Resumen
In a planetary context of climate change and hypercommunication, expressed in millions of technology-mediated interactions in which communicative substance has become trivialized, it is worth questioning the role of environmental education through cyberculture to induce critical thinking and committed action. Three interrelated objects are investigated: i) the influence of technological mediating models from which a communicative and cultural hegemony has formed, intimately linked with the digital expansion of the market, ii) the pedagogical constructions of distance environmental education, and iii) the evaluation of distance courses on climate change and the resulting reflections. This article starts from the analysis of the relevance of using massive open online nano-courses (NOOC) as a teacher training option on climate change in Mexico. Based on a comprehensive evaluation, conducted under a mixed methodology, advantages and disadvantages were identified in the use of this educational modality for teacher training in climate change, and reflections are presented on the cultural and environmental impact of the use of technologies in line with environmental pedagogy and didactics.

Resumen
The study employs a qualitative approach to analyze the implementation of La Escuela Es Nuestra (LEEN), a federal program that decentralizes decision-making to the level of school communities, granting them a subsidy to address educational infrastructure and equipment needs. LEEN's design relies on proximity (communities better understand their schools' needs) and trust (they will reliably manage resources). Through 78 semi-structured interviews conducted in 21 schools, the research explores the fulfillment of these assumptions as well as the Operating Rules (OR), and the benefits perceived by communities. The findings indicate that LEEN's implementation generally adheres to the OR and improves the contextualization of infrastructure projects. The assumptions of proximity and trust are primarily fulfilled in communities with a strong social fabric. Weaknesses are identified in surveillance and transparency mechanisms, which could increase the risk of inappropriate use of resources in communities with weak social fabric.

Resumen
Does the full-time schooling policy currently being developed in Brazil, defined by the Full-Time School Program established by Law No. 14.640/2023, promote a perspective of comprehensive education? To answer this question, the text aims to discuss the legal-normative documents that support the policy, analyzing whether it can be placed in the scenario of a comprehensive education aligned with the perspective of integrality. The research was based on a dialectical methodology, with an analytical-reconstructive procedure, using the content analysis technique. The documentary corpus consisted of current legal-normative documents of the policy proposed by the Federal Government (admin. 2023-2026). In its development, the text is composed of 3 sections: it presents legal excerpts on full-time schooling in Brazil; makes observations about the National Policy of Full-Time Schooling and discusses the possibilities for Full-Time Education to constitute a comprehensive formative character. In conclusion, the text indicates that the current full-time schooling policy presents elements, both in its text and in complementary legislation, to be a policy that promotes effective integrality, leaving as a challenge its practical operationalization in each subfederated entity.

Resumen
In Mexico, the monitoring and evaluation of public policies have gone through different institutional stages. In the current context, marked by the elimination of the agencies responsible for evaluating social programs, including educational ones, uncertainty persists about who will assume these functions. Given this institutional vacuum, it is key to assess the role that academia and organized civil society can play in building alternative monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and to consider how this could be done. This article outlines a proposal for citizen monitoring and evaluation of educational policy, based on the analysis of coherence between policies and taking the Education Sector Program as the main input.

Resumen
The evaluation of educational policies transcends simple measurement of results, establishing itself as a political and ethical act that questions the purpose of public decisions and their impact on the right to quality education. The Latin American Journal of Educational Studies has promoted a critical understanding of these policies as products of disputes and worldviews. In Latin America, there is a transition toward broader evaluative approaches that analyze not only results but also processes and stakeholders involved. However, in Mexico, the disappearance of institutions such as Mejoredu and Coneval poses challenges regarding who will conduct these evaluations. It is essential that evaluation incorporates the voices of educational communities, recognizing diverse perspectives and knowledge. This approach allows questioning what is being evaluated, from where, and for what purpose, thus promoting a more democratic evaluation oriented toward social justice and the common good.

