Objective: To analyze the social vulnerability of family milk production units in El Marqués and Colón municipalities in the peri-urban region of the city of Querétaro. Methodology: Six social indicators were measured to build a social vulnerability composite indicator. A survey was applied to 52 family units. Results: The family units’ social vulnerability has medium level with a calculated value of 44.3%. Data show that security did not significantly affect producers despite the changing nature of territory; on the opposite, land tenure, organization and urbanization are factors that place the family units at a greater risk. Value: This research is different to previous studies on social vulnerability because it quantifies vulnerability with measurable indicators. Limitations: The survey did not include out of business family units. Conclusions: The social vulnerability composite indicator allowed to know that family units have developed adaptation strategies that reduce internal and external risks to continue carrying out their productive activities.

Methodology: The analysis is based on ethnographic fieldwork involving participant observation and semi-structured interviews with four people living with some type of visual impairment in the city. Results: León is a disabling city not only because of its road infrastructure, but also because its civic culture is oriented toward inhibiting the mobility of blind or visually impaired people. Value: By introducing the concept of motility, the article seeks to contribute with information to expand the spectrum of studies on disability and mobility. Limitations: This is an exploratory study that prioritizes rapport and the collective construction of knowledge over representativeness. Conclusions: Social class, public insecurity, and street harassment should be incorporated into disability and mobility studies.

Access to quality housing remains limited for low-income populations, largely due to the high cost of construction materials, particularly concrete. In response to this issue, the incorporation of additives such as glass fibers has emerged as a viable alternative to optimize concrete properties while potentially reducing costs. This article aims to analyze the effect of adding glass fibers on the mechanical and physical properties of concrete. The applied methodology consisted of an exhaustive documentary review, with a descriptive-comparative approach, based on previous studies that evaluated different fiber dosage percentages to identify an optimal range. The results show substantial improvements: up to 28% increase in compressive strength, 44% in splitting tensile strength, and 36% in flexural strength. Simultaneously, a reduction of up to 16% in concrete density was observed. It is concluded that the optimal glass fiber content lies between 0.2% and 0.3%, as exceeding this range may reverse the benefits obtained.
