This study addresses the need to predict the price range of mobile phones based on their technical characteristics. Therefore, it asks: ¿How do technical characteristics determine price range? The purpose is to develop a predictive model to classify them within their corresponding range. The methodology included a descriptive analysis, standardization of numerical variables, and division of the dataset for training and testing. Relevant findings derive from the application of two classification algorithms: Support Vector Machines (SVMs) and Neural Networks (NNs). For SVMs, penalty values and kernel types were iterated, while for NNNs, a sequential model with dense layers was designed, converting the output to a "one-hot" format. The results showed a strong correlation of variables such as RAM, battery capacity, and screen resolution with price range. According to the classification reports and confusion matrices, better accuracy was obtained with the SVM classifier (linear kernel, C~392) compared to NNNs. It was concluded that classification with MVS is a more convenient method compared to RN.

This research develops the design and simulation of an automatic medication dispensing system, in a home environment, to improve medication adherence in older adults diagnosed with chronic cardiovascular disease, integrating Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial neural networks (ANN) technologies. The system allows for automatic storage and dispensing of medications, identifying the patient's intention to take them according to the scheduled time. The mechanical design, developed in Inventor software, uses ABS plastic for the chassis walls and polypropylene for the compartments. Medication identification is performed using a computer vision system, using a Raspberry Pi 4 B mini computer and a Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 Wide camera. To detect the intention to ingest, an MPU6050 gyroscope, an ESP32, and a button placed on the patient's wrist are used, whose movements are analyzed using ANN. The electronic architecture includes sensors, motors, and an audiovisual alert system, all communicating with the Raspberry Pi 4 B. A mobile application enables family members or medical personnel to record dosage data and track the patient's medication adherence process. A 12 V DC power supply was selected, and in case of failure, a 16 Ah battery provides a three-hour battery life. Tests reported 100% accuracy in identifying the name on the medication boxes (98.44% in validation) and 97.68% in motion detection (98.57% in validation). Simulation in CoppeliaSim confirmed the functionality of the design.

The Pomapunco Bridge, located over the Mala River in the district of San Lorenzo de Quinti, showed progressive deterioration that compromised its structural safety under extreme hydraulic conditions, especially in the presence of turbulent flow. In response to this, the following research question was posed: How was the turbulent flow analyzed for the redesign of the Pomapunco Bridge over the Mala River in the district of San Lorenzo de Quinti, Huarochirí? A quantitative and applied approach was adopted, including the collection of field hydraulic data, computational simulations using specialized software, and the use of fluid dynamics mathematical models. The study focused on three critical variables: hydraulic resistance, fluid velocity, and viscous forces. Scour depths were determined for return periods of 50, 100, 200, and 500 years, with values of 7.00, 7.00, 7.00, and 8.00 meters, respectively. A design flow of 1,534.95 m³/s was also estimated for a 100-year return period, considering a 20-year service life and a 20% failure risk. It was concluded that a rigorous and standards-based technical analysis of hydraulic parameters allowed for the establishment of key criteria for a safer and more durable structural redesign.

This research proposes the implementation of Respiratory Care Modules based on the Assessment of existing Health Technologies, with the purpose of strengthening the response capacity of the Pediatric Emergency Hospital. To this end, a methodology focused on the assessment of health technologies was developed through the preparation of a technical file that includes the required equipment, its technical specifications, and a cost analysis. This proposal is based on information from national and international manufacturers of medical equipment, with the objective of having a tool that facilitates its agile and effective implementation in the event of respiratory conditions such as Acute Respiratory Failure (ARF). As a result, a set of non-invasive respiratory support equipment, monitoring systems, clinical furniture, and complementary elements is proposed, distributed in an area of 60 m², with an estimated cost of 58,542.75 US dollars for the medical equipment.

Robotics, as an integrative discipline encompassing mechanics, electronics, control, and computing, has transcended its original conception as mere automation engineering to emerge as a field where artificial intelligence (AI) serves not only as a control tool but as the very architecture of autonomous behavior. This ontological shift in robotic development, driven by disruptive advances in deep learning, probabilistic inference, and neuromorphic computing, has transformed the relationship between body, perception, and decision-making. Today’s intelligent robots are not simply mechanical devices animated by software; they are cyber-physical entities capable of constructing internal models of their environment, projecting consequences, learning from experience, and operating under both physical and semantic uncertainty. At the core of this evolution lies intelligent perception, which has progressed from reactive sensing schemes to contextualized sensorimotor cognition. Traditional sensors have been augmented through embedded hardware integration and edge signal processing, enabling simultaneous interpretation of multivariate signals. RGB-D cameras, LiDAR systems, and hyperspectral sensors are paired with deep convolutional architectures, while distributed haptic sensors based on piezoresistive elastomers and capacitive matrices enable detailed interpretation of physical contact, integrating into recurrent neural networks to model interaction dynamics in real time. In medical contexts, microfluidic sensors embedded in robotic arms enable monitoring during high-precision surgeries, while in social robotics, multimodal sensors coupled with computational attention models infer human affective states in ambulatory settings.

Many multi-family and commercial buildings in the city of Lima have been built without following updated seismic standards, generating the presence of structural deficiencies such as the use of short columns, poor quality of the selected construction materials and inadequate anti-seismic design, which increases its level of vulnerability to earthquakes and represents a latent challenge for engineering professionals and municipal authorities regarding risk management, therefore, the following question is formulated, How will the application of pushover analysis be for the evaluation of seismic performance in a 9-story building in the district of Santiago de Surco?. The presented research was of applied type, descriptive level, had a quantitative approach, the method used was hypothetical-deductive and statistical; and the design was quasi-experimental. To carry out the research, a multi-family home had to be modeled in the ETABS analysis software and pushover analysis applied to evaluate the seismic performance of the structure. As a result, the maximum floor distortions were 0.0051 and 0.0013 for the X and Y directions respectively, obtaining acceptable deformations within the linear range, therefore, it was concluded that the building meets a good design criterion for plastic hinges, which allows it to have an acceptable seismic demand and correct performance during a seismic event.

The original peoples of Madre de Dios have occupied this territory for more than 5,000 years. Seven centuries ago a situation of relative autonomy passed when the Incas arrived through the first land routes that allowed access to what is currently the department of Madre de Dios. In the republican period and especially in the 20th century, definitive routes of penetration were opened that dramatically changed the social and environmental panorama. The study is descriptive, mixed approach with qualitative predominance, longitudinal design, applying the documentary review technique and qualitative techniques complemented with quantitative data and information. In the first decade of the 21st century, the construction of the Southern Interoceanic Highway was completed, which section III crosses Madre de Dios. The consequent social and environmental impacts, resulting from these different moments and visions of development, have been severe and they are evaluated in this study.
