Resumen
Introduction: Poor sleep quality is a prevalent and widespread problem in modern society. This disorder is common among medical students.
Objective: To estimate the prevalence of poor sleep quality and its association with physical activity (PA) and sitting time (SWT) in medical students.
Methods: Analytical cross-sectional study. An online survey was conducted from September to November 2021. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and the International PA Questionnaire were used. Crude and adjusted prevalence ratios (aPRs) were obtained using the Poisson regression model with robust variance. 95% confidence intervals (95%CIs) were used.
Results: A total of 545 students were surveyed. The prevalence of poor sleep quality was 86.06%. In the multivariate regression analysis, regarding sleep quality, an association was found with moderate PA levels (aPR= 0.88; 95% CI 0.76–0.98) and high PA levels (aPR= 0.73; 95% CI 0.65‑0.82). In the case of TS, an association was found with those who remained seated for 4 to 8 hours (aPR= 1.34; 95% CI 1.08‑1.68) and for more than 8 hours (aPR= 1.50; 95% CI 1.21–1.85).
Conclusions: A high prevalence of poor sleep quality was found. Moderate and high PA levels were found to be associated with a lower likelihood of poor sleep quality. Prolonged sitting time was associated with a higher likelihood of poor sleep quality.

Resumen
Introduction: Prediabetes affects 7.5% of the world's population and 22.4% of Peruvians over 25 years of age. However, 90% of people with prediabetes are unaware of their condition, which underscores the importance of the role of physicians in its detection and management.
Objective: To determine and compare the knowledge, beliefs, barriers, and practices about prediabetes in physicians at different levels of care in Peru.
Methods: Analytical cross-sectional study using a virtual survey of 1,225 Peruvian physicians from July to November 2022. Knowledge, practices, and attitudes about prediabetes were assessed using a validated questionnaire. Descriptive and bivariate analysis was performed comparing levels of care.
Results: Significant differences in knowledge were observed between levels of care, with better performance in levels II/III in identifying risk factors and diagnostic criteria (p< 0.001). There were no significant differences in initial management, but there were differences in the frequency of follow-up and use of metformin (p< 0.001). Level I physicians reported fewer barriers to lifestyle modification and metformin use (p< 0.001).
Conclusions: The differences observed suggest the need for standardized training programs and improved communication between levels of care. The lower perception of barriers at level I could indicate an optimistic view or less awareness of the challenges in implementing interventions. Strategies are needed to improve the detection and management of prediabetes at all levels of care.

Resumen
Introduction: University dropout impedes the personal and professional growth of students and has a direct impact on the development of a country.
Objective: To estimate the factors associated with the risk of university dropout in health sciences students.
Methods: Cross-sectional and analytical study, conducted in a private university in the region of Ica (Peru), between September and December 2023, with 347 students. A questionnaire with sociodemographic, academic and labor variables was used; and the main variable was evaluated by means of the scale for measuring university student dropout. A descriptive and multivariate statistical analysis was performed using generalized linear models of the Poisson family to evaluate the association between variables.
Results: 83.3 % of the students were female; 85 % were in first cycles; 18.2 % dropped out at some point and 89 % were younger than 25 years old. The socioeconomic (RPa= 2.63; 95 % CI: 1.84-3.02) and personality (RPa= 1.78; 95 % CI: 1.50-2.13) factors were associated with a higher risk of dropping out of university, while studying nursing (RPa= 0.760; 95 % CI: 0.604-0.956) was associated with a lower risk of dropping out. Likewise, studying obstetrics presented an unadjusted association.
Conclusions: The risk of university dropout is high in health sciences students.

Resumen
Introduction: Shoulder pain is the third most common musculoskeletal presentation in primary care. It is associated with functional disability, psychological disorders and deterioration in quality of life.
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma in the treatment of patients with non-traumatic painful shoulder.
Methods: Experimental study in patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain in the shoulder. The universe consisted of 197 patients and the simple random sample of 154. Two groups of 77 patients were formed: an experimental group that was infiltrated with platelet-rich plasma, a control group that was infiltrated with triamcinolone acetonide. The variables were: diagnosis, pain and functional capacity at 30 days, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months according to the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.
Results: Most patients had subacromial bursitis, 48.0% in the experimental group, 53.2% in the control group. The evaluation in both the control and experimental groups improved progressively from the first month onwards. The Friedman statistical test rejects the null hypothesis in all the evaluations performed (p= 0.000), that is, the treatments improve pain and functional capacity in the groups.
Conclusions: The effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma and triamcinolone acetonide in the treatment of non-traumatic painful shoulder is similar, with improvement in pain and joint function.

