Introduction: Autism Spectrum Disorder is a neurodevelopmental disability that can affect and hinder the individual’s communication and social interaction, as well as present repetitive and restrictive behavior patterns. Signs and symptoms of autism can be observed in children between 18 and 24 months of age, or even in younger children, between 6 and 12 months of age. Objective: To analyze the scientific evidence related to nursing care offered to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in primary health care, considering the approach proposed by Nola Pender’s Health Promotion Model. Methodology: This is an integrative review study, searches were carried out in the following databases: PubMed, Scopus, CINAHL, EMBASE, Scielo, Web of Science and Virtual Health Library. A total of 910 articles were identified, of which 6 were selected for the final sample. Of the articles analyzed, 2 were located in the VHL, 1 in CINAHL, 1 in the Web of Science and 2 in Scielo. Most of the studies had a qualitative and descriptive methodological design. Results: Regarding the synthesis of the conducts, the predominance of themes such as: Training of the nursing team; The family as a strategy for early diagnosis and Awareness about stigma was observed. The findings point to the importance of the nurse’s role in the early screening of Autism Spectrum Disorder in childcare consultations in PHC. Conclusion: Nola Pender’s approach resonates significantly in the context of care for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in primary care.

Introduction: Falls are a major concern among hypertensive older adults, as they can lead to severe injuries and reduced quality of life. Understanding the impact of antihypertensive medication use on fall risk and fear of falling is essential for improving patient care and fall prevention strategies. Objective: To investigate the associations between antihypertensive medication use and the risk and fear of falling in hypertensive older adults. Methods: A quantitative and cross-sectional study was conducted with 70 hypertensive older adults from a medical specialty center in the municipality of Sapezal, Brazil. The Timed Up and Go test and the Falls Efficacy Scale were applied. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test, binary logistic regression, and the Hosmer-Lemeshow test. A significance level of p < 0.05 was considered. Results: Older adults using two or more antihypertensive medications have significantly higher chances of fall risk (48.167 times) and fear of falling (15.007 times) compared to those using only one medication. Additionally, those taking medications for one to four years and over four years have 6.679 and 13.444 times greater chances of experiencing fear of falling with recurrent falls compared to those using them for less than one year. Conclusion: There is an association between the quantity and duration of medication use with a higher risk and fear of falling in hypertensive older adults.

Introduction: Hemodialysis patients represent a highly vulnerable population, given that the treatment condition alters and modifies their daily interaction with their environment, limiting their activities. Objective: To establish the relationship between post-hemodialysis complications and quality of life in patients in a national hospital in Peru, in the city of Huancayo. Materials and Methods: Quantitative approach and correlational scope, with participation of 140 people by census sampling type, which guaranteed the representativeness of the sample by collecting all the population units that undergo hemodialysis in the Daniel Alcides Carrión Hospital of Huancayo. The SF-36 Health Questionnaire was applied, and a self-report data collection form was used to evaluate post-hemodialysis characteristics such as arterial hypertension, arterial hypotension, nausea, vomiting, headache and cramps. Results: The study found that there is a moderate significant correlation between the variables (p = 0.000; Rho = -0.451), indicating that as patients present greater complications, their perception of quality of life is lower. In addition, significant correlations were found between hemodialysis patient's complications and their physical health (p = 0.000; Rho = -0.479), and mental health (p = 0.000; Rho = -0.366). Conclusions: Higher indicators of post-hemodialysis complications had a negative impact on the perception of quality of life, which underscores the need to develop and program campaigns focused on strengthening quality of life in physical and mental terms to facilitate adherence to treatment.

Introduction: Postoperative wound complications, such as infections, seromas, and dehiscence, represent a global health challenge. Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) is an advanced technique that accelerates wound healing through the application of controlled subatmospheric pressure, reducing the risk of infection and promoting tissue regeneration. Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of NPWT in reducing postoperative complications and improving clinical outcomes in various surgical contexts. Methodology: A systematized review was conducted following the PRISMA guidelines. The following databases were consulted: PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, SciELO, LILACS, Redalyc, Dialnet, ScienceDirect, Medigraphic and Ciberindex. DeCS and MeSH descriptors were used, including: “negative pressure wound therapy,” “wound healing,” “surgical wound infection,” and “postoperative complications,” along with their Spanish equivalents, combined using Boolean operators AND and OR. Studies published between 2017 and 2024 in English, Spanish, and Portuguese were included. Results: The reviewed studies demonstrated that NPWT significantly reduces the incidence of infections (by approximately 35 % compared to conventional methods) and dehiscence (by 30-40 %). Key success factors include wound location, type of surgery, and individual patient characteristics such as obesity, diabetes, and advanced age. Conclusions: The evidence suggests that NPWT is an effective intervention for reducing postoperative complications —particularly infections and dehiscence— in patients with complex wounds and comorbidities. The studies report consistent improvements in healing time and clinical outcomes, especially in high-risk surgical procedures.

