This study aimed to mobilize the collective/social memory of those affected by the Zabumbão Dam, focusing on their experiences with resettlement. The research employed a qualitative approach, using the Oral History method in its life trajectory modality. Data were gathered through interviews and questionnaires, and the research corpus was based on both documentary and bibliographic sources. The findings reveal that the Lagoa do Mato community was dispossessed of its territory, and approximately 52 families had their rights violated. Following expropriation, the community found itself unprotected and abandoned, compelled to seek new opportunities in various locations—most notably in Vila Nova, a neighborhood that emerged as a direct result of this phenomenon. As a result, the consequences were diverse, altering the way of life and having implications both in the material aspects of daily living and in the symbolic sphere, particularly concerning the memory and history of the resettled individuals.

In the 19th century, Brazilian society had a large market for wet nurses. The sale or rental of these women was constantly reported in newspapers, highlighting their qualities and the benefits of their services. Due to the need to feed and care for children abandoned in the Roda dos Expostos, the Santa Casa de Misericórdia of Maranhão was compelled to hire both enslaved and free wet nurses. In this article, we seek to understand this type of labor which, despite being criticized by the medical discourse of the time and associated with high infant mortality rates, was essential for the survival of the foundlings. To explore these issues, we examine press sources—such as advertisements, articles, and notices—as well as the Meeting Minutes Books of the Santa Casa de Misericórdia of Maranhão, which contain valuable information on the role of wet nurses in the Casa dos Expostos.

Walking through the museum's exhibition settings is an open space for teachers to talk about their conceptions, ideas and narrate their historical and life experiences. The objective of this article is to reflect on the experiences and sensibilities of History teachers during a walk through the collection of the Governador Valadares City Museum (MCGV) and the Abílio Barreto Historical Museum (MHAB) in Belo Horizonte/Minas Gerais. As for the methodological approach, we decided on a qualitative approach and adopted the walking interview as our research method, during which we visited the exhibition settings and asked questions using a semi-structured script, provoking the teacher about which objects on display are related to their experiences. lived histories. This research showed that the objects on display in both institutions were promoters of sensibilities and fertile ground for thinking about other times, other perspectives and new movements for History Teaching.

The article intends to analyze the relations between History and Memory about the political violence exercised during the Brazilian Civil-Military Dictatorship and the disputes around the narratives about the political prisoners, especially the "Inês Etienne Romeu" case. The files produced by the agents of the National Information Service (SNI) on Etienne will be explored here, presenting a brief mapping of their political trajectory, imprisonment and convictions. The court's decision to refuse the allegation of torture and rape, based on the irrevocable character of the Amnesty Law of 1979, by Antonio Waneir Pinheiro de Lima, (re)known by the nickname "Camarão", will also be analyzed.

This article analyzes the treatment given by the Brazilian justice system to the right to prior consultation in the context of violations of quilombola territories. It discusses the ways in which the Judiciary weakens the protection of traditional groups, ignoring basic notions about prior consultation. The problem is faced from a case study, consisting of the investigation of the impacts suffered by traditional communities in the last eight years, produced by the duplication works of the federal highway BR-135, in the north of Maranhão, Brazil. The quilombos affected by the construction projects currently support the continuation of the work, which has been authorized by court rulings that, while claiming to include protective measures for the territories, completely undermine prior consultation.

This article is based on the construction of narratives by women of different ethnic and racial backgrounds in the city of Arapoti, located in northern Paraná. Among them, the members of the Associação Quilombola da Família Xavier stand out, which has been undergoing a process of quilombola settlement since 2005 and was officially recognized as a quilombo in 2018. Its headquarters are located in an archaeological site listed by IPHAN. Another group is made up of women responsible for organizing the Museu Imigrante Holandês, which houses a collection of over 11 thousand objects and whose cataloging was also mostly conducted by them. The formation of this collection allows us to reflect on the place of women as guardians of memory, considering that the domestic space, historically associated with them, was also a space for preserving memories. Thus, the article proposes to problematize the narratives of these women in relation to local history and other sources, contributing to the construction of a more plural and diverse history.
