Resumen
Introduction: The post-exodontic alveolar atrophy requires quality bone regeneration techniques, and therefore, it is necessary to apply platelet concentrates, which are bioactive agents in the process of preserving the alveolar bone. The use of platelet concentrates proved to be an excellent osteoinducer since it leads to three important effects for maintaining bone structure. Objective: To analyze the use of platelet concentrates in post-exodontic bone regeneration. Materials and methods: A descriptive, explanatory study. A narrative review in which data was collected from 26 scientific articles published in scientific databases such as PubMed, Redalyc, ScienceDirect, and Ovid between 2012 and 2022. Conclusions: Platelet concentrates are physiological materials that speed up the healing time of post-extraction wounds. They are autologous since they are taken from the patient him/herself, reducing the risk of postoperative reactions, and the transmission of diseases by parenteral route. They relieve both inflammation and edema as well as post-surgery symptoms that appear after a dental extraction. They also help to preserve the alveolar ridge, avoiding long-term atrophy.

Resumen
In vivo studies in dentistry require a high level of precision, since they involve the experimentation with a living organism, and further comprehensive histological analysis to validate the initial hypothesis. However, the process to obtained the histological slides to be studied is often wrongly minimized. In order to obtain high quality histological sections, which may be able to react favorably to more complex immunological techniques, it is necessary to preserve or "fix" the tissues of interest in an optimal manner. Intracardiac perfusion fixation has been described as a technique that offers superior results to other tissue fixation methods, allowing not only adequate sample stability, but also a deep cleansing and hardening of the tissues to allow further manipulation. Through a variation of the technique, it is possible to occlude the main arterial supply of the abdominal region to maintain direct perfusion of the fixator in the region of interest, such as the maxillofacial and thoracic region.

Resumen
Dental education at the undergraduate level focus on the training of students to become successful clinicians with a solid diagnostic criteria and technical skills, ready to solve the patients’ needs. During this period, undergraduate students concentrate their efforts in obtaining as much knowledge of dentistry as possible, following the contents specified in the curriculum, and acquiring the skills through a series of clinical requirements which progressively increase in difficulty along the semesters. On the other hand, other aspects such as soft skills, defined as interpersonal, self-promoted and non-technical qualities are not being properly addressed, especially at the undergraduate level.

Resumen
Introduction: Through cone beam computed tomography, alterations in the maxillary sinuses, such as opacities, space occupation and thickening of the mucosa, can be observed. Some factors contribute to this thickening, standing out among dental factors, periodontitis, apical pathology and endodontic treatments. Objective: To evaluate the association between changes observed in the maxillary sinuses and apical lesions using cone beam computed tomography. Materials and methods: It was a descriptive study with a retrospective and cross-sectional, correlational, field, non-experimental design. The sample consisted of 115 tomographic volumes obtained using Planmeca ProMax 3D Classic equipment (Planmeca, Helsinki, Finland). The presence/absence of endodontic treatment in the present posterior teeth, presence/absence of periapical lesion associated with these teeth, the size of the periapical lesion, presence/absence of alteration in the maxillary sinus and its thickness were evaluated. Results: Apical lesions were observed that averaged a size of 3.32 ± 1.82 mm, and almost half (44.35%) presented between 2 and 4 mm in size. The main alteration of the maxillary sinus that was observed was the thickening of the mucosa (58.26%). The average thickness of the thickening of the sinus mucosa was 3.51 ± 1.78 mm, with 72.17% of the cases with thickening greater than 2 mm. Conclusion: There was an association between the changes observed in the maxillary sinuses and apical lesions. The larger and closer the lesion was to the sinus, the greater the thickening of the sinus mucosa.

Resumen
Introduction: Photodynamic therapy consists of the application of a light with an adequate wavelength on the cavities prior to the application of a photosensitizing agent, with the purpose of eliminating remnants of microorganisms remaining after instrumentation. Objective: Evaluate the adhesive resistance to dentin treated with 2% chlorhexidine and photodynamic therapy with a 660nm diode prior to the insertion of composite resin. Materials and Methods: In this in vitro experimental study, 60 bovine mandibular incisors were collected, after dentin wear, the samples were divided into 3 groups, with 20 samples per group: control group (no therapy was applied), 2% chlorhexidine, and 660nm diode laser (photosensitizer: methylene blue). Adhesive strength test was measured by shear test compared to kruskall-wallis test and post-hoc pairwise comparison. Results: The average values from highest to lowest result with the CHX (14.82 ± 3.14), followed by the 660nm diode laser (14.77 ± 4.02) and the control group (9.25 ± 1.16). Similar groups of 660 nm diode laser and 2% CHX changed values (P>0.05), but significantly higher than the control group (P<0.001). Conclusion: Photodynamic therapy increased adhesive resistance as well as chlorhexidine, both therapies presented an increase in adhesive resistance compared to the control group.

