Introduction: The article analyzes the situation of students with special educational needs (SEN) who have limited their physical activities (PA) due to confinement, a situation that forces teachers to design new educational practices adapted to virtuality. Objective: To analyze the educational practices of physical education (PE) for primary level students with SEN during the pandemic in the Dominican Republic. Methodology: A qualitative, exploratory, cross-sectional, qualitative approach was used by means of a survey, using non-probabilistic sampling and content analysis with semantic networks. The study consisted of 45 teachers, who provided information on their academic teacher training, student enrollment, methodologies, strategies used and resources of the teaching process. Results: The results reflect the teachers' interest in their professional activity, as opposed to the lack of support from specialists in the classroom and a low knowledge of teaching, methodologies and strategies used from virtuality for PE aimed at students with SEN. On the other hand, most teachers did not use educational facilities for physical activities, technology was used with assistance guided by family and adults at home, especially with group physical activities in family. Conclusions: Academic activities were carried out from home and have been affected by the lack of suitable conditions for an academic space and the lack of technological resources. Teacher training in the area of PE for students with SEN should be promoted.

Introduction: Currently, knowing how to conduct training activities is essential to optimize player training. Therefore, one of the strategies most used by coaches to optimize the training process is to modify the number of players (Game Situation). Purpose: The objective of the study was to analyze the teaching-learning process of a school-age basketball coach, as well as to know the association between the Game Situation and the Pedagogical, External Load, and Organizational variables used that influence the design of tasks. Method: For this, a total of 20 training sessions consisting of 100 tasks, recorded through the Comprehensive System for the Analysis of Training Tasks, were analyzed. A descriptive and inferential analysis was conducted between the variables raised in the research in relation to the Game Situation. Results: The results demonstrated a significant relationship between the variables analyzed with the Game Situation. The way the players are grouped during the development of the training tasks conditions the results of the rest of the variables that define a training task at a pedagogical, organizational, and external load level. Conclusion: These pieces of evidence vindicate the importance of knowing the factors that influence training tasks. In addition, the results show that there are differences in the use of game situations depending on the rest of the variables used.

Sport raises the level of human physical activity within the limits of genetic traits. The results of gene therapy have attracted some to think of using its technologies to create an “indomitable athlete.” World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) applies uncertain genetic testing procedures to establish cases of this type of doping. Yet, if the results of these procedures are doubtful, then doubt must be interpreted in favor of the athlete concerned.

The organization of an alternative catholic party to the Legitimist Party constitutes a problem of historical, sociological, and political scope of great complexity because it involves Church-State relations in a period of confessionalism, the political participation of Catholics, regional or national political representation and conflict, always latent, in the domain of Portuguese political Catholicism. In the 1870s and 1880s, initiatives emerged to organize Catholics around Catholic Associations and a Catholic Union to bring together all Catholics, from legitimists to constitutionalists and liberals. From the 1890s onwards, under the banner of catholic nationalism and a “catholic-political apostolate”, were founded Catholic Centers, the Catholic Parliamentary Centre, National Centers, and the Nationalist Party with the aim of defending the traditional prerogatives of their Church.

The article analyses the Young People’s Society of Christian Endeavour as an example of Protestant sociability in Portugal in the early 20th century. Having its origins in the United States, in the second half of the 19th century, the Christian Endeavor leagues or societies quickly spread to Europe, arriving in Portugal in 1903 by Diogo Cassels, who founded the first League at Vila Nova de Gaia, in the church of Torne, a community of Lusitanian (Anglican) rite. As a particular case study, we evoke the Christian Endeavor League of Prado, established in another Lusitanian church, since the 1920s, revisiting its different mechanisms and strategies of integration and sociocultural animation. We conclude that the Christian Endeavor Leagues functioned as engines of social integration and change, having as their nuclear aim the promotion of the individual, on an ethical level and of personal commitment to Christian faith and religious institutions.

The newspaper Liberdade is the starting point for the analysis of the treatment of World War I in the Portuguese Catholic press. To understand the profile of Catholic periodicals during the First Republic, the modes oforganisation of Catholicism during the regime inaugurated in 1910 are observed, including the processes of intervention in the public space and the mobilization the tends of opinion. The newspaper Liberdade followed the 1914-18 conflict according to the central perspectives of its editorial line: defence of Catholics’ freedom of organisation, concerted action by legal means, military chaplaincies and separation between the spheres of action of the Church and the State. The treatment of the First World War was deeply politicised, with issues that were central to Catholicism during the republican regime being put on the agenda: the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Portugal and the Vatican and religious pacification as a way to internal political stability.
