This study provides light on the distinctive features and operational dynamics of homestay accommodation in Santiago, San Francisco Camotes Island, Cebu, by providing a thorough exploration of their present profile state. To support the homestays that are already operating in the area, this study assesses the degree of compliance of lodgings with the Department of Tourism's homestay guidelines. In order to evaluate homestay operations, the researchers employed a quantitative and qualitative research approach. The LGU and homestay operators are the responders considering Santiago had been selected as the study's chosen environment. The DOT homestay standards criteria served as the foundation for the self-created questionnaire. The study's findings demonstrated that, in terms of homestay locations and amenities, the homestays had completely accomplished with the requirements. The study shows that there is variation in the types of rooms, amenities, and management approaches, which gives visitors a more personalized and authentically local experience. The Homestay Program alleviates the shortage of accommodation by offering rooms in Santiago, San Francisco, Camotes Island, to visitors. In-charge of overseeing these homestay lodgings, host families are essential, taking a hands-on approach to everything from food preparation to laundry and room maintenance. This high degree of participation creates a unique and genuine ambiance that makes visitors feel like they are part of a community. The researchers concluded that in order to improve the homestay operations already in place in the destination, workshops and seminars should be provided to the homestays, who have the ability to seek for certification.

Fear of losing is seen as a stressor of athletes in winning competitions. The study employed quantitative research design to investigate the pre-competition anxiety experienced by high school athletes and its connection to their motivation for achievement wherein 154 athletic students from three representative high schools in Zhejiang, China were involved. It utilized various statistical techniques to describe demographic characteristics such as gender, grade level, and training duration. Mean comparison and analysis of variances were applied to identify variations in pre-competition anxiety based on gender, grade, and training duration, while correlation analysis was used to establish significant relationships between pre-competition anxiety and achievement motivation. Findings revealed that pre-competition anxiety level of students is above the average level, but not categorized as high level, as previously assumed in the hypothesis. They displayed a greater inclination towards fear of failure motivation, with achievement motivation falling within a moderate range rather than high. Gender, grade, and training duration showed significant differences in pre-competition anxiety, whereas self-confidence did not exhibit significant variations based on training duration. Findings concluded that fear of failure, although not the main factor, directly affects the significant positive correlation between pre-competition anxiety and achievement motivation.

Political participation is an essential element in establishing a stable democracy. With the advancement of technology, scholars argue that Facebook use influences political participation. In the Philippines, Facebook is one of the most popular social media platforms, and it is used daily for various reasons, such as to know and engage in political issues. However, most studies in the Philippines involving Facebook or social media dwelled on the traditional forms of participation in politics. Hence, this paper aimed to fill the gap by examining the influence of Facebook on the political participation of college students in the selected universities in the Philippines through Chen and Chan's Cognitive and Communication Mediation Model in 2017. The study employed a non-experimental quantitative approach using an exploratory research design with path analysis. The finding shows that motivations for Facebook use, such as guidance, surveillance, and social utility, are significantly linked to online and offline political participation as mediated by news use, expression, political knowledge, and internal political efficacy. In conclusion, the path model indicates that respondents' Facebook use directly and indirectly influences online and offline political participation.

Policymakers’ legislative performances guide constituents for informed electoral choices. However, the lack of empirical inquiry on the legislative effectiveness of the members of the House of Representatives in the Philippines subjected constituents to rely on 'self-legislative' reporting among incumbents seeking re-election. This study aims to determine the legislative effectiveness of the House members of the 16th Congress using their primary authored bills. Utilizing the Legislative Effectiveness Model (LEM), the sponsored bills are weighted and computed to become the individual member's Legislative Effectiveness Score (LES). The study further investigated variables that affect the legislative effectiveness of House representatives. Results revealed that during the 16th Congress, House members filed an average of 24 bills within the three-year term. Additionally, each member's legislative effectiveness is improved by chairmanship to legislative committees, either standing or special. The study concluded that the 16th Congress House of Representatives comprises policymakers who are averagely effective in pushing for policy preferences into the legislative process and to laws.

This study provides a Marxist analysis of Dwein Ruedas Baltazar's film Third World Romance. It aims to uncover the deeper meanings within the film’s dialogues and scenes, particularly focusing on the struggles of Filipino individuals from marginalized communities as they search for stable employment to achieve financial security and meet their daily needs. The analysis highlights the class struggle and the exploitation of the working class by capitalists, especially in their pursuit of fair wages and equitable labor practices. Additionally, the study critiques how resilience is often romanticized as a coping mechanism in the face of personal challenges, masking the underlying social issues. Through the characters of Alvin and Britney, the film offers a realistic portrayal of the socio-economic conditions still affecting many Filipinos today. This Marxist critique serves as a lens through which recurring societal problems such as inequality, exploitation, and economic hardship are examined.

