La obra Pensar al revés. Trabajo y organización de la empresa japonesa forma parte de una trilogía de libros del autor francés Benjamín Coriat, que incluye los títulos El taller y el cronómetro (1982) y El taller y el robot (2007). Coriat, de formación sociólogo, filósofo y doctor en economía, es profesor en la Facultad de Economía y Gestión de la Universidad Sorbonne Paris Nord, además de pertenecer a la asociación Économistes atterrés —Economistas aterrados—, en la cual confluyen economistas posicionados en contra de la implementación de políticas neoliberales.

Partiendo de la experiencia cotidiana de los lancheros que dan recorridos turísticos en el Cañón del Sumidero, en Chiapas, México, este artículo describe cómo se incorpora uno de los proyectos de desarrollo más emblemáticos del estado de Chiapas —la presa hidroeléctrica Manuel Moreno Torres— a la vida cotidiana de las personas que viven en la región, a una generación de su construcción. El artículo sostiene que los discursos desarrollistas no han sobrevivido tanto tiempo como la represa, y que las lecturas contemporáneas de sus efectos más bien están inmersas en un marco ético general centrado en diversos ideales contradictorios sobre masculinidad.

En este artículo se realiza un estudio comparado de algunos principios que sostienen los sistemas jurídicos indígenas, con ejemplos de la comunidad Zapoteca serrana de Santa Catarina Ixtepeji, Oaxaca; la Nación Yoeme o Yaqui, y la comunidad Nahua de San Felipe Cuauhtenco, municipio de Contla de Juan Cuamatzi, Tlaxcala. El objetivo es observar perspectivas desde el sur, el norte y el centro de México sobre las concepciones propias del derecho en las naciones originarias con el fin de contribuir a la construcción de una teoría del derecho indígena desde la propuesta de la comunalidad.

En 1973 tenía 30 años de edad y me encontraba estudiando la maestría en antropología social en la Universidad Iberoamericana (Ibero). El director de mi tesis era el doctor Ángel Palerm. Bajo su tutela escribí varios textos que discutí con él y en los que incorporé las pistas que me sugería. Fueron publicados porque él los avalaba.

This paper aims, rstly, to reconstruct the debates and main events that were carried out by the Network of Afro-Latin American, Afro-Caribbean and Diaspora Women (RMAAD) during the years 2006 and 2019, a period that began with the III Meeting of Black Women of Latin America and the Caribbean. Characterized by a strengthening of internal structures and greater prominence of its regions. Secondly, one of its denitions and political strategies linked to the dialogues and articulation policies carried out by the RMAAD with other social movements such as the Afro- descendant collective, the feminist movement, the indigenous movement and the LGBTI or LGTB movement will be addressed. To do this, references will be mainly taken from in-depth interviews carried out with activists and representatives of the RMAAD. In turn, written documents such as conference resolutions and advocacy and evaluation plans produced by the organization itself will be considered. Both racial and gender issues were the main variables of oppression considered by the RMAAD, which facilitated alliances with indigenous women, with the Afro- descendant community and, to a lesser extent, with the white feminist movement

El 1 de enero de 2024 se conmemoró el 30 aniversario del levantamiento del Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional (EZLN). The impact of extreme natural events can be signicant on society, the economy and the environment and become part of the collective memory, especially if they have involved the loss of human life. Due to their greater scope of impact, natural events of geophysical origin, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions have been historiographically the most studied in Costa Rica, while events of hydrological origin that involve the death of people, such as landslides or large heads of water, have been little studied, not remembered or forgotten. This essay addresses a disaster that occurred in 1951 in Costa Rica in the district of Cervantes, canton of Alvarado, province of Cartago, which caused the death of more than a dozen people, to study the causes of why some natural disasters risk being forgotten. Recovering the historical memory of these events enriches the understanding of the collective society-environment dynamic in the community where the events occurred and the sites of occurrence can become natural museums that remember the evidence of the event as legitimate places of memory for the inhabitants of a community.

The Peace: A Warrior’s Journey es el último libro del teniente general Roméo Dallaire en colaboración con Jessica Dee Humphreys. Quizá para el gran público resulte desconocido el nombre del autor, pero fue él quien comandó la Misión de Asistencia de Naciones Unidas para Ruanda (Unamir, por su acrónimo en inglés) entre octubre de 1993 y agosto de 1994, para apoyar en un proceso de reconciliación entre las dos principales etnias de este país africano: hutus y tutsis.

This article examines the process of discussion and implementation of the Artigas Archive (1944) in Uruguay, focusing on the role played by Juan Pivel Devoto during the formation of the project. Drawing on unpublished documentation and institutional archives, it reconstructs the internal conflicts within the honorary commission responsible for the collection, with particular emphasis on the confrontation with Eduardo Acevedo Vásquez—an influential figure of the Colorado Party and of positivist historiography in the first half of the twentieth century. The research argues that the clash between Pivel and Acevedo was not merely about technical or personal matters but rather reflected a deeper conflict between two historiographical models: one, based on the chronological organization of documents and the supposed neutrality and objectivity of historical narrative; and the other, advocated by Pivel, favoring a thematic arrangement with explicit pedagogical and political intentions. The article highlights how Pivel, backed by political support and growing intellectual legitimacy, managed to impose his methodological vision and assume a leading role in the project. It concludes that the case of the Artigas Archive reveals how archives—far from being neutral repositories—function as battlegrounds where meanings, power positions, and historiographical legitimacies are contested.

This article analyzes the perceptions that the CIA and the United States Department of State had of the National Liberation Party and its main leader at the beginning of the 1970s: José Figueres Ferrer. The study is based on the declassified files from both instances of the U.S. government. The proposed analysis is carried out from a decentered perspective, which allows for a rethinking of the global dynamics of the Cold War from the agency and the conditions of possibility of Costa Rican actors in a scenario of political and ideological pressures. The article concludes that the perceptions of U.S. officials about Costa Rican politics can be explained by the autonomy gained by Latin American actors during the détente period.
