La obra supone un esfuerzo por preservar el recuerdo de los trágicos acontecimientos del 2 de octubre de 1968 mediante la recopilación de archivos y fotografías que ilustran y apoyan los textos compilados. Uno de sus propósitos es incentivar la reflexión en el lector sobre la importancia de este hecho y sus repercusiones.

This study presents the results of an investigation that aimed to determine the unique features and similarities in the professional careers of a sample of six teachers from southern Chile who work in both urban and rural settings, who were selected according to suitability criteria. Using the methodological guidelines of the biographical narrative research approach, the participants produced life stories that were analyzed with regard to their categorical content. The results allow us to identify a framework of categories that explicitly describe biographical phases or trajectories that are structured around three common axes: family, experiences, and educational policies. The most significant life experiences nurture personal and professional decisions which differ according to the sense of identity constructed, the context of performance and the socio-personal factors available. Finally, the political-educational implications of the results for continuous teacher training and professional development are analyzed and discussed from a comprehensive understanding of the school world from the perspective of the actors involved.

As part of the Rural Teacher Training Colleges project in Mexico, launched in 1922, many states of the Mexican federal republic witnessed the emergence of these institutions, which were designed to train teachers for rural areas. In Chiapas, this goal was achieved in 1931 with the opening of the Cerro Hueco Rural Teacher Training College near the state capital, a boarding school that housed more than 100 people, including students, teachers, and service personnel. Initially, its organization and activities aimed to comply with official guidelines and curricula, but very soon problems arose due to the shortage of financial resources, the lack of adequate facilities, and the presence of indigenous students who made teaching difficult because they did not speak Spanish and lacked basic knowledge. Finally, between 1935 and 1936, faced with the need to find a region more suited to the needs of the Normal School, it was decided to move it to Plan de Ayala, in the municipality of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, thus beginning a new phase under the name of Escuela Regional Campesina Mactumactzá (Mactumactzá Regional Rural School).

Artificial intelligence (AI) is impacting various sectors, including the educational one, and particularly research and academia. This study analyzes the use of AI tools in the research methodology process, the advantages, disadvantages, and risks. A literature review was carried out in several scientific platforms, and it was found that the use of AI in academia is increasing, but lacking in ethical guidelines and agreements that can regulate its implementation, generating concerns about potential misuse and its impact on critical thinking. Nevertheless, when properly used, AI can offer great potential benefits and become an important ally for researchers.

El artículo analiza los avatares de la pertinencia curricular en México. Está dividido en dos partes: la primera se estudian los principales acontecimientos desde la década de los setenta hasta 2024 y en la segunda se profundiza en lo acontecido de 2021 a 2024 presentando los resultados de 46 investigaciones utilizando para ello siete indicadores. Se describen los principales debates sobre este tema y comparando ambos momentos hay una mejora de la pertinencia curricular en los últimos años, aunque se reconoce que pudiera haber sesgos. Se sugiere ampliar la noción de pertinencia y homogeneizar el tipo de información recopilada.

Los investigadores y académicos que deseen proponer trabajos para su publicación en la RIES deberán presentarlos de acuerdo con estos lineamientos.
