The Collective Buildings of the Caja de Seguro Obrero Social, since its gestation and construction between 1939 and 1941, have become benchmarks of a distinctive architectural modernity of the Norte Grande of Chile and that is evidenced by the diversity of authors who have approached them from various study optics. In order to establish the state of the art around the Collective Buildings, a review of the documentary sources in which they have been addressed has been carried out. The analysis and classification of these records shows that they have been the most widely disseminated works of architecture in northern Chile, providing an architectural, urban, historical and social imprint that maintains its validity and that still continues to constitute a valuable research case.

This article, presents, analyses and discusses the Diagonal Beethoven Building, an unexplored work by one of Spain’s leading 20th-century architects, Jose Antonio Coderch. The building displays elements that are characteristic of the architect, in large part rooted in the tradition that forged his highly distinguished style. From the search for light and user-focused solutions for curves, windows, courtyards and corners to the smallest of interior details, which highlight his skill in the resolution of construction joints and his handling of materials, Coderch applied his architectural style in single-family homes, multi-family homes and office blocks. This article helps to expand our understanding of his work and its evolution, providing a common thread, because of their shared period, use and geographical proximity, that includes some of his emblematic projects broadening our knowledge of his legacy and the era in which he lived.

AbstractIn the middle of the 1930s, sport in young Bulgaria was in a deficient state not only in the eyes of its government, but also in those of foreign observers. The "Law on the Physical Education of Youth", passed in 1931, did not seem to fulfill the expectations placed in it, which is why the government asked for advice and the preparation of a general plan by an expert to be sent by the German Reich. Carl Diem, internationally known and respected at least since the 1936 Olympic Games, stayed in the country in the fall of 1937 and drafted the requested plan, which contained a concept for the future organisation of national sports, the construction of sports facilities and the training of "gymnastics teachers" on more than 60 pages, including annexes and an analysis of the current situation.The present study attempts a synoptic-descriptive presentation of this "Organisation Plan for Physical Education in Bulgaria", which was groundbreaking for national sports. ResumenA mediados de los años 30, el deporte en la joven Bulgaria no sólo era deficitario a ojos de su gobierno, sino también de los observadores extranjeros. La “Ley de Educación Física de la Juventud” aprobada en 1931 no parecía cumplir las expectativas depositadas en ella, por lo que el gobiernosolicitó el asesoramiento y la elaboración de un plan general por parte de un experto que sería enviado por el Reich alemán. Carl Diem, conocido y respetado internacionalmente desde los Juegos Olímpicos de 1936 a más tardar, estuvo en el país en otoño de 1937 y redactó el plan solicitado, quecontenía un concepto para la futura organización del deporte nacional, la construcción de instalaciones deportivas y la formación de “profesores de gimnasia” en más de 60 páginas, incluyendo anexos y un análisis de la situación actual.El presente estudio intenta hacer una presentación sinóptica-descriptiva de este “Plan para la Educación Física en Bulgaria”, que fue pionero para el deporte nacional.

With the purpose of evaluating the prevalence of feline viral leukemia in domestic cats in Santo Domingo city, Ecuador, an investigation was carried out on 47 cats older than 6 months, healthy or with pathological signs, treated at the SERVET Veterinary Clinic. A 0.75 ml blood sample was extracted from the cephalic vein of each patient for diagnosis, through molecular tests, which were performed from the plasma obtained by centrifugation. For the determination, a Bioer LineGene 9600 Plus thermocycler was used, the general prevalence of the disease was calculated and the risk factors were determined through contingency analysis; in addition, the Chi-square and Fisher tests were used, according to the nature of the data. The results show that the prevalence of FeLV in Santo Domingo city was 68.1%; because access to the main risk factor was represented by age, with young cats being the most susceptible. Access to open spaces and the lack of adequate health care implies high risks of infection. 68.8% of the cats that were positive live in open houses, 93.8% did not have the application of FeLV vaccines and 62.5% do not deworm regularly. Gender, reproductive fertility status, application of the triple vaccine, breed purity, type of diet, or living with other animals do not affect FeLv infection as risk factors.

Inadequate management of the environment in the paramos can have a negative impact on the efficient use of natural resources. The objective of this study was to develop a system of indicators to evaluate environmental sustainability as a tool to conserve Putzalahua Hill. The methodology used was based on the deductive-inductive method, which made it possible to identify the environmental problem and select the appropriate indicators. The information collected through on-site visits and unstructured interviews with directors of the GAD parish and inhabitants of the communities was complemented using a non-probabilistic sampling. To select the indicators, the PER method was applied: Pressure, to identify the human activities that generate changes in the environment; State, to assess the current situation of the environment and its natural resources; and response, to identify the actions established by the government and the competent entities to address the environmental problem. Agricultural activities, timber extraction and impacts generated by tourism activities were identified as the main pressure factors. 31 indicators were found based on 5 factors and specific strategies and activities were developed to strengthen and guide correct decision making. In conclusion, the indicators system represents a valuable tool to simplify and systematize the information related to environmental problems, and can be used to address different aspects that affect the conservation of natural resources.

