This article analyzes the contributions of oral history to understanding socioecological dynamics and valuing biocultural heritage as a key dimension of sustainability. Based on interviews collected in twelve projects of the Memória para Todos program, across diverse territories — rural, forested, coastal, urban and island — we explore the relationships between people, nature and place. Oral narratives reveal care practices, local knowledge, perceptions of environmental change and a recurring desire for participation. Structured around six analytical axes, the article argues that oral history enables access to situated experiences often overlooked by technical-scientific approaches. The interviews constitute ecologies of memory — devices that interweave knowledge, affect and action — and function as tools for environmental justice, cultural recognition and democratic governance. By proposing memory as heritage and a mechanism of intervention, the article contributes to rethinking the role of communities in environmental and territorial policies, advocating for an inclusive, situated and culturally rooted approach.  Memória para Todosprogramme, across diverse territories — rural, forested, coastal, urban and island — it explores the relationships between people, nature and place. This article analyzes the political uses of the figure of Lázaro Cárdenas during the presidential campaign of Luis Echeverría (1969-1970) and of his funeral in October 1970. It examines how Echeverrismo used his memory as a symbolic resource to legitimize a new political project, aimed at recomposing the link between the PRI regime and the social bases, in a critical context after the Tlatelolco massacre. The research is based on a qualitative methodology, with primary sources (campaign speeches, official press and archives) and secondary sources on historical memory, political traditions and socioeconomic development in Mexico between 1940 and 1970. The analysis identifies two of Echeverría's strategies: relaunching the agrarian reform as a “second stage” to modernize the countryside and co-opting the youth as a new support for the regime. The Cardenist memory was a field of dispute from which Echeverría sought to articulate a narrative of revolutionary unity and institutional renovation.

The article offers a theoretical reflection on the editorial materiality of oral history publications, taking the artist’s book and its expressive potential as a starting point. Based on the notion of mediatized performance, the text analyzes how graphic design, physical formats, and material elements can enhance the narrative depth of oral testimonies. The central argument maintains that the book is not a neutral medium, but a body derived from the performance of speech, capable of influencing how texts are received and how readers engage with them. By presenting a variety of editorial examples – single books, interview series, and experimental publications – the article proposes an agenda of collaboration between authors and editors, suggesting that oral history practices benefit from rethinking their publishing formats, emphasizing the articulation between content and form.
