Resumen
The agrofood industry (AFI) is one of the main branches of the manufacturing sector in Castile and Leon and Spain and one of the best performing activities in recent years of severe economic crisis. In these circumstances this industry appears as an important factor for territorial economic development. Within the AFI, the wine subsector has experienced considerable dynamism, placing Spain as the main exporting country worldwide in volume. The main objective of this work is to analyze the evolution of the wine subsector in the region of Castile and Leon, with particular reference to its export activity. In order to achieve this purpose, the position of the Spanish wine industry at the global level, its relevance in the national agrofood context and its performance in recent years are examined. After that, the particular case of this manufacturing sector in Castile and Leon will be analyzed, emphasizing its potential as a vehicle for both internationalization, thanks to the increasing export, and local/rural development.

Resumen
After the 2008-2009 Great Recession, the Spanish exports development has been positive. Some analysts attribute this behavior to the increasing number of exporting firms. To validate this hypothesis, we performed a decomposition of Spanish exports growth along the 1997-2015 period. Data show that the contribution of new exporting firms has gradually decreased, even in the period after the Great Recession. In addition, the evolution of firms in international markets is characterized by a gradual fall in both the survival rate of incoming firms and the value per transaction of new firms in foreign markets. Finally, the role of net inflow remains important for long-term export growth; but most of its contribution is concentrated in a small number of companies.

Resumen
The analysis of the long-term evolution of Spanish exports shows several positive features. Nevertheless, the analysis shows that there remain significant problems of quality and competitiveness, especially as compared with other developed countries. In order to achieve better results, appropriate economic policies are recommended. In this paper, use is made of an index of economic complexity and product density as instruments to analyze in which products the Spanish economy is more likely to diversify to. The analysis allows to argue in favor of active sectorial policies and also to formulate several lines of action of the public sector, to promote the development of products with comparative advantage.

Resumen
This paper presents empirical evidence of the existence of integration between country risk index EMBI(Emerging Market Bond Index) and the flow of foreign portfolio investment to the Mexican economy. Stationarity test Elliott, Rothenberg and Stock (1996) called ERS/GLS, which is complemented by the M/GLS test proposed by Ng-Perron (2001) is performed selected by VAR methodology of time series, are analyzed together which allowed to find evidence of the existence of a long-term relationship between the flows of foreign portfolio investment to Mexico and the EMBI index.

Resumen
In this article we investigate the effect of the European Union on trade and the influence of the European integration process on the flow of Spanish exports and imports with other European partners by estimating gravity equations with data for the period 1960-2012. The analysis suggests that the effect on trade of the European Union has been greater than that of other regional integration agreements taken together. Moreover, although the impact of accession to the European Union on trade for Spain has been very important, it is not the case for the 1970’s preferential trade agreement and more recently for the euro adoption.

Resumen
Using International Country Input-Output Tables this paper provides empirical evidence on the evolution of import content of the different components of global demand in Spain. Import content registered a significant increase since 1995 until trade collapsed in 2009; after the fall it recovered its pre-crisis levels in 2011. Spanish import penetration is lower than most European countries are, but higher than that of the four largest EU countries, particularly in high-tech industries. This higher import content might be explained by firm’s involvement in global value chains controlled by multinational companies as well as by firm’s engagement in international sourcing strategies to improve productivity and competitiveness. Finally, the deep dependence of final imports for high-tech industries reflects a lack of production capacity in those industries due to domestic technological weaknesses.

Resumen
In this paper we review the most important features of the progressive internationalization of Spanish firms and its main explanatory factors. This long process reflects the existence of a solid productive fabric which has been able to successfully develop in a context of increasing competitive pressure. The analysis of Spanish exports trajectory enables us to highlight their competitive strength as well as the new challenges that will have to be overcome in order to ensure a sustained economic growth.

Resumen
Unemployment, economic deprivation and poverty are social welfare indicators. All form a cycle of chained factors which begins with the loss of employ. The objectives of this study were to describe the trend of unemployment, economic deprivation, poverty and self-employment in men and women in Andalusia during the period 2000-2013, as well as evaluating possible significant changes in trend after the beginning of the Great Recession. The results showed a significant worsening of the indicators of unemployment, economic deprivation and risk of poverty in Andalusia since 2008. On the other hand, an improvement of self-employment was observed in both sexes.

Resumen
The aim of this work is to propose a statistical methodology in order to estimate the macromagnitud Gross Value Added per capita (GVApc) in the local geographical area. The procedure proposed consists in estimating a panel model which includes Griffith's spatial filtering (1996, 2000) to capture the spatial dependence in the whole analyzed period. The relationship between the GVApc of each province and a set indicators generates the coefficients that will be applied to the values of the municipal indicators, which allows foretell efficient estimates of the GVApc of the municipalities of the Region of Murcia.

Resumen
Economic and financial time series are widely considered as one of the most challenging applications of modeling and forecasting. The increasing in forecasting availability and the controversial debate about the advantages of alternative forecasting procedures suggest the need of further research on the forecasting evaluation metrics. In this context, this paper focuses on two information-based accuracy measures: Theil´s U Index and the Quadratic Information Accuracy Measure (QIAM), and aims to re-examine the empirical results of the M3-Competition by Makridakis and Hibon (2000), and specifically those referred to the subset of macroeconomic and financial series. The computation of the proposed accuracy indicators leads to new rankings of forecasting techniques, showing some similarities and disagreements with the main conclusions by Makridakis & Hibon (2000), found on five error based accuracy measures. The obtained results also allow a complexity–accuracy analysis.
