Resumen
Introduction: Neonatal hyperbilirubinemia is a major health problem, a common cause of morbidity. Worldwide, it affects up to 60% of term newborns. Its diagnosis is by means of serum bilirubin levels, which is associated with certain disadvantages, especially in terms of discomfort related to delayed results. Objective: To evaluate the relationship between caregiver satisfaction and the time associated with the cycle of care for the diagnosis of neonatal jaundice. Materials and methods: Cross-sectional observational study, neonates with clinical evidence of jaundice were included. Demographic data were collected, a satisfaction survey was applied to evaluate the level of caregiver satisfaction, and the times associated with the cycle of care from the moment of admission to the medical procedure were recorded. Results: A patient flow analysis was performed, and it was found that waiting time is significant, especially in obtaining laboratory results. Caregivers' satisfaction with waiting times influences their overall perception of service quality. Conclusions: The potential implementation of new diagnostic instruments could generate added value to the service by speeding up medical decision making.

Resumen
Introduction: Symbolic violence is one of the most common forms of interaction within society, imperceptible and naturalized, and it is also present in the academic field. Objective: To explore the existing literature towards the presence of symbolic violence in university pedagogical practices in nursing programs. Materials and methods: Narrative literature review between 2018 and 2024, using Scopus, Redalyc, Dialnet, Web of Science, Science Direct, DOAJ, and university repositories, through the methodology proposed by Arksey and O'Malley. Results: 24 articles were obtained for thematic analysis. The main subjects of study were found to be students; however, interactions between teachers and administrators are also protagonists. The use of qualitative methodologies is the most common, allowing for an understanding of the subjective dimension of symbolic violence. There is limited production related to pedagogical practices in nursing programs. Conclusions: The narrative suggest that scientific production towards the topic is increasing, violence based on gender has been the most analyzed topic in the academic context. It was found that there exist violent teaching practices in the classrooms, and that educational polices and institutional structures tend to generate discrimination and exclusion of some groups.

Introduction: The subdermal implant is a highly effective family planning option. Identifying adverse effects allows us to understand the epidemiological behavior of this method. Objective: To determine the prevalence, time of onset, and duration of adverse effects of the etonogestrel subdermal implant. Materials and methods: A descriptive cross-sectional design was performed in 50 women who were users of etonogestrel subdermal implants. The types of adverse effects, their number, prevalence, time from onset to application, and duration of the effect from the time of implant application were identified. Results: The average age was 28.84 years (95% CI; 26.98–30.70). The most frequently occurring adverse effect was menstrual irregularities in 98.0% (95% CI: 93.9–100.0); the onset time was 3.31 months (95% CI' 1.40–5.21) after implant application, and the average duration was 35.76 months (95% CI; 26.97–44.54). In women with etonogestrel subdermal implants, 100% experienced one or more adverse effects. Conclusion: The prevalence of adverse effects from the use of etonogestrel subdermal implant is high, and several adverse effects occur at different times and durations.

Resumen
Introduction: Electronic cigarette consumption is an emerging public health problem, since this modality is attractive to users, a low-risk perception towards these devices predisposes to consumption, a risk group are nursing students. Objective: To determine the relationship between risk perception and electronic cigarette use among nursing students at a public university in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Materials and methods: Descriptive and correlational cross-sectional study, using non-probabilistic convenience sampling, the sample consisted of 50 participants over 18 years of age who signed informed consent. Results: 60 % of the participants reported using electronic cigarettes at some time in their lives and 14 % in the last week. The age of onset of use was 18,4 years (SD = 1.7), women presented higher use in the last month (Tau-b = -0.26; p < 0.05). There was a significant negative relationship between risk perception and electronic cigarette consumption (rs = -0.13; p < 0.05). Conclusion: It is necessary to consider risk perception in future studies and in nursing education to prevent the use of electronic cigarettes.

Resumen
Introduction: Physical activity is fundamental in lifestyle and is a determinant factor in body fat percentage. Physical inactivity leads to the risk of chronic noncommunicable diseases. Objective: To determine the relationship between physical activity and body fat percentage in gym users. Materials and methods: The study was quantitative and cross-sectional. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) was used and skinfolds were used to determine body fat. The sample was 100 subjects. Spearman's Rho statistical test and Mann-Whitney U test were used. Results: 92% had a moderate level of physical activity and 5% a vigorous level, 34% had a normal body fat percentage and 17% low. There is a relationship between the level of physical activity and body fat (p=0.009; Rho=-0.259), likewise there is a relationship between body fat and age (p=0.032; Rho=0.215). Physical activity level (MET sedentary) was found to be a significant predictor of BMI (B=-0.004; β=-0.239; p=0.034). Conclusion: Gym users with a vigorous level of physical activity had a lower fat percentage compared to sedentary physical activity users who had a higher fat percentage. Higher levels of physical activity are associated with lower body mass index.

Resumen
This paper mobilizes radical cartographic projects to explore the participation of Canada within green extractivism in Central America. The transition to a green capitalist economy built on alternative energy sources is well underway across the region of Central America, but the multiple forms of dispossession and agrarian change associated with the transition have generated significant harm for surrounding communities. This paper highlights the extractivist logic of supposedly renewable energy by pairing the literature on green extractivism with findings from fieldwork with rural communities surrounding energy and infrastructure projects in Costa Rica and Panama. In doing so, both the literature review and research findings connect with projects of radical cartography, which aim to subvert state and corporate mapping through grassroots projects of art-based resistance. Following an exploration of the Beehive Collective’s Mesoamérica Resiste! poster, the paper presents a pair of original maps and a series of stories, in order to demonstrate the communicative power and theoretical potential of radical cartography. The stories presented here were collected over five months of fieldwork in Costa Rica and Panama, which included 34 interviews plus participant observation at 18 energy and infrastructure sites. Discussion of the findings explores Canada’s participation in selected extractivist projects, and offers an approach to analyzing transnational involvement through categories of Consumption, Investment, Promotion, and Provision. Given the relationship between these findings and the map-making process, the paper emphasizes the ability of radical cartography and graphic art projects to generate theoretical insight for academic research and to communicate findings to non-academic participants.
