The university extension process requires being up to its time and in accordance with the dynamics of the environment, which is why continuous improvement of the Quality Management System is essential, through the use of Information and Communication Technologies. The article proposes to expose the necessary elements for the design of a management information system of the extension process, as well as the benefits that its implementation will bring in the quality management of said process in Cuban Higher Education Institutions. To fulfill the objective, a concurrent mixed investigation was carried out using theoretical methods (historical-logical, inductive-deductive and analysis-synthesis) and empirical methods (documentary analysis, interview, questionnaire and systematization). As main results, the essential conceptual aspects of the proposal were established, the characteristics of a management information system that contemplates the process and quality management in unison were defined, and the benefits provided by its implementation in process management were determined. extensionist, allowing its continuous improvement, as long as it becomes a reflection of the essential aspects of the management of the extensionist process, favors the availability and accessibility of information and improvements in management times, as well as the use of information to promote good practices and make decisions based on the facts, in order to perfect the process with the active participation of its actors.

Before the pandemic, reading was developed through printed texts; however, when virtual education was established, especially at the University level, it required a change in the teaching learning process. This situation raised new expectations regarding the reading of multimodal texts and the interaction of a social network: Facebook. The purpose of this research was to identify the levels of reading comprehension, in the exit exam with the application of multimodal texts in a social network. The research was developed with a qualitative approach, with an exploratory quasi-experimental and descriptive scope. The method used was inductive. The sample consisted of 186 students distributed in three sections (A, B and C) of the first cycle of a private university. They were subjected to two reading comprehension evaluations: beginning (traditional objective test) and exit (test with multimodal texts uploaded on a social network). The findings showed that the exit test with multimodal texts in digital support (Facebook) showed that the students reached a satisfactory level in the three levels of reading comprehension. In conclusion, the use of multimodal texts in a social network facilitated a new way of student interaction with reading.

COVID-19 evolved during the year 2020 until it reached the category of a pandemic, ranking as the greatest threat suffered by humanity in decades. The disease caused the beginning of a global economic recession with effects on all areas of society. Tourist gastronomy and teaching have been among the most impacted activities, which has generated changes and measures in them to reduce the levels of contagion and maintain the vitality of their processes. The objective of this work was to analyze criteria on the impact of COVID-19 in the field of tourist gastronomy, with emphasis on its consequences for the performance of the sommelier and their training needs. An exhaustive bibliographic review on the subject was carried out. The analysis of this confirmed the unfavorable impacts of the pandemic in the economic and social spheres; which allowed the identification of measures and action protocols for its mitigation within the gastronomy associated with tourism, which constitute criteria to consider for the improvement of the sommelier's performance and the process of its training in the current context.

Self-perceptions about teaching abilities are an important factor to examine the way in which academic processes take place at university level. In this context, the objective of this research was to analyze trainee-teachers' perceptions, in the last year of their degree, about their training process and the acquisition of strategies to face labor insertion. The research corresponds to a descriptive study, based on a qualitative approach. The sample was intentional non-probabilistic, consisting of 37 Chilean pedagogy students. Information was collected through a questionnaire prepared on a digital platform. In correspondence with the thematic content of the open answers, the categories of academic training, training for working life and teaching role were analyzed. The main results focus on the strengths identified by the student-teachers about themselves: didactic and disciplinary aspects, communicative skills, pedagogical vocation, and integral formation. Little practical experience and classroom management have been identified as some of the weaknesses. Although positive feelings such as trust and commitment or the development of strategies stand out, the findings reveal self-perceptions with a negative value, such fears and concerns related to effective problem-solving skills, employability, job insertion meeting others' expectations their teaching role.

The work addresses the importance of gamification as a didactic strategy in the teaching of English as a second language in basic education and high school in Ecuador. The objective of the research was to identify the importance of the application of the gamification strategy for the acquisition of vocabulary in English, in the post-pandemic. To achieve this purpose, an interview questionnaire was applied to six English teachers from Tulcán canton in Carchi´s province, defining elements of interest to achieve an effective application of this didactic strategy in the post-pandemic era. The results of the interview, together with the theoretical analysis carried out after consulting the updated bibliography, were interpreted and discussed with the qualitative method of methodological triangulation. It was determined that games to improve English vocabulary are very useful, which was much easier to achieve in the time of virtual classes due to the pandemic, and is currently difficult due to the scarce technological resources of public and mixed schools. The importance of expanding the range of games to be used in English classes and their cooperative potential was recognized, as a way to improve cognitive and socio-affective components in students.

This article responds to the need for the elaboration of a methodology for the job training of students of the Medicine career, which contributes to the improvement of their performances during the fulfillment of the functions of the General Practitioner aimed at solving a problem during their functions. assistance, teaching and research. A pre-experimental quantitative research was carried out using theoretical methods such as analysis and synthesis and empirical methods such as the review of documents, observation, the pedagogical pre-experiment and as mathematical statistics, the chi-square statistician was taken into account, which allowed verifying the existence of favorable impacts on the job training of medical students in teaching, care and research as a result of its application in a sample of 165 3rd year students of the Medicine career at the University of Holguín Cuba. The result can be generalized at a national and international level according to the characteristics of the medical student's professional training process. The methodology contributes to improving work qualities as an expression of a more positive performance of the student who is trained as a general practitioner in the face of teaching, care and research work.

The vision on the relevance of higher education materialized in the projection towards sustainable development and the ability to respond to the demands and needs of the country is of particular importance. International experience indicates that the creation of capacities and, particularly, the training of human talent, is a key element for promoting sustainable development. So the objective of this article is to determine the trends that characterize postgraduate training, in particular, doctoral training and its impact on sustainable development, until the beginning of 2020. Methods such as documentary analysis, content analysis and analysis were used. complementary methods such as analysis, synthesis, deduction, induction, and comparative education. Among the most notable results were the essential changes in postgraduate and doctoral education, the challenges of postgraduate studies at the international level, especially in Latin America and the Caribbean, the generic competencies of postgraduate and doctoral training, the types of training programs doctoral studies and the characterization of doctoral training and its impact on sustainable development.

The present work has an objective identify which learning styles predominate in the Statistics course, virtual university modality, third cycle. The study is quantitative and cross-sectional. For this, the CHAEA test was applied to 269 students from the Norbert Wiener University of Lima through the student's virtual platform. A descriptive analysis was carried out with the SPSS 24. The normality test of the scores obtained in each style was also applied and for the inferential analysis the non-parametric tests of Friedman and the Mann Whitney U were used. The highest average score was the Reflective style with 15.8 and the lowest was the Active style with 12.1 (p <0.01). When evaluating the score of each student, the most predominant styles were Reflective (43.5%) and Theoretical (21.9%). Likewise, a predominance in pairs of two styles was observed: Reflective-Theoretical (11.5%). A higher percentage of moderate preference was found in the Active, Reflective and Theoretical styles and a High preference in the Pragmatic style. There were no significant differences when comparing the styles by gender, faculty and type of student (validating and regular). In students under 20 years of age, the highest average was the Active style (12.7); while the Reflective style obtained the highest average in each gender, faculty, type of student and age group. The reliability of the CHAEA measured by the Kuder-Richardson coefficient was 0.803 and between the styles, 0.536 to 0.629.
