Resumen
In the course of current research on Hodgkin's dísease, the authors indicated exploratory laparotomy with splenectomy and liver and ganglionic biopsis, i'n32 patients, 21 of wham had never been treated and 11 presented evolution. In the first group they found modification of the stage established by clinical andparaclinical procedure.s in 13 cases, the majority in a more advanced state than expected, but also (2) in a less advanced stage of the disease. In the secondgroup, active foci were found, which had not appeared when ordinary procedures had been employed. Results obtained in each of the abdominal sectorsstudied ( spleen, ganglia and live.r) are analyzed in this paper and compared with those resulting from élassic procedures. It should be noted that: 1) themajority of splenic lesions could not have been suspected with clinical methods; 2) there was high incidence of Hodgkin-type adenopathies in locations outside thelymphographic area which it would have been impossible to detect by classic methods; 3) this study confirms that Jiver involvement is rare when ther-e is no splenic localization. In view of the importance .of arriving at a correct definition of the stage of the disease for the purpose of deciding upons the therapy to be applied -as well as the fact that splenectomy is the most efficien( type of treatment far this localization- the auhors favour sysematic application of laparotomy and splenectomy far the three first stages of Hodgkin's disease.

The case material includes 4 patients with occlusive lesions in the popliteal artery and arterial trunks of the lower limbs in their proximal sectors. By-pass ofdistal posterior femoro-tibial artery with saphena magna, was performed. In two patients distal sapheno-tibial distal anastomosis was located midway along the leg, and in thecase of the other two, near the ankle. The. authors insist on the ímportance of femoral arteriography, with sufficiently slow focussing to permit visualization of arterial vessels in the leg in their distal segments. Distal anastomosis of posterior fomero-tibial by-pass is preferently located in the upper part of the heelbonesulcus, where the artery is easy to approach and is situated in a superficial position. In three patients the by-pass is still permeable. after 26, 24 and 14 months.

Resumen
Pathogeny of hemocholecysts is analyzed; they may be primitive in the gall bladder or secondary to a haemobilia of hepatic or pedicular origin. In the sevencases treated by the authors they found lithiasis of the gallbladder in all cases and in five of thethere was ohstruction of the cystic duct. Furthermore, in four cases there was cancer of the gall bladder. In two cases hemoperitoneum and haemobilia occurred. The latter does not always appear since often the gall bladder is excluded due to obstruction of thecystic duct.

Resumen
The use of peritoneal drainage is analyzed, evaluating its advantages and disadvantajes. It ,should be utilized cautiosly since it is not inocous. The paper revises its general indications as a guidelíne for particular cases. The advantages of the rubber tube are pointed out.