Resumen
Introduction: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common functional disorder that affects between 10% and 20% of the general population, with a prevalence in Peru of approximately 15%. Despite its high frequency, there is a lack of research on its associated factors in the country.
Objective: To determine the association between eating habits and irritable bowel syndrome in university students.
Methods: This was an analytical cross-sectional study with non-probabilistic sampling of university students from a private institution in Peru. The diagnosis of IBS was based on the ROMA IV criteria. Bivariate and multivariate analyses were performed using Poisson regression with robust variance to obtain crude and adjusted prevalence ratios (PRa).
Results: A total of 503 students were included. The prevalence of IBS was 11.13%, and 51.69% of students had poor eating habits. Multivariate analysis showed that students with poor eating habits were 1.25 times more likely to have IBS compared to those with healthy eating habits (PRa= 1.25; 95% CI: 1.17 - 1.33; p< 0.001).
Conclusions: Poor eating habits significantly increase the likelihood of IBS among the university students studied. It is recommended to promote healthy eating habits in the university environment and conduct further research on specific dietary interventions for this population.

Resumen
Introduction: Between 2016 and 2018, there was a critical decline in patient satisfaction at a public health center in Comas (Lima, Peru), associated with problems such as long wait times, high appointment dropout rates, and difficulty obtaining regular appointments. Given this scenario, evaluating the usability of a mobile application as a potential strategy to improve service efficiency is an ongoing challenge.
Objective: To determine whether the usability of a mobile application influences the satisfaction of patients served at the selected medical center between January and June 2023.
Methods: A quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design, explanatory level, and longitudinal section was carried out on 100 patients treated at a public health center. For this purpose, a self-funded mobile application was initially developed and used by the selected patients. Data were collected using the CSUQ and SERVQUAL questionnaires, and the dimensions of system quality, information quality, interface quality, mobile application usability, and patient satisfaction were assessed. The nonparametric Wilcoxon test was used for inferential analysis.
Results: A positive effect of mobile application usability on improving patient satisfaction was evident.
Conclusions: The usability of a mobile application in healthcare significantly influences improved patient satisfaction.

Resumen
This article deals with the origin and development of the military health of the Rebel Army during the guerrilla struggle in the territory of the former province Las Villas; aspect little studied so far. Its objective is to assess the military, political and social repercussion of the Military Health of the Rebel Army in the former province of Las Villas during the last war of national liberation. The organization of the Military Health of the Rebel Army during the Las Villas Campaign was systematized, scattered and inconclusive information in the historiography. The organizational capacity of this army and the validity of the strategy of Camilo Cienfuegos and Ernesto Guevara were demonstrated. This strategy more than fulfilled its political-social objectives and with its health principles, it laid the foundations for the future development of the health system in rural areas of the central territory of Cuba.

Resumen
Introduction: The emergence of multidrug-resistant pathogens, especially carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP), is a pressing public health issue. The limited therapeutic choices further compound this. The escalating resistance to colistin, a crucial last-resort antibiotic, underscores the need for precise and dependable antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) methods. Objectives: To evaluate the performance of the Colistin Broth Disk Elution (CBDE) method in comparison to the reference Broth Microdilution (rBMD) method for detecting colistin resistance in CRKP isolates. Methods: A cross-sectional study involving 129 non-duplicate CRKP isolates was conducted at Cho Ray Hospital from October 2023 to December 2023. Colistin susceptibility was assessed using both the BMD and CBDE methods. The agreement between the two methods was measured in terms of categorical agreement (CA) and essential agreement (EA) based on Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) criteria. Results: Of the 129 CRKP isolates, 23.26 % were identified as colistin-resistant by both BMD and CBDE methods. The CA between the two methods was 100 %, and the EA was 91.47 %, with no major errors (ME) or very major errors (VME) detected. Conclusion: The CBDE method has shown a high level of agreement with the reference BMD method, making it a reliable alternative for the routine detection of colistin resistance in microbiology laboratories. The study's findings strongly support using CBDE as a practical and effective AST method for colistin, thereby contributing to antibiotic stewardship.

Resumen
Introduction: The study of the Nursing Care Process (PAE) and in particular its teaching-learning, has been the subject of multiple investigations whose results have led to a better understanding for the application of theoretical foundations that solidify the praxis of the Nursing professional.
Objective: Describe the teacher's experiences during the teaching learning of the PAE.
Methods: Descriptive and exploratory study with a qualitative and phenomenological approach based on the Heuristic paradigm. For the study, teachers from the second year of the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, University of Medical Sciences of Holguín, Branch of Medical Sciences, were chosen during the first period of the academic year 2022. The population was made up of 50 teachers, the sample is 20 and the sampling was due to data saturation. A semi-structured interview was used to collect the information. Data verification was carried out through triangulation of researchers, in order to expand the perspective and depth of the research, as well as the analysis of the data and the conclusions obtained.
Results: Three categories define the teaching learning of the PAE by teachers: limitations in teaching (category I), limitations in learning (category II), importance of new didactic tools for teaching-learning (category III).
Conclusions: The professors of the Bachelor of Nursing program in Holguín perceive limitations during their experiences in teaching learning the PAE. The need to use new teaching tools is evident in order to improve the quality of teaching.
