This article explores pro-feminist podcasting as an emergent approach to engaging men and boys in gender justice. In recent years, an increasing number of podcasts have surfaced which implicitly or explicitly espouse pro-feminist praxis. However, scholarship in this area remains underexamined. This article seeks to move the literature forward by 1) situating pro-feminist podcasting within the wider multi-disciplinary literatures on critical podcasting pedagogies; 2) sharing examples from the current landscape of English-language pro-feminist podcasts; and 3) discussing the potential benefits, challenges, and risks of this approach. In doing so, this article considers how pro-feminist podcasts have the potential to expand men’s engagement efforts to wider audiences, provide new accessible entry points, and help facilitate ways to bring together and mobilise groups of pro-feminist men. However, there are several challenges and tensions involved in pro-feminist podcasting - as is the case with other forms of engaging men and pro-feminist allyship - which demonstrate that this work should be undertaken with care, ongoing reflexivity, and accountability. Overall, this article seeks to start a conversation about the potential of podcasting in the field of engaging men and boys and to draw attention to the need for further work and research in this area.

This report analyzes the meanings that boys and girls have on the configuration of masculinity (s) expressed through feminist children's literature. A qualitative grounded theory design with emergent cut based on symbolic interactionism was used. Five girls and five boys between the ages of eight and ten took part in the research and were interviewed after reading four feminist children's stories. Analysis highlighting that some gender stereotypes related to appearance and behavior are maintained and that positions of power in gender social relations were evoked. In the stories there is an admiration for heroic and powerful male figures, who have the need to act decisively because this becomes a crucial way of positioning themselves to be recognized in society as a man. The meaning of masculinity is understood as a recognition with transformations and variability, especially with regard to emotional expression, the need for control and demonstration; an initial sense of respect for individual configurations of masculinity is identified.

Chronic disease conditions can degrade men physically and psychologically which has the effect of making men is not being able to meet social demands about masculinity (ideal self-image for men). This study aimed to develop a conceptual understanding of the dilemmas that occur in men with chronic diseases in carrying out social roles. This was a qualitative meta-synthesis to examine critically all relevant previous qualitative studies. A systematic search strategy was carried out by involving four academic databases: CINAHL, Scopus, ProQuest and Wiley Online Library. Searches were conducted for studies published between 2015 to 2020. Sixteen articles that met the criteria were used in the study. Four themes of the social role dilemmas among men with chronic diseases were constructed: (1) Dilemma of the role of men as father; (2) Dilemma of the role of men as husband; (3) Dilemma of the role of men as the breadwinner; (4) Dilemma of public perceptions: men are physically stronger. Health workers, in particular family health nurses, need to provide an intervention with a psychosocial and gender approach in order to be able to improve men's quality of life.

Demographic changes open up more opportunities for intergenerational relationships, as grandparents and grandchildren coexist longer and have fewer grandchildren. The objective is to analyze how older men perceive their role as grandfathers and describe their relationships with their grandchildren, through the concept of kinship work. An anthropological investigation was carried out in a total of 9 cases in Santiago de Chile. Semi-structured interviews were conducted both regarding the times, spaces and activities that the grandparents shared with their grandchildren, as well as their perspectives regarding the changes between parenthood and grandparenthood. Three key categories resulted from this: the home, grandparent-grandchild activities, and the role of the grandparent. It was concluded that grandparents describe themselves as "bad breeders" of their grandchildren, that is, not responsible for raising their grandchildren, leaving aside the notion of responsibility or family work when relating to their grandchildren. The role of the grandfather is conditioned by the gender division of labor, even when the grandfather has retired from work. Added to this is the relevance of co-residence in kinship work.

The struggle of feminist movements in recent decades to uncover the power embedded in gender relations situates men as subjects of socio-cultural practices in which power constantly operates. In this sense, understanding masculinities as socially and culturally constructed and as multiple and plural places men as key agents for change. This article aims to analyze the deconstruction of Hegemonic Masculinity in men who have initiated a process of revision of their masculinity. To this end, five in-depth interviews were conducted. The content analysis of them differentiates between, those changes that are comfortably accepted by the current neoliberal system, such as the incursion of men into the emotional world for productive purposes, and those elements culturally associated with femininity that break with systems of domination, including vulnerability, as opposed to strength as a masculine quality, and the non-productive social revaluation of care.
