Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has gained significant attention in neuropsychiatric discussions. Deficits include social communication, repetitive behavior patterns, and a strong association with food selectivity. Due to high prevalence and intervention costs, parent training for managing food selectivity in children with ASD has become a viable alternative. This scoping review followed the PRISMA-ScR protocol and aimed to identify intervention programs based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for parent training addressing food selectivity in children with ASD. Publications from 2018 to 2023 were considered. A total of 361 studies were found, with 12 included. Studies using regression analysis showed reductions in disruptive behaviors, though few reported increased food acceptance. Significant gaps in the literature highlight the need for more robust randomized trials.

This study carried out a scoping review on gaslighting in intimate relationships, with the aim of analyzing how the scientific literature has studied the phenomenon in adults, without restricting the studies according to sex, gender identity or the type of affective relationship of the partners involved. The search was conducted in the databases Scopus, CINAHL, MEDLINE, PsycNet, PubMed, PsycInfo and Sage Journals, and a complementary search in Google Scholar with the aim of screening out national studies not indexed in high-impact journals. The findings resulted in 14 studies considered eligible for inclusion in the main analysis. The results showed that gaslighting in intimate relationships has been investigated from seven main perspectives: risk factors and predictors, tactics or mechanisms, motivations, assessment tools, harm caused to victims, coping strategies and correlated variables of gaslighting. It is important to note that the articles selected adopted a convenience sample design, composed predominantly of female samples, which may influence the understanding of this phenomenon. In short, it is hoped that the findings of this study can contribute to the development of new research into the phenomenon, especially in the Brazilian context, and enable a discussion of intervention strategies that seek to identify, prevent and deal with this form of violence in love relationships, in order to promote healthier relationships.

Objective. This study examined the relationships among the reception of negative comments on social media; psychological well-being; and normal, pathological, and positive personality traits. Method. A total of 799 social media users residing in Argentina participated (338 men, 461 women; M = 39.7 years, SD = 13.84). The following instruments were used: the Big Five Inventory, the Mental Health Continuum–Short Form, the Inventory of the Five Personality Continuums–Short Version, and an ad hoc survey on the reception of negative comments on social media. The design was cross-sectional, nonexperimental, and correlational. The results. The frequency of negative comments was less than 10 % across all analyzed social media platforms. The degree of self-perceived distress was significantly associated with active use of social media (r = .24, p < .001) and with lower levels of psychological well-being (r = -.30, p < .001). Normal personality traits explained 9 % of the variance in the level of distress; when pathological and positive traits were added, they accounted for an additional 10 % of the total. Conclusions. Distress associated with the reception of negative comments on social media is linked to lower well-being and to a personality profile characterized by neuroticism and negative affect. The inclusion of pathological and positive traits improves the explanation of distress beyond normal traits.

Background: Even though vaccination may serve to effectively overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccine hesitancy is still prevalent and affected by different variables. This research is intended to understand which variables influence the likelihood of an individual getting a COVID-19 vaccine in a sample from Latin America, applying the COM-B model. Method: 368 individuals from Latin America answered a self-administered, cross-sectional survey from the iCARE study. Survey data began in March 2020 using convenience snowball sampling (globally) and parallel representative sampling in targeted countries. Results: A structural equation model showed that knowing that getting vaccinated will help protect others, wanting to contribute to high vaccination rates among the population to achieve herd immunity, and believing that getting vaccinated would reduce personal worries and anxiety predict the likelihood of an individual getting vaccinated. This shows that in this sample, motivators are more salient than capabilities and opportunities regarding vaccination uptake. Conclusions: Campaigns to reduce vaccine hesitancy need to highlight the prosocial factors of getting vaccinated and increase vulnerability and risk perceptions regarding the disease.

Meaning of life is a construct that has shown positive associations with quality of life of people at different life stages. The objective of this study was to identify categories of meanings related to the meaning of life and analyze their association with quality of life in adults in Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area. 223 adults between 18 and 87 years old participated (M = 44; SD = 19), 54 % women. Four categories of meanings of meaning in life were detected: 1) search for positive emotions/happiness, 2) connections with significant others, 3) goals and projects, and 4) altruism/prosociality. Quality of life was measured using the Quality of Life Inventory (QOLI). Results show that people who give meaning to their lives by prioritizing relationships with others have a higher quality of life compared to those who prioritize the pursuit of emotions, goals, and projects. Although meaning in life is positively associated with quality of life in adults, meaning in relationships with others would seem to contribute more to a high quality of life.

Objective: To analyze the psychometric properties of the Patient Health Questionnaire-4 (PHQ-4) in a sample of Ecuadorian adults. Method: Psychometric study in which factorial validity, measurement equivalence differentiated by gender and internal consistency of the instrument are analyzed. Participants: 406 Ecuadorian adults, 68.47 % women, aged between 18 and 59 years (M = 27.43; SD = 8.20). Results: The oblique two-factor model of the PHQ is confirmed, with the dimensions of depression and anxiety. Furthermore, the measure is equivalent at the scalar level based on gender. Internal consistency is adequate and presents divergent validity with measures of general well-being. Conclusion: The PHQ-4 is a valid and reliable instrument for rapid assessment of anxiety and depression in Ecuadorian adults.

Given the importance of parenting in child development, evidence highlights the effectiveness of parental guidance interventions in promoting healthy family interactions and reducing behavioral problems in children. Despite the benefits, a significant challenge remains in ensuring paternal involvement in these programs. Following PRISMA guidelines, the present study systematically reviewed 11 empirical studies that investigated paternal involvement and participation in parenting intervention programs, focusing on facilitators and barriers to adherence. The results indicated that fathers' participation in parenting programs was positively associated with educational level, household income, and children's emotional problems. The studies also emphasize flexibility in program implementation, father-focused interventions, and the importance of recognizing fathers' caregiving roles. Social support, cultural sensitivity, and personalized approaches are highlighted as key aspects to enhance participation. Barriers such as work conflicts, social stigmas, and gender norms remain significant, requiring culturally adapted solutions. These findings provide a comprehensive overview and discuss best practices to promote greater paternal engagement, as well as barriers that may hinder fathers' participation in parenting programs.

In Honduras, mangrove forests have experienced considerable decline and, so far, no synthesis has addressed the national loss of forest cover and its drivers. A systematic review was conducted that focused on analyzing forest cover loss in Honduran mangroves and the socioecological drivers influencing it over time using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The compiled literature revealed that between 1965 and 2024, a total of 58,485.23 ha of mangrove forest cover were lost. The most affected areas were the Pacific coast of Honduras (PCH), with a loss of 54,409.75 ha and an annual deforestation rate of 1.51%, followed by the Atlantic coast of Honduras (ACH), particularly the departments of Cortés (loss: 1,377.83 ha; annual rate: 2.62%) and Gracias a Dios (loss: 10,260.23 ha; annual rate: 1.39%). Aquaculture and agriculture emerged as the main drivers, especially on the Pacific coast (Gulf of Fonseca). In contrast, urbanization and development played a dominant role on the Atlantic coast. Additionally, the effects of climate change, particularly sea level rise, emerged as significant drivers that have resulted in considerable mangrove losses in Cortés. The findings of this review highlight the importance of investigating national and regional variations in mangrove loss in Honduras, as well as their underlying causes. With this information, more effective conservation measures can be designed and tailored to the specific circumstances of each area to safeguard the sustainability of these valuable ecosystems.
