The focus on work-life balance has increased exponentially over the past two decades. Research has demonstrated that achieving this equilibrium leads to enhanced personal and professional satisfaction. Moreover, organizations benefit from improved work-life balance among employees, as it facilitates more efficient time and task allocation, thereby increasing productivity. The aim of this study was to estimate the effect of eight employee benefits on self-reported life satisfaction among workers. Logit equations were employed, utilizing data from a national well-being survey. The sample size exceeded 10 000 individuals, representing a population of over 30 million employees in Mexico. To assess the impact on well-being, the benefits were ranked from most to least frequent. The most common benefit was the mandatory year-end bonus (‘aguinaldo’), while profit sharing was the least frequent. Results indicated that employees with a higher number of benefits have a greater probability of reporting satisfaction with their current and future life. The study also reports that the positive effect of employee benefits increases when organizations complementarily implement other labor strategies, such as annual income increases and considering employee opinions. The estimates were consistent, thus providing useful evidence for managers to design organizational policies that simultaneously contribute to employee well-being and promote higher productivity in both the short and long term.

This work analyzes the effect of the functional value of WeChat (considering both time and cost reduction as such value) on the attitudinal and behavioral loyalty of Chinese entrepreneurs residing in Spain. To this end, the methodology combines a qualitative and quantitative approach, first conducting in-depth interviews with ten business owners of Chinese nationality residing in Spain, which then allowed for surveys to be conducted with a sample of these individuals. The results obtained through descriptive statistics and regression models have shown the key influence of the functional value of this social network (especially that derived from cost reduction) on the attitudinal and behavioral loyalty of these entrepreneurs. The findings have led to several recommendations for management.

in countries with economies characterized by underdeveloped financial markets and limited availability of stock market information, the traditional CAPM model presents limitations in its application, making it difficult to value companies in this environment. The objective ofthis research was to estimate the expected accounting operating performance for different Ecuadorian business sectors, using an adaptation ofthe CAPM model based on accounting data, specifically the operating return on equity (OROE). To this end, a series of historical data taken fromthe Superintendency of Companies, Securities and Insurance database for the period 2013-2023 was analyzed. The sample consisted of 374,340observations. Estimates were made using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method, obtaining the following results for the Required AccountingReturn values, locating the minimum value of 9.69% in the Transportation and Storage sector, compared to the Arts, Entertainment and Recreationsector, which presented the maximum value of 15.16%. The work concluded that, in the case of Ecuador, the use of accounting data and accountingBeta emerge as an alternative to traditional models. This generates a more precise way to analyze the balance between risk and return in thefinancial decisions of unlisted companies, providing a replicable methodology in economies with similar contexts.

The leadership style of administrators influences the performance of the companies they manage; however, most studies focus on relating it to economic and operational performance, ignoring social and environmental aspects. This study reports a structural equation model that relates transactional and transformational leadership as independent variables to social, operational and environmental performance as dependent variables through six hypotheses to quantify the relationship between these variables. To validate the hypotheses in the model, a questionnaire was designed and applied to managers of production processes in the Mexican maquiladora industry. 156 valid questionnaires were obtained, and the information was entered into SPSS v.24 software for filtering and validation. The model was evaluated using the least squares approach and reports a sensitivity analysis based on conditional probabilities for high and low occurrence scenarios in the variables. The results indicate that transactional and transformational leadership styles positively influence the social, operational and environmental performance of companies. However, transformational leadership has a greater impact than transactional leadership on each of the three types of performance measured, so it is concluded that, due to the nature of the maquiladora industry, it is better to invest resources in developing transformational leaders who have greater vision and inspiration, and who empower, motivate and develop their staff.

The management of a company’s working capital is of great importance in the current scenario, especially because of its impact on operationalefficiency. Business sustainability can only be achieved by organizations that maintain a balance between profitability and liquidity. Thepurpose of this research was to examine its impact on the performance of microenterprises engaged in wholesale and retail activities in Ecuador. To this end, secondary data from 1,634 companies registered with the Superintendency of Companies, Securities, and Insurance for the year 2023were used. Through a statistical prediction technique, it was possible to identify the elements of working capital that are associated with theperformance of the selected firms. The results show that variables such as leverage, company age, equity strength, and operating profitabilityhave a positive relationship with profitability. In contrast, the average collection period and asset turnover did not reflect significant effects, whilehigher customer turnover was negatively associated with financial performance. These findings show that efficient management of the elementsthat make up working capital favors not only profitability but also stability and the creation of business value. In a competitive environment withlimited access to financing, these practices are crucial for strengthening the permanence of microenterprises in the Ecuadorian business structure.

the aim of this study was to empirically analyze the relationships between the dimensions of organizational justice, job satisfaction, andorganizational commitment with work happiness and turnover intention among academic workers in Mexico. To this end, a sample of 393 higher education faculty members in Mexico was surveyed. The statistical technique of structural equation modeling (CB-SEM) was used to analyze thedata. The study’s results show that, on the one hand, the variables of job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and organizational justice areinterrelated among these workers, and on the other hand, that these variables positively explain work happiness and negatively explain turnoverintention. This information is relevant for university leaders to undertake a strategic direction oriented towards Happiness Management. Thisway, their human capital can perform their professional activities in an environment of positive emotions, creativity, joy, and subjective well-being.

Instagram has become a major platform for online shopping, especially among the younger generation. Understanding the factors thatinfluence impulsive buying on social media has become increasingly relevant for marketers. This study examines the influence of Instagram usageintensity, extroversion, and positive shopping emotions on impulsive buying behavior, with a particular focus on generational differences betweenGeneration Y and Generation Z. Data were collected from 442 respondents through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using SmartPLS 3.3.2to test six hypotheses. Validity and reliability were assessed using Cronbach’s alpha, composite reliability, and average variance extraction (AVE).Findings reveal that for Generation Z, frequent Instagram use and positive emotions significantly drive impulsive purchases. In contrast, forGeneration Y, extroverted personality traits have a stronger influence on buying decisions. These results highlight distinct psychological patternsacross generations in online shopping behavior. The study provides practical insights for marketers seeking to tailor their strategies to meet generationalpreferences. By identifying different behavioral drivers, it contributes to the growing literature on digital consumer behavior and guidesbrands operating in social media environments.

Human height is a variable trait that is highly heritable and sensitive to socioeconomic constraints within and between populations. The aim of this work is to describe and characterize adult height in Argentina according to socioeconomic indicators, considering their influence on the geographical distribution of the trait, and to evaluate the impact of these socioeconomic characteristics at two points during ontogeny. This study analyzed 15,840 adults from the National Risk Factors Survey of Argentina. Data were grouped by province, following the regional categorization proposed in the survey. Three socioeconomic indexes and coefficients were considered: Human Development Index, Unsatisfied Basic Needs, and Gini Coefficient. Generalized Mixed Additive Models were used to estimate the impact of exposure to socioeconomic variables on height in two moments of ontogeny, adjusted by sex, including province of birth as a random intercept. Argentina displays a gap in territorial development, with a latitudinal pattern from north and south to the center. The lowest averages in height were observed in the northernmost provinces of Argentina, with extreme socioeconomic conditions. Provinces with high population density conglomerates displayed the lowest stature. The effect of sex was significant but homogeneous across the analyzed developmental intervals. Argentina shows disparities among regions and provinces in the pattern of height variation. Gender-based differences were observed, but no distinctions emerged between different developmental intervals.
