The usual methods of teaching English have limitations, which are exacerbated by the lack of digital skills in both teachers and students, leading to poor performance in this subject across Ecuador. Therefore, the objective was to implement Kahoot in the English teaching-learning process with 331 students from the Unified General Baccalaureate of the Fiscomisional Educational Unit Hermano Miguel La Salle in Tulcán to improve their English language skills. We used a mixed and causal approach, combining field and documentary methods with a pre-experimental quasi-experimental design that included pre- and post-tests. The methodology consisted of interviewing 7 teachers and conducting surveys on Microsoft Forms and Kahoot with students to assess their English skills. We applied Kolmogorov-Smirnov as a normality test, and the results indicated that the question response distributions were not normal. Given this, we used the non-parametric Wilcoxon test to compare the pretest and posttest scores, as the number of samples exceeded 30. In conclusion, the use of Kahoot had a positive and significant impact on motivation for active participation and accessibility in learning English, as well as on competitiveness in learning English through games, but it highlights the need to train teachers to optimize its use and effectiveness in the classroom

Casabe is a very old food. Historically, it was the Arawaks, aborigines from northern South America, who began to make it by hand. Its origin dates back to the 18th century, since this time people have talked about this delicacy in Venezuela and it is found within Venezuelan gastronomy because it is a traditional component that cannot be missing in most homes in our country. This thin, lightweight cake, derived from cassava, has been claimed for more than 3.000 years. Cassava has a variety of foods that are located in a privileged place, occupying a prominent space in the dietary consumption of Venezuelans since the 16th century. However, in Caracas it also has its place of honor. Hence, the objective of this study is: to make theoretical contributions about casabe, starting from its historical aspects, until reaching the facts that have contributed to its permanence over time and its growing consumption. The methodology is a bibliographic design, with features of transversality and descriptivism, while the type of research is documentary and its level is historical, since the past is analyzed, to give way to other aspects inherent to future constructs.

Teaching bioethics in nursing can be challenging due to the high theoretical load, which may lead to disengagement among students. This study aimed to evaluate gamification strategies using the Kahoot! tool to improve the teaching-learning process of bioethics in the Nursing Degree Program at the Universidad Politécnica Estatal del Carchi. A mixed-methods approach was employed, with a quasi-experimental and pre-experimental design. The study was conducted with 17 bioethics students and one teacher at the aforementioned university. Data collection involved interviews with the teacher and Pre-Test and Post-Test surveys with the students. Statistical analysis included Wilcoxon signed-rank tests and Kendall's Tau correlations. Results showed a significant improvement in student performance after the implementation of Kahoot!, with positive ranks or ties between pre- and post-test measurements. Additionally, positive relationships were identified between some variables. In conclusion, the use of Kahoot! emerged as a positive strategy for student learning, motivating them, integrating them, and helping them retain the knowledge acquired in bioethics. This approach could offer an effective alternative to conventional teaching methods in the field of medicine.

Miguel La Salle, aimed to investigate the impact of using the Canva platform in teaching mathematics to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The research involved two groups of students: an experimental group that used Canva as a pedagogical tool and a control group that followed usual pedagogical procedures. Additionally, mathematics teachers were involved and received specific training in the use of this platform. The method employed included the application of tasks designed in Canva, adapted to meet the needs of students with SEN. The tasks focused on strengthening key mathematical skills through interactive activities. The results revealed a significant improvement in the academic performance of the experimental group, with an average increase of 2 points 2. This finding suggests that the integration of Canva into the teaching-learning process not only benefits students but also promotes inclusive and effective pedagogical practices. The study emphasizes the importance of teacher training in the use of digital platforms and the implementation of adaptive pedagogical strategies, especially aimed at students with SEN in the field of mathematics.

echnology advancements and the creation of new tools constantly shape the field of education. Globally, educators implement various educational strategies to enhance processes that teaching practice rapidly adapts to. To improve student learning performance across all knowledge domains, researchers are developing innovative models that expand exponentially. In this way, the students in Otavalo need to have technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge all incorporated into the TPACK model of education. This is why the research is focused on the seventh grade at the Unidad Educativa del Milenio Jatun Kuraka. It is a mixed-method study that uses exploratory, descriptive, and documentary methods to gather data from 77 students and/or teachers through surveys and interviews. Frequency scales are used to treat the data, which shows how important it is to quickly add technology to the classroom and train teachers on how to use it. It also shows the problems that had to be solved, like not having enough equipment and technical issues, so that the study could be finished. Lastly, the collected data was used to create a proposal that uses the TPACK educational model to teach reading comprehension. This led to the creation of a teaching guide that will assist teachers and students, improving students' academic performance and definitely making them better at decoding texts on their own.

