our country, in which Kaplan's technique was employed, with additional · stages and technical details that made it possible to simulat prepuce-frenulum and phallus end with glans appeirence and distal central and longitudinal ovoid orífice.

Resumen
The paper contains a rev1s1on of 19 case histories of patients who underwent splenectomy due to splenomegaly, considering as such all spleens with a weightabove 260 grs. Age, sex, weight of spleen and surgical technique were considered. Prior ligature of splenic artery is deemed important since it prevents serioushemorrhage and favours "self-transfusion". In view of the· fact that the first surgical act should consist of ligature of pedicle, the abdominal approach is advisable.