Data was collected through a survey questionnaire administered to 527 identified graduates of Marketing Management from RTU's Mandaluyong and Pasig campuses, employing a quantitative descriptive study methodology. The questionnaire addressed graduate profiles, program selection rationales, employability data, college competencies, and the relevance of current roles to marketing sectors. Demographic data has revealed a gender imbalance favoring women, along with a significant proportion of single individuals. This study indicates that numerous graduates secured employment within six months of graduation, reflecting a high level of employability among them. Over time, notable career advancements were observed, illustrating the program's effectiveness in promoting professional growth. Graduates prioritized critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills in their initial employment. Tailored professional development programs should address the diverse needs of students, while curriculum enhancements should focus on advancing disciplines such as sales, customer service, account management, sales promotion, and advertising. Enhancing practical skills is advisable, and fostering robust industrial partnerships is recommended to improve graduates' employability. This tracer study offers valuable insights by proposing curricular improvements to align graduates' competencies with industry requirements. Educational institutions can adequately address industry demands by using these strategies to ensure graduates are well-prepared for successful jobs in marketing management. Subsequent research initiatives explore innovative facets and adapt to the evolving market demands.

This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of barcode system for tool monitoring and inventory management in a laboratory environment; to improve productivity among students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff while promoting a sense of responsibility. The developed and tested barcode system saved time, minimized errors, and enhanced technological learning in tool transactions. The 80 participants involved in this study were from the AMT program at Philippine State College of Aeronautics, including 1st and 2nd year students, faculty instructors, and AMT tool keeper. Mixed-method approach was employed. Demonstration of barcode system initiated the participants to evaluate and provide feedback regarding its usage and benefits, which was assessed using Likert scale. Statistical treatments (frequency and percentage distribution, weighted mean, and independent sample t-test) were utilized for analysis. The barcode system surpassed participants' expectations, and met requirements for tool monitoring and inventory. Participants strongly agreed on the system being accurate, technologically advanced, and cost-effective. Implementing the system can enhance borrower tool keeper accountability,  and improve transaction convenience and efficiency. These findings suggest that replacement of manual process with barcode system is highly recommended despite the need to improve security measures. The results could be used in proposing improvements and effective implementation for the current tool monitoring system in the AMT laboratory. Overall, this research showed benefits of implementing barcode system for the students, teaching, and non-teaching staff. Implementing barcode system would allow the institution to equip students with knowledge and experience through advanced technology aligned with the practices in aviation industry.

Nursing students face many challenges during their clinical training, including academic, financial, and psychosocial pressures. These pressures can cause stress, anxiety, and low self-esteem, which can affect their performance. Academic performance is critical for success, but the COVID-19 pandemic has led to widespread school closures, impacting millions of students worldwide. Traditional clinical education methods have limitations, especially during a global health crisis. Clinical instructors must find innovative approaches catering to remote or hybrid learning environments. This study aims to uncover nursing students' experiences and the effects of restricted face-to-face modalities on their learning journey, clinical skill development, and readiness for clinical practice. The researchers used the qualitative thematic analysis method, interviewing seven participants during the 2020-2021 academic year at Jose Rizal Memorial State University—Dapitan Campus. The study revealed that nursing students face various challenges due to restricted access, limited exposure, and financial constraints. As a result, they experience anxiety, depression, disrupted sleep patterns, and stress-induced eating habits. While blended learning has advantages, some students struggle with technology, time management, and course organization. Student perspectives emphasize the need for understanding, support, and compassion amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Blended learning has brought up accessibility and affordability issues. Instructors need to evaluate students' readiness and create effective educational plans. Institutions must acknowledge students' experiences and backgrounds and be empathetic and inclusive. This study highlights nursing students' challenges during limited face-to-face learning and stresses the importance of collaborative, empathetic approaches during global education disruptions.

This study determined the language status of Northern Catanduanes spoken in Caramoran, Province of Catanduanes, and a language spoken by the local folks but not widely used outside of their community. Conducted at the height of the pandemic, the Functions, Acquisitions, Motivations, Environment, and Differentiation (FAMED) conditions identified the common factors that determined the level of language use, while the Expanded Graded Intergenerational Disruption Scale (EGIDS) measured the level of language use and vitality. Ten participants who are native speakers were selected through purposive sampling based on the Sustainable Use Model (SUM) that provided the framework for evaluating the sustainability of Northern Catanduanes. The data were collected through online focus group discussions (FGD) and survey questionnaire. The findings suggest that the EGIDS level for Northern Catanduanes is Level 5 Developing, which means “the language is being used by some though this is not yet widespread or sustainable language is in vigorous use with literature in a standardized form.” It does not enjoy the same vigorous use and prestige as the other languages of the Bicol Region, because not much is written in Caramoranon; though the locals see its importance as they widely use the language. But it is not the dominant language in trade, government, and education. A coordination with the local education sector, Bicol University, and the Local Government Unit (LGU) for the creation of a working orthography of the Caramoran language is highly recommended by the key informants to reinforce the conditions of sustainable language use and the preservation of the local Caramoran language including comparative studies to gain insights about language vitality that may lead to crafting orthographies and strengthening the MTB-MLE program.
