Desde 1944, The Americas ha sido una de las principales revistas en inglés sobre historia latinoamericana. Se incluyen artículos y reseñas sobre historia y etnohistoria de todas las regiones de las Américas y sus antecedentes ibéricos. También son bienvenidos temas sobre historia económica, política, cultural, social, religiosa, diplomática o intelectual de América Latina, el mundo Atlántico y las regiones fronterizas de México y Estados Unidos, así como trabajos de investigación con enfoque comparativo.

The Americas has been one of the principal English-language journals of Latin American history since 1944. Articles and reviews in history and ethnohistory about all geographical regions of the Americas and their Iberian background are included. Topics dealing with the economic, political, cultural, social, religious, diplomatic or intellectual history of Latin America, the Atlantic World, and the U.S.-Mexican Borderlands, and research that places these themes in a comparative framework, are welcome.