Introduction: The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) is a type of professional that has been incorporated in the health systems of various countries with the aim of optimizing access, equity and efficiency in care. Objective: To unveil the perception about the advanced practice nurse professional according to primary health care nurses. Methodology: The research was conducted with a qualitative phenomenological methodology, the testimonies of eight participants who lived the experience of being a primary care nurse and talked about the feasibility of creating a Master of Advanced Practice in primary care in Chile were collected. The information was obtained through in-depth interviews, protecting confidentiality. Results: Six units of meaning emerged: 1) Development of nursing over the years; 2) Adaptation of nursing to public policies in CESFAMs; 3) Leadership in care management; 4) Personal and professional development in nursing when caring for others in primary care; 5) Need for continuous academic development; 6) Transition toward advanced practice nursing in primary care. Participants expressed motivation to pursue EPA-oriented graduate studies, including clinical, community and management content. Conclusion: The implementation of the EPA role in Chilean primary care is perceived as feasible and necessary. The study provides evidence for the design of postgraduate academic programs and supports the formulation of public policies aimed at strengthening advanced nursing competencies.

Introduction: Humanized care implies a deep and meaningful connection between the nursing professional and the patient, beyond technical medical care. Objective: To conduct a narrative review on the key aspects in the implementation of humanized nursing care in hospitalization services. Methodology: A literature review in the Scopus, PubMed, and SciELO databases was conducted in September 2024. Systematic and non-systematic reviews in Spanish and English from the last 5 years were included. Results: Four relevant aspects were found, which were categorized into: principles, benefits, challenges and strategies in the implementation of humanized nursing care. Conclusions: Humanized nursing care is key to improving the quality of care and the patient experience, promoting empathy and effective communication, which results in greater satisfaction and better clinical outcomes. However, it faces barriers such as staff shortages, organizational barriers, work overload and lack of continuous training, especially in socio-emotional skills. Strategies to overcome these challenges include the application of technologies, strong leadership, institutional support, continuous training, and establishing strategic alliances that ensure a sustainable approach to hospitalization services.

Introduction: Assessing satisfaction with health services means diagnosing a reality so that services can adapt and meet minimum quality standards. Thus, evaluating people's satisfaction with Primary Health Care (PHC) can be understood as an important indicator of the quality of the service provided. Objective: To analyze the satisfaction of older adults with the services provided in PHC and the associated factors. Method: A study involving 310 older adults who were users of a Basic Health Unit in southern Brazil, through face-to-face home interviews. A structured instrument was used, covering sociodemographic variables, lifestyle habits, clinical profile, service usage, and satisfaction indicators. Descriptive and inferential analyses were conducted (Mann-Whitney U, chi-square or Fisher’s exact test, p < 0.05). Open-ended responses were analyzed using a word cloud to identify areas for improvement. Results: A total of 96.5 % of participants reported being satisfied with the services, with 35.2 % stating they were very satisfied. Positive highlights included concern for the patient’s needs (54.5 %) and clarity of the information provided (53.9 %). The least satisfactory aspect was the lack of consideration for the patient’s opinion in treatment planning (55 %). Nevertheless, 80.65 % said they would recommend the service to other older adults. A significant association was found between being seen quarterly and higher satisfaction (p = 0.031). Conclusion: Satisfaction is linked to continuity of care, accessibility, and the bond with professionals. However, active listening and infrastructure were critical points of dissatisfaction. Investing in structural improvements and strengthening humanized practices are essential to improve the quality of care and increase older adults’ adherence to health services.

Objectives: To map studies on the use of hormonal oral contraceptives in adolescence in school health services and primary health care; identify types of contraceptive pills most used by adolescents, effectiveness rate and side effects; and, describe how the use and storage takes place. Methodology: Scoping Review, based on the procedures of the Joanna Briggs Institute. Searches were carried out in seven databases without time and language cut. Of the 8,122 studies found, nine were selected. Results: Emergency contraception was the predominant option among adolescents. Other types of contraceptives mapped were combined oral contraceptives. No studies have addressed the effectiveness rate, and misconceptions about its efficacy may allow for inappropriate use. The absence of more robust studies addressing this aspect of oral hormonal contraceptives reveals a gap in the literature. Side effects observed include nausea, headache, menstrual irregularities, and reduced libido. The analysis also identified erroneous beliefs, such as the need to take the pill minutes before intercourse and that it is safe to take three pills at once after forgetting two doses. No studies addressed the storage of oral contraceptives. Conclusion: The lack of information on efficacy and storage can compromise adherence and prevention of unwanted pregnancies, highlighting the importance of sexual and reproductive health education in schools and primary care, for informed decisions and autonomy of adolescents.