Resumen
AIM: To analyze stress in a metal-ceramic, zirconia and lithium disilicate implant-supported unitary fixed partial prosthesis in the first lower premolar through finite element analysis at a 500 N force. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Three study models were carried out, metalceramic, lithium disilicate and zirconium implant-supported crowns in the first lower premolar. The dental implant was made of titanium grade 5 based on the Bolt® model of UniDentalDirect with internal grooved connection (18 grooves) and the implant had a size of 11,0 x 4,5 mm, preformed abutment and integrated screw. The three designs had vertical and oblique (45°) forces applications at 500 N. The geometric modeling was performed with the SolidWorks® 2017 program and the results were obtained through the Von mises analysis using the CosmoWorks®2017 program. RESULTS: The lowest value of maximum stress on crown level, under vertical and oblique forces, was found in the lithium disilicate crown with 21,9 MPa and 33,2 MPa, and with a minimum difference with the zirconium crown with 22,1 MPa and 35,1 MPa; on the abutment level, the zirconium crown had the lowest value of maximum stress with 18,6 MPa and 28,1 MPa; at the screw level, there were no significant differences. CONCLUSION: Metalceramic, lithium disilicate, and zirconia crowns proved to be materials of good compressive and tensile strength, but it was concluded that the zirconia crown design generated lower overall stress.

Resumen
Abstract: To compare the diagnostic accuracy of digital radiography (DR) and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) in the detection of peri-implant bone defects. Materials and methods: Implants were placed in 5 fresh bovine ribs (3 without peri-implant bone defects, 12 with 1.4mm peri-implant bone defects) and images were taken using (i) portable x-ray system (DEXCOWIN 3000), (ii) intraoral x-ray sensor (SENSOR H1/SENSOR H2), (iii) volume-limited HSCT with 3D Accuitomo 80 (CASTELLINI). Images of each were randomly presented to 10 examiners. Confidence in the diagnosis of the presence or absence of a peri-implant radiolucency was recorded on a scale of bone defect definitely absent, doubts about the defect if absent or present, defect definitely present. Analyzes was performed using a kappa test. Results: There has been a coincidence between the direct digital radiography and the cone beam computed tomography in piece A of 83.3%, in piece B of 100% and in piece C of 88%, giving an average total coincidence 90.43%. Conclusion: Direct digital radiography provides the same results as cone beam computed tomography in the detection of peri-implant bone defects at an early stage. Digital radiographs are a reliable and valid method and perform significantly better than cone beam computed tomography for detecting peri-implant bone defects at an early stage.

Resumen
The article analyzes the content of education for global citizenship (UNESCO), questioningthe transformative perspectives announced and “pitfalls” contained in the text. It is madefrom a critical perspective, adding to the tradition of Marxism (especially Wood andMészáros), the peripheral and “decolonial” standpoint, highlighting the contributions ofPazello and Freire. It argues that, in the context of educational reformism, EGC is reducedto neoliberal discourse, an instrument of imperialism/coloniality, in the globalizationof capitalism. The article rejects this proposal and brings contributions to the reflectionon “emancipating” possibilities, through the decolonial critical and “tactical” use of thelanguage of education, human rights and democracy.

Resumen
The paper discusses the ideology of consumerism and its manifestation in the contemporaryworld order, marked by big digital data transfers. It is argued that such ideology plays acentral role today, naturalizing the act of consuming through its classic influencing tool, theadvertisement, which is enhanced by the technologies used by transnational data companies. As this mass consumption reinforces socially and environmentally regressive hegemonicprocesses, Cox’s method of historical structures is mobilized to present a proposal for acounter-hegemonic structure to the one linked to the ideology of consumerism.
