Objective. The aim of this study was to analyze the feedback of individuals with obesity diagnosis after 8 Group Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (GCBT) sessions. Method. 13 patients with previous obesity diagnosis participated. The instrument was an interview conducted at the last meeting of the GCBT; subsequently, a Bardin’s content analysis was carried out. Results. The obtained data was organized into four categories: benefits of participation in the intervention; weight loss and self-esteem; improvement in nutrition quality; and improvement in physical health and life quality. Beyond weight loss, there was an improvement in the quality of nutrition, weight loss, well-being, self-esteem, and, consequently, in the quality of life. Aside from its application in obesity treatment, GCBT can be a promising approach in the treatment of other disorders.

Objective. The goal of this study was to explore the relationship between social anxiety (SA) and musical performance anxiety (MPA) in a Brazilian sample of singers. Method. This study is descriptive, observational, correlational and quantitative, with a non-probabilistic convenience sample of 252 singers (142 amateurs and 110 professionals). Participants answered a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Adult Social Anxiety Questionnaire and the Kenny Music Performance Anxiety Inventory. Results. A moderate and significant positive correlation was found between SA and MPA. Evidence suggests that APM is significantly higher in professional singers and soloists. The aspects of “Worry and Insecurity” are significantly higher in professional singers than in amateurs. In conclusion, SA and MPA are present in professional singers representing an aggravating factor in mental health. Professional singers and soloists can benefit from diagnostics and treatment in the area of music performance.

Objectives. To analyze the relationship between attachment and self-esteem in young people and adolescents, and to examine the relationship between self-esteem and social self-expression skills, integrating these results into a causal chain model. Method. 387 adolescents and young people completed self-report scales. Regression analysis and structural equation modeling were performed. Results. Both secure and insecure attachment predicted participants’ self-esteem. Likewise, self-esteem was a predictor of social self-expression. The study concluded that the secure attachment established with the caregivers increases the possibility of developing a strengthened self-esteem, promoting the individual’s ability to express oneself socially. Conversely, insecure attachment weakens self-esteem, leading to impaired social self-expression.

The aim of this article was identifying the processes that predict the optimal state of Flow in high performance university athletes. A sample of 75 athletes that participated in the Sinaloa State Universiada and Monterrey´s National Universiada with ages between 18 and 25 years (M = 21,26 SD = 1,89) participated in this research. The results showed that athletes presented higher levels of positive emotions accompanied with optimal state of Flow and lower levels of somatic and cognitive anxiety. Finally, the variables intrinsic motivation, positive affect, hours of training and economic support were the predict optimal state of Flow.

Objective: 1) To determine the presence of suicidal ideation in children and adolescents in Sincelejo (Sucre, Colombia), considering age and sex and 2) To compare the presence of suicidal ideation in children and adolescents who have experienced a victimizing event with those who have not. Method: Quantitative approach, descriptive-comparative and cross-sectional. 1704 children and adolescents participated in the current study, most of the participants were female (n = 1016 girls; 59.6%). Results: A higher percentage of children and young people presented suicidal ideation between the ages of nine and fifteen, however, the cases decreased from 16 years of age onwards. Compared with children and adolescents who did not experience victimizing events in their family, a higher percentage of children and adolescents who experienced victimizing events in their family showed suicide ideation or planned to commit suicide almost all the time (p = .30). Children and young people with experiences of threat (p = .01), murder of loved ones (p =. 03) and kidnapping in the family (p =. 13) have generally thought or planned to commit suicide in a higher percentage than those without victimizing experiences. Conclusions: The current research contributes to the study of suicidal behaviour in Colombia, its definition and associated risk factors in the child and adolescent population who have lived and who have not experienced victimizing events in the framework of the armed conflict in Colombia.

