Resumen
Microspennum gonzalezii sp. n. and M. gracillimum sp. n. are described on the basis of specimens collected in the municipality of Talpa, Jalisco. Both species can be distinguished from the remaining known taxa of Microspermum by the lack of apical appendages of the anthers. M. gonzalezii is a perennial somewhat similar to M. nummulariifolium and to M. debile, while M. gracillimum is a delicate annual resembling M. tenue. Keys for identification of all known species and varieties of the genus Microspermum are included in the paper.

1. Aeschinomene longifolia Cavanilles and AEschynomene longifolia Górnez Ortega are synonyms for a species native to Jalisco, Mexico, which is now included in the genus Sesbania, and must be called Sesbania cavanillesii S. Watson. 2. The type of Aeschinomene longifolia Cav. ( = Sesbania cavanillesii) is the specimen Cavanilles s. n., 1795, deposited in the Instituto ''Antonio José Cavanilles" in Madrid. 3. Sesbania drummondii (Rydberg) Cory is a native of the Gulf coastal plain; it is a species distinct from S. cavanillesii. 4. Daubentonia drummondii Rydb. ( = S. drumnwndii) is typified on a Drummond collection from Texas identified dubiously by Torrey and Gray as "Daubentonia longifolia? DC." 5. Except for Pierce and Rydberg, alI authors who published equivalent names far the Gulf coastal plain species appear to have made the mistake of typifying their names by direct or indirect reference to "Cav. ic. 4. p. 8. t. 315" or "Ort. dec. 9. p. 70." 6. Pierce described the Gulf coastal plain species as Daubentonia texana, which is rejected as a superfluous name.
