During the first third of the 20th century, the barracks of the Civil Guard and Carabineros were not typologically defined. This offered engineers and architects a great variety of solutions in which military references on the one hand and historicist language on the other predominated. José Joaquín González Edo had the opportunity, at this time, to work on this military type of building on the coast of Málaga. This resulted in a series of studies and proposals, in which he showed his contemporary architectural vision, together with the search for an optimal solution to the hybrid program of these barracks which integrated workplace and housing. It thus provides a historical and comparative analysis of one of his most interesting and unknown periods of production, formalized in projects mostly unpublished at present. The study finally culminates with the old Civil Guard barracks in Mijas, the only new project he built.

The ram figure stands out significantly in the animalistic symbolism in Christianity. The present article focuses on the diachronic study of the representations of this animal inserted within the iconographic type of the Sacrifice of Isaac, whose literary source is Genesis 22. The detailed analysis of this significant element in the Old Testament passage becomes essential when reading the first texts made by the Fathers of the Church, generating, in itself, the appearance of the angel carrying the ram, a typological variant in the future of the iconographic type in its continuity and variation. The objective, therefore, is to attend to those representations that are based on sources of the patristic, the Hebrew haggadah and the Islamic tafsir that are witness to the survival of the typological variants within the Western conventionalized cultural tradition.

As part of the controversial 1993 Whitney Biennial, Puerto Rican artist Pepón Osorio recreated the interior of a Nuyorican home in his work Scene of the Crime (Whose Crime?). This paper aims to unpack the installation’s critical dimension, to argue that it goes beyond the mere institutional critique. To that end, I will first examine the particular disruption of the aseptic museum’s space prompted by Osorio’s installation. Secondly, I will analyze the artist’s intentional use of Kitsch as a gesture of cultural resistance: through the exaggerated accumulation of objects and imageries, Osorio deftly called into question the conventional systems of visibility that operate within the institutional realm.

Aquest article té dos objectius. D’una banda, provar de resoldre la indefinició pedagògica i terminològica del Tractament Integrat de Llengua i Contingut. De l’altra, avaluar aquest enfocament des d’una perspectiva plurilingüe. Quant al primer objectiu, aclarirem la diferència entre conceptes com TILC i AICLE que, sovint, de manera errònia, es presenten com equivalents. Pel que fa al segon objectiu, revisarem una de les qüestions més recurrents en la majoria dels debats sobre educació plurilingüe com és la possibilitat d’adquirir la llengua meta sense posar en perill ni l’aprenentatge de continguts ni el de les llengües primeres. La inclusió de pedagogies basades en els gèneres textuals, el desenvolupament de la consciència metalingüstica de l’estudiantat o l’adopció de pràctiques translinguals semblen claus per a fer realitat tot el potencial didàctic d’un TILC de qualitat.