Law 26,150 -Comprehensive Sexuality Education- (2006) establishes sexuality education as a public political intervention in Argentina. However, its implementation is partial. The main obstacles are resistance from social sectors and traditional institutions and the lack of teacher training. This university project in the community was carried out at the request of a elementary school from Río Cuarto (Córdoba). During the project the teachers reflected and deepened their knowledge about C.S.E. The project has a qualitative, cross-sectional and exploratory design. Sampling is non-probabilistic and the sample is of typical cases. Twenty teachers from an elementary school from Río Cuarto (Córdoba, Argentina) participated in the project. The research techniques were ad hoc exploratory questionnaires, group dynamics and opinion polls. As a result, a distortion was observed between the teacher's perception of the knowledge of C.S.E. and real knowledge. Likewise, teachers positively value the C.S.E

Stigma in health professionals is an object of study that is receiving more attention, due to the key role they play in the recovery process, as well as in the implementation of interventions and the dissemination of mental health conditions encompassed by the concept of Serious Mental Disorder. The objective of this article is to carry out a systematic review of the research that addresses stigma in health professionals to know the current state of knowledge on this subject. The results point to complex relationships that are part of the phenomenon of stigma. On the one hand, due to the presence of stigma (beliefs, emotions and discriminatory behaviors) in health professionals, as well as relationships between this stigma and care practices. On the other hand, they also show professionals as objects of stigmatization and the stressful consequences of stigma in the exercise of their profession. Finally, a last category emerges that shows professionals as agents of destigmatization.

Emotional disorders are the result of a triple vulnerability. The pandemic context increased the appearance of emotional imbalances, and being an older adult in that context, constituted a psychological vulnerability that may have favored the appearance of emotional disorders, affecting the health and well-being of these people. Objective. Explore the feasibility and clinical utility of the online group Unified Protocol to improve emotional regulation in an academic context. Research with a quantitative, exploratory, descriptive and interactive approach, with a quasi-experimental design, pre-posttest for paired samples. Study with a non-probabilistic sample of volunteers that was formed by 13 students with an average age of 61.92 years (DT = 4.4; range of 55 to 70) of the University of Cadiz´s Elderly Classroom who received an online, synchronous, group psychological intervention for three months (from December 2020 to February 2021). Pre and post-intervention measurements were performed. The intervention consisted of 12 weekly 90-minute sessions. Instruments: OASIS, ODSIS, QLI-Sp, COP, PANAS, RRS, CORE-OM, BEAQ, NEO FFI, ad hoc sociodemographic data sheet, Satisfaction Scale and Treatment Assessment Survey. The results of the Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) showed a statistically significant reduction (p<0.05) in psychological distress: CORE OM Problem (t= 2.345; p<0.037), CORE OM Functioning (Z= -1.968; p< 0.049), CORE OM VISI (Z=-2.028; p<0.043) and CORE OM VISI-R (Z= -2.040; p<0.041). After the intervention, there was a quantitative increase in quality of life, optimism and positive affection; and a reduction in anxiety, negative affection, rumiative behavior, avoidant behavior and psychological discomfort. To know the size of the effect Cohen d was used, this was small in the different variables in study. High levels of satisfaction with the treatment were found and most of the participants were satisfied or very satisfied with the quality of the treatment. The preliminary results obtained justify the design of a randomized controlled trial to show the efficacy of the Unified Protocol in this context and population. It is believed that this type of intervention would satisfy the specific needs of this population and offer them a space for health care and promotion of their well-being from the academic context

The dimensional-categorical hybrid model for the diagnosis of emotional disorders postulates the existence of a set of shared dimensions associated with the etiology and maintenance of different emotional disorders (anxiety, depressive and related disorders). The Multidimensional Emotional Disorder Inventory (MEDI) was developed to efficiently evaluate the dimensions proposed by the hybrid model (neurotic temperament, positive temperament, depressed mood, autonomic arousal, somatic anxiety, social anxiety, intrusive cognitions, traumatic re-experiencing and avoidance) and already has validity evidences in Spain. The objective of this article is to describe this dimensional evaluation tool and compare its results with those obtained according to DSM-5 criteria in a clinical case series. We discuss the merits of the MEDI and the advantages of the dimensional transdiagnostic perspective for the psychological treatment personalization.
