The incorporation in 1965 of Vicente Zabala Portolés to the newspaper El Alcázar meant the birth of the Essentialist Critical Current of the bullfighting chronicle. A process of progressive radicalization of bullfighting criticism in the denunciation of the evils that have plagued the bullfighting festival since the post-war period (the lack of conditions of the bulls that are fought, the extension of the fraud of cutting the pits or "shaving", the emergence of heterodox techniques in the art of bullfighting, and the implementation of subsidized bullfighting information known as "envelope"). The analysis of this period of extreme radicalism in bullfighting criticism would be situated between 1965 and 2002, with four significant stages that situate the four most relevant authors, 1965 to 1976, in which, in addition to Zabala's voice, in 1967 Alfonso Navalón Grande's voice is added to that of Alfonso Navalón Grande; 1976 to 1989, a stage marked by the pen of Joaquín Vidal Vizcarrro; 1989 to 2002 with Javier Villán Zapatero and Francisco Apaolaza Banastier; and from 2002 as the fourth and last stage in which the current disappears almost completely from the national journalistic panorama. The analysis of these four authors allows us to discover the discursive particularities of each one of them. In the same way, the development and evolution of events within the bullfighting panorama during those years allows us to identify a series of historical milestones that give meaning to and explain a good part of this radical essentialist discourse.

This monograph deals with eight papers on complementary topics that explore relevant aspects of the transformations that the media ecosystem is undergoing, given that, although it is facing a considerable crisis of credibility and sustainability, journalism continues to play a key role in guaranteeing basic values in democratic societies. In this regard, journalistic activity is a fertile area for the development of innovation linked to the dissemination of original solutions to meet the needs of news companies with new products, processes, professional practices or technological solutions that enable them to generate competitive advantages that contribute to their sustainability and to the improvement of the service they offer to users. Accordingly, it should be noted that journalistic innovation does not only cover aspects related to the product and technology, but also the quality of information and its social and ethical influence, since innovations affect organizations, media systems and behaviour in society. With this in mind, we hope that this monograph will encourage the production of future studies that will continue to broaden this field of research.

The praxis of participation in Cuban television production has been limited due to the persistence of top-down and behavioral practices. The expression of this problem is verified in the television production of the spot for the public good of the local television station Centro Norte Televisión. Likewise, it restricts the contribution of the television genre in solving social problems. The general objective of the study was established to establish a system of actions that contribute to the participation in the television production of spots for the public good on the television station. To obtain the results, the survey and the criteria of specialists were used as main methods. All the specialists considered the proposed actions adequate both in terms of being able to and knowing how to participate. The results will allow promoting participation in the television production of spot for the public good consistent with the needs of the territory under study.

Social studies on community development in Latin America and the Caribbean constitute a scientific field that has been little studied and limited. The Eurocentric and coloniality of knowledge paradigms have influenced scientific communication. The research investigation had the purpose of delimiting the structure of the scientific field of social studies about community development in Latin America and the Caribbean. The study starts from a mixed perspective that integrates theoretical analysis with the application of empirical instruments. An intermediate position between internalism and externalism was used from the sociology of knowledge for the purpose of analysis to scientific communication. It was concluded that the analysed field is structured from few institutions, networks and specialized professional associations, showing the predominance of dominant approaches to science, being consistent with the dynamics of self-preservation.