The purpose of this research was to characterize the lactation curve in rabbits; important aspect to adjust rations and obtain maximum performance in production systems. A modified beta function was used, with estimators of: height (κ), ascent (α) and descent (β) of 374.60 ± 10.271; 0.5616 ± 0.015 and 0.4369 ± 0.014 respectively. The day of maximum production (DMP) and the maximum production (PM) of the average curve was achieved at 16.78 d with a volume of 189.01 g.d-1. Parameter estimators, as well as WMD and PM of individual lactations, were analyzed using the mixed model with repeated measures, which included the fixed effects: genotype (G), number of parity (P) and litter size. (C), and the random effect of the animal nested within genotype A(G). For κ, significant differences were found (p ≤ 0.05), increasing its value with the size of the litter. In α, significant differences were only detected in P with the highest parameter value in primiparous females (p ≤ 0.05). The β parameter was only affected by C. The WMD and PM were affected (p ≤ 0.05) by P and C. The PM was higher in multiparous rabbits and increased with C (p ≤ 0.05). The modified beta function adequately describes the lactation curve of rabbits.

Noise pollution is an environmental problem, which affects the hearing processes of human beings and living conditions in the long term. This inconvenience is strongly accentuated mainly in the large metropolises, where productive, commercial and industrial activities have an intense dynamic; this creates a dysfunctional and precarious environment for the standard of living in the population. A clear example of environmental contamination occurs in the Valdivia neighborhood, Guayaquil-Ecuador, where sound pressure levels produced by the influence of noise from automobiles and fixed sources in the sector were recorded and analyzed. The methodology used in the polygon of interest consisted of taking a minimum of 12 measurements with a duration of 5 seconds each, at 9 critical points in the Valdivia neighborhood. Once the average equivalent noise levels were determined, the degree of compliance with current environmental regulations was observed (Ecuadorian official registration document N0 387 04). It was evidenced that, during the two days, daytime and nighttime, the noise levels exceeded, in all the critical points, the permissible values, registering maximums of 86.2 dB Ld during daytime hours and 82.9 dB Ln at nighttime, respectively.

El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo hallar en el pensamiento de Hannah Arendt indicios para pensar la deconstrucción de la ciudadanía. Teniendo en cuenta que dicho desafío implica quebrar la aceptación originaria de la ciudadanía con el Estado-Nación, nos proponemos un camino interpretativo que se enriquece desde la crítica. Es por ello que comenzamos haciendo lugar a las observaciones vertidas por Judith Butler respecto al postulado del derecho a tener derechos y la aparente tajante división arendtiana del espacio privado y el espacio público. Luego, recorremos las disonancias marcadas por Ana Paula Penchaszadeh, quien, a través de la obra de Jacques Derrida, exhibe claves para reflexionar sobre la hospitalidad en la política y la imposibilidad de encontrar en Arendt argumentos plausibles de ser adheridos a la deconstrucción de la ciudadanía. No obstante, nuestra conclusión se distancia de las consideraciones de la pensadora argentina y esgrime que la vitalidad de la política implica la visibilidad como único camino posible para pugnar en el espacio público por el principio del derecho a tener derechos, garantizado por el evento de la natalidad.

En este artículo analizo la experiencia anoréxica en el marco de las teorías críticas de los afectos y las políticas del cuerpo. En la actualidad, las políticas culturales de las emociones y las teorías del malestar se presentan como problemas destacados tanto a nivel epistemológico como político. La depresión, la ansiedad o el estrés admiten ser pensados como categorías críticas, en contraste con otras nociones patologizantes, psicologicistas o medicalizadoras, como enfermedad, síndrome, déficit o trastorno. El propósito de una lectura filosófica de tales categorías es eludir la estigmatización y la responsabilización de los dispositivos psiquiátricos y la cultura terapéutica, en función de los cuales se privatizan y mercantilizan los sentimientos. En este contexto, indago en el cuerpo anoréxico desde una perspectiva filosófica y política, entendiendo que constituye un suelo ambivalente de investigación y resistencia. Mi hipótesis es que la anorexia puede ser un punto de vista crítico para investigar las prácticas corporales en el capitalismo.

El artículo asume una posición crítica respecto a las condiciones de definición de lo verdadero en su perspectiva epistemológica y también su valoración en el universo de sentido social. Partiendo de un recorrido que enuncia el debate epistemológico desde el giro lingüístico y la hermenéutica, se postula que la reflexión de la verdad como una relación social corresponde que en el presente se defina a partir de las condiciones del modelo individualista de vida. Por eso todo discurso verdadero se efectúa en una relación con la posición individual de cada sujeto, y para explicar ello se delinea la modalidad de lo verdadero como simulación en un proceso de circulación definido algorítmicamente. En consecuencia, el artículo interviene en la problemática crítica de definir lo verdadero en un tiempo como el presente donde las referencias simbólicas se han disipado.
