Introduction: Diabetes mellitus should be approached from a holistic approach, where the motivational affective functioning of patients suffering from it is considered. Objective: To determine the motivational affective characteristics in chronic diabetic patients. Methods: A descriptive exploratory study was carried out with a mixed research paradigm, where quantitative and qualitative analyzes were integrated. Responding to this approach, the sample was made up of 10 chronic diabetic subjects, not intending that the findings derived from their study were generalized to the population, but yes, due to their inductive nature, they reflected the perspective of the person experiencing the phenomenon under study. For the research, the psychological analysis of the clinical history, the RAMDI (S), the Dembo-Rubinstein Scale, the Phrase Completion Test, the Composition Technique, as well as the semi-structured interview were applied. Results: Awareness of the disease was found, showing an adequate assessment of it, accompanied by an emotional commitment and personal elaboration in their reflections, where their experiences and life experiences are combined, and giving an emotional-motivational orientation to their behavior. Conclusions: The health category appears as a central and hierarchical motive in these subjects, but despite this, not everyone manages to regulate their behavior in an effective and healthy way. Introduction: Diabetes is a disease that affects pregnancy causing fetal complications; within them congenital malformations are frequent. Due to the practical and ethical impossibility of studying this process in pregnant women, it is essential to carry out experimental studies using morphometric procedures to determine if diabetes affects neurodevelopment. Objective: To characterize morphometrically the gray matter of kits from normal Wistar rats and those with pregestational diabetes mellitus. Methods: A basic experimental study of a series of cases was carried out on 20 young Wistar rats, of which 10 were descendants of pregestational diabetes. Morphometric indicators of the nervous tissue were characterized as thickness of the cortex and nuclear indicators such as perimeter. Results: The average height of the cortical gray matter showed a value of 1.224 ± 303.7 μm for the control group and 1.014 ± 376.0 μm for the cases. When applying the mean difference test, a significant difference was found (p ≤ 0.05) in favor of the control group. The values of the measurement of the nuclear perimeter in the control group was 42.80 ± 7.23 μm and in the experimental group the average was 39.68 ± 6.52 μm. When applying the mean different test, a significant difference was found (p ≤ 0.05) at favor of control group presenting greater nuclear perimeter. Conclusions: The greatest cortical thickness and nuclear perimeter corresponded to the control group, evidencing the deleterious effect os diabetes mellitus on neurodevelopment. Introduction: The rehabilitation team assumes an important role in the management of sequelae that may result from COVID-19 due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Objective: To characterize patients who have suffered from COVID-19 and relate therapeutic guidelines in rehabilitation with variables of interest. Methods: A descriptive study at the Santa Clara University Polyclinic, from January to September 2021. In all patients (322) with a confirmed diagnosis for SARS-CoV-2, by the polymerase chain reaction test in time real with negative exam at discharge. The variables were studied: age, sex, comorbidities, symptoms and presence of complications in the course of the disease, post-COVID-19 symptoms, rehabilitation guidelines. Absolute and relative frequency distributions were shown. In the statistical analysis, the test of independence based on the chi-square distribution was used. Ethical considerations were taken into account. Results: The male sex and the age group between 18 to 59 years prevailed; the most frequent comorbidity was high blood pressure. During the course of the disease, cough was the most frequent symptom and in the post-COVID-19 assessment, muscle weakness. A high percentage of cases required rehabilitation, either home or institutional. The need for home or institutional rehabilitation was more frequent in the presence of comorbidities and complications. Conclusions: Comorbidities and complications showed a statistically significant relationship with therapeutic guidelines. Introduction: Chronic subdural hematoma is the most frequent late complication of cranioencephalic trauma. The early diagnosis and correct treatment allow the recovery of patients. Objective: To systematize the different criteria of classification of chronic subdural hematoma that leads the multimodal evaluation for more effective selection of surgical technique. Methods: A review of literature about chronic subdural hematoma was done in the main database focused on different clinical and radiological classifications and 26 articles were selected. The main classifications and scales were chosen and applied to 22 patients, obtaining preliminary results. Results: Benders, Marckwalder and Gordon Firing scales are the most common, nevertheless there are tomographic classifications that include density, homogeneity of hematoma that are of great importance in the selection of the surgical technique. The presence of membranes and septum are only included in the evaluation of hematoma density. There are some others with predictive value that identify those factors related to recurrences before surgery that are considered a bad prognosis to the final evolution of these patients with this type of hematoma. Conclusions: The previous evaluation to surgery requires the use of different scales, the identification and characterization of membranes are important to select the optimum surgical technique to decrease morbidity and mortality after surgery.

This article addresses the study of the first neighborhood designed and financed by the Caja Popular de Ahorros, called Barrio Jardín and located in the city of San Miguel de Tucumán. Its recipients were the province's salespeople and industrial workers, who were given access to mortgages. This was the first response from the provincial entity for a low-income sector, to face the lack of housing. The housing development, inspired by the English garden city structure, transformed and applied to the garden suburb concept, had its architectural expression in the Californian chalet. The three extensions it underwent in subsequent decades followed the trends of the Modern Movement, both in terms of urban layout and its architecture. The research adopted a qualitative methodology, viewing the problem from a historical perspective. Although work began in the context of Juan Domingo Perón's first government (1946-1952), the extensions were made between 1962 and 1973, in other political and economic circumstances. The unit of analysis is limited to the first garden neighborhood of San Miguel de Tucumán, with its different stages of expansion, but the timeline covers the 1940s, 1960s, and 1970s. The goal of this article was to look through the urban–architectural lines applied in the different stages of the Garden Neighborhood's design, where urban land occupation and architecture were the product of the prevailing principles at their times.

This article describes the fundamental methodological lines that constitute the backbone of the project of study of the aljamas of Penàguila and Travadell during the Middle Ages. This is fundamentally based on archaeological survey work whose goal is to document and analyze the settlements and agricultural production areas of the Andalusian period, as well as their transformation after the Christian colonization in the 13th century. One of the main tasks undertaken is the establishment of a descriptive and interpretive basis that allows us to distinguish between the various anthropic activities that contributed to the creation of the archaeological surface record. In this way, the Andalusian rural site of El Olivar (Gorga) is described to exemplify the application of this methodology and synthesize the characteristics of the surface record that would be expected to be documented in the case of a rural habitat abandoned and transformed after feudal colonization.

We present a study of the metal jug containing the Caliphate dirham hoard found in the Parque Cruz Conde in Córdoba. We analyse its Byzantine typological precedents and its contemporary Eastern Islamic parallels. Likewise, a review is made of the possible routes of its arrival: from the coasts of the eastern Mediterranean or via the Atlantic in one of the various incursions that the Vikings made on the coasts of al-Andalus even sacking the city of Seville itself. Finally, we propose the historical context of its arrival in the Peninsula

The production of golden earthenware under the mandate of two kings of the Taifa of Seville, in the second half of the eleventh century, has been determined thanks to the Arabic writings present in more than a dozen samples found in the Iberian Peninsula. The legends that preserve three new fragments are a novelty and provide relevant information. With them, a comparative examination of the hypotheses raised on the development of the texts that hold the ceramic pieces of metallic reflection already edited has been carried out. The most relevant contributions of these earthenware are the presence of women in the work of elaboration of these pottery creations, the possible allusion to a workshop and the quote from the Sevillian citadel. The onomastics of those in charge of carrying out the work and the existence of one or more factories in which this earthenware was elaborated are discussed.
