The improvement of quality of life in urban environments can occur through afforestation, which contributes to air purification, improvement of the city's climate by retaining soil and air moisture, by generating shadow, preventing solar rays from affecting directly on people. The aim of this research was to evaluate the positive and negative environmental impacts of urban arborization through the report of residents of the municipality of Ibateguara-AL. Thus, a semi-structured questionnaire was applied with fifteen questions about Arborization, Totaling 50 completed questionnaires. Through the results obtained, it was possible to observe that the residents, have empirical knowledge on the subject, where arborization is associated only with trees and shade, yet do not possess adequate knowledge about all the benefits of afforestation For its maintenance. These data reinforce the need for planning the afforestation of the municipality, with the implementation of an environmental education project, seeking to raise awareness of the population of its importance.

Most health problems affecting the world's population are intrinsically related to the environment. Basic sanitation can be considered as an instrument for the prevention of diseases caused by the environment through human action. Thus, the objective of the present study was to survey the perception of the residents about the conditions of basic sanitation in the municipality of Teotônio Vilela – AL. Twenty-five semi-structured questionnaires were applied, addressing Basic sanitation issues. After the analyses we found the need to implement a basic sanitation network, so as to avoid diseases that are transmitted through the use of non-drinking water, the irregular destination of sewage and solid urban waste, which affect the quality of life.

ABSTRACT: The work consisted in evaluating the urban segregation in the city of Major Izidoro - Alagoas, analyzing the cases of Bairro de Fátima and the Terra do Leite subdivision in the variations of their urban landscapes marked by segregation. The study was based on the methodology of Silva et al (2017) and Oliveira et al (2017) that based on primary data analyzed the performance of producing agents and the generation of unequal areas in small cities. The literature review helped us to understand the social and economic issues of both neighborhoods, as well as their formation, organization, development and state intervention through works and public policies. We note that the city is fragmented when a sustainable and intelligent management is not opportune generating spaces of little democracy, landscape marked by unjust and intense differences and fragility of social rights. In short, the city of Major Izidoro is fragmented and articulated, a reflection and social conditioning, that is, the same schemes that prevail in the large cities of the capitalist world.   ABSTRACT: This article aims to discuss the importance of using participatory methodologies in research related to traditional communities. Brazil has innumerable cultural expressions, and for this reason indigenous communities, quilombolas, peasants, fishing, among others, maintain unique socio-spatial relations in their territories. Traditional hegemonic science has long made research questions invisible through cold and partial written methodologies that did not reach the identity territory of these communities. It starts from the experience of researches carried out in Colony Z-29, in São Pedro Village, in Jaramataia, Alagoas, to understand how ancient knowledge and practices are used to classify, by means of identification keys, different types of soils and their characteristics. Uses. From the observant participation, conversation wheels were held that were potentiated with the use of the mystical technique, seeking to know the fishing cosmologies in relation to the soils recorded in a field diary of the geoethnographic method. It is noteworthy that the ethnopedological approach not only served to classify soils based on traditional knowledge, but reflected the identity, collectivity and ancestry of a people who need another academic writing as potent as their orality. ABSTRACT: Quilombola communities are ethnic groups that relate specifically to the territory and traditions that are orally passed down for generations. Among these customs are the practice and use of medicinal plants as an alternative to healing and treating illnesses, as well as the use in rituals and religious beliefs. Within this context, the objective was to survey the use of these medicinal plants in the village of Cajá dos Negros, in the municipality of Batalha. This study was conducted through field visits with a questionnaire and conversation wheels containing questions related to herbal uses, forms of preparation used in the plants found in the quilombola territory. As a result, 39 species were identified, which are distributed in 27 families, especially Laminaceae, with 6 species, followed by Rutaceae and Anacardiaceae, 3 species each, generally cultivated in the backyards of the houses, establishing domestic spatial relationships. Other rarer species are found in Caatinga revealing the territorial mobility of the community. KEYWORDS: Ethnobotany, Knowledge, Traditional communities.

ABSTRACT: The June gangs bring a set of meanings and meanings that are attributed in the most diverse dimensions of social life, building representations about peasant work, religiosity, marriage and the way nature is viewed. That said, the present work aims to conduct studies on cultural hybridism involving junior gangs, that is, the focus is the investigation of this phenomenon in the municipality of Arapiraca, in Agreste de Alagoas, as it was possible to better understand how the These transformations in the June gangs are closely related to the changes in urban space, among which we can cite the rural exodus. As we consider these changes, we can perceive various ways in which they are experienced and (re) signified. June gangs for different groups in Arapiraca, for a focus on the cultural hybridism present in these manifestations. From the methodological point of view, we used direct observations of gang groups, visiting these gang collectives. These visits were important because they provided a direct observation of the social and cultural reality. Thus, it was possible to appropriate an interpretative analysis from a dense description, as proposed by Geertz (1989), allowing us to perceive the particularities through the flow and social discourse, respecting the cultural constructions of the subjects in particular events.