Floriculture in 2021 registered a total added value of 567.43 million dollars, Ecuador has 278 flower companies with 6,963 hectares and a production of 4,416.10 million stems. In the study, Development Degree Days (GDD) were evaluated in two rose varieties (Explorer and Mondial), in five phenological stages, from pinch to harvest. The project was carried out in the months of September to December, a completely randomized design was applied with two treatments and 4 repetitions with eight experimental units, 500 rose rootstocks were used that were grafted with the Explorer and Mondial varieties. The variables in analysis were: GDD, number of days of change for each phenological stage and stem length and harvest prediction. The analysis of the data reported significant differences between treatments. The Explorer and Mondial varieties completed their cycle accumulating an average of 1356.94 GDD, and 1248.68 GDD respectively. The Mondial variety was the earliest with an average of 122.5 days to harvest and an average stem height of 91.5 cm; versus the Explorer variety; which showed an average of 131.5 days and stem height of 102.5 cm. To predict the appearance of phenological states in rose varieties, a regression analysis was carried out and the linear equations were obtained: y = 110.48X + 692.64; y = 75.39X + 974.69, for Mondial and Explorer respectively, with Y being the accumulation of Day Development Degrees; and X the manifestation of phenological states.

The research proposes pedagogical tools for teaching Multimedia in Higher Education, which promote collaborative learning, creativity and innovation. The research was developed within the framework of the International Congress of Multimedia and Audiovisual Production: Challenges and Opportunities in a Sustainable World, and compiles the research conducted by the conferences related to the integration of AI, storytelling and serious games to the process of teaching Multimedia at the Polytechnic State University of Carchi. The approach of this work was qualitative, with descriptive and documentary research. A bibliographic search was conducted in regional databases and SCOPUS, including inclusion and exclusion criteria, to determine research that present findings on didactic strategies for teaching Multimedia. The results showed that AI presents great benefits in the personalization of learning, adapting to design and creativity criteria to generate new audiovisual content, through the use of generative AI, natural language modules and intelligent tutoring systems. Digital storytelling, through such a common activity as storytelling, allows the development of different communication skills, concept apprehension, critical thinking and technological skills among students. Serious games transcend traditional education and present themselves as a creative, innovative, and, above all, engaging approach that motivates users, thus facilitating learning. It is concluded that there are limitations to the effective integration of AI, digital storytelling, and serious games, as there are insufficient regulations and policies to effectively guide teachers and students in building knowledge, prototyping, and multimedia designs using these strategies.

Aquatic ecosystems are extremely vulnerable to the effects of climate change, with wetlands being among the ecosystems that have undergone the most significant changes in recent years as a result of these processes.  Lake San Pablo, the largest Andean and tectonic lake in Ecuador, is surrounded by several communities that use its sacred waters for spiritual, touristic, inspirational, educational, cultural, and aesthetic activities. The cultural ecosystem services (CES) provided by the lake are increasingly threatened by climate change; these services are key to preserving ancestral and traditional knowledge, which offers valuable techniques for all communities.  The objective of this research was to analyze the effects of local climatic variations on the cultural ecosystem services (CES) of Lake San Pablo: spiritual and religious, recreational and tourist, aesthetic, inspirational, educational, site identity, and cultural heritage. These services were characterized through surveys conducted with 123 residents living in the wetland's area of influence. The results showed that 74% of the population considers tourism the most important CES, followed by the spiritual and religious service with 40%. Climographs developed from 2013 onward indicate a decrease in temperatures and an increase in precipitation. Mapping carried out between 2000 and 2020 revealed a 0.598% loss in water surface area, a 0.12% increase in vegetative cover, and a 0.46% increase in non-vegetated areas. Finally, the seven CESs evaluated in Lake San Pablo in terms of climate change are vulnerable to the constant changes in precipitation and temperature showed over the years.