Resumen
"Politics and Educational Policies: Scientific Production Under Debate," coordinated by Sergio Gerardo Malaga Villegas (2024), represents a critical and systematic analysis of research on educational policy in Mexico between 2012-2021. The volume, part of COMIE's fourth delivery of knowledge states, transcends mere cataloging to question how knowledge has been produced, from what perspectives, and with what implications. It stands out for conceptualizing educational policies as complex and ideological objects, not simple technical products, revealing tensions between predominant technocratic approaches and emerging critical visions. Although it identifies limitations such as the persistence of classificatory structures and insufficient articulation between research and public policy, the work constitutes a fundamental contribution that invites rethinking the epistemological frameworks of the field. Its value lies in questioning the foundations of academic production and its links with contested educational projects.

Resumen
Introduction: In Mexico, the marketing and promotion of unhealthy foods and beverages has become a public health issue, as it has facilitated the access and consumption of ultra-processed foods from childhood. Objective: Analyze the nature and scope of promotional strategies on children's eating behaviors and characterize the nutritional content of the foods advertised through a systematic review. Material and method: Promotional strategies targeting children were characterized using a review based on the PRISMA declaration. The search strategy was established across three databases: PubMed, Scielo, and BVS, considering the period from 2010 to 2023, with search terms in both English and Spanish. The methodology addresses two research questions: What is the nature of food marketing aimed at children? and What is the impact of food and beverage marketing on children's diet? Results: It was found that more than 90% of the advertised foods did not meet nutritional quality standards, with sugary drinks, sweet cereals, and snacks being the most promoted items. Conclusion: The use of advertising characters was the most common promotional strategy across television, social media, and food packaging.

Resumen
Introduction: Breastfeeding offers multiple benefits for children's health and is considered essential for the craniofacial development of babies. However, its direct effect on the prevention of malocclusions is still debated. Objective: This study seeks to analyze the relationship between breastfeeding and signs of malocclusion in children, through a review of recent studies (2020-2024). Method: A literature search was carried out with selection criteria, using academic databases and gray literature. Studies were assessed for relevance and quality, and data were synthesized to identify patterns. Results: The review indicates that exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months is associated with less presence of malocclusions, especially in the primary dentition, and that prolonged bottle use and non-nutritive sucking habits increase the risk of malocclusions. Conclusion: Currently there is not enough high-quality evidence to support that breastfeeding has a positive effect on the prevention of malocclusions, although it may be a protective factor. More studies are required to explore these relationships and encourage this practice to benefit the baby's oral health.

Resumen
Introduction: Lifestyles influence health, encompassing everything from dietary habits to physical activity, affected by stress and adult life responsibilities. These habits are linked to cardiovascular diseases. While some studies show a relationship, others do not confirm it, justifying the need for research. Objective: To relate lifestyle to cardiovascular risk through the waist-to-height ratio. Material and Method: Cross-sectional correlational study, with a sample of 54 individuals who were administered the PEPS-1 questionnaire, and waist circumference and height were measured at public institution. Results: It was found that 88.9% have cardiovascular risk and that 77.8% perceive themselves with a high lifestyle.

Resumen
Introduction: Inadequate nutrition contributes to the progression of many diseases in older adults, and is also an important factor that favors sarcopenia and frailty. Objective: Determine the prevalence of malnutrition due to deficit in non-institutionalized older adults in Veracruz, Mexico. Material and method: descriptive and cross-sectional study in 105 older adults to whom the Mini Nutritional Assessment questionnaire was applied. The analysis was descriptive with the SPSS 21 statistical program. Results: the prevalence of malnutrition found was 26.67%. Furthermore, being widowed and having a history of chronic illness was significantly associated with malnutrition. Conclusion: the majority of older adults with malnutrition were characterized by having a decrease in calf and brachial circumference, as well as living dependently, consuming low amounts of fruits and vegetables. Early detection of malnutrition and risk of malnutrition facilitates planned interventions.
