During a helminthological survey on freshwater turtles from the Brazilian Amazon, we collected fresh and well-preserved nematodes from the stomach of Podocnemis unifilis Troschel, 1848, that resembled Orientatractis leiperi. The morphology and morphometry of specimens described herein fits those from the original description. We also observed important morphological characters not reported previously or not properly described, and those are reported here for the first time: the structure of the excretory pore (surrounded by radial cuticle striations), structure and position of deirids, phasmids, oral papillae and the presence of a dorsolateral pair of papilla in caudal region. The present work provides a detailed redescription for O. leiperi, 50 years after its original description, adding a new host and locality for this species.

Occurrence, abundance, and distribution of fishes in intertidal rock pools are influenced by environmental and biological traits that determine habitat quality. Fishes actively inhabit areas that represent the most suitable habitat for their development. For the intertidal fish community of El Zonte, physical and structural traits of rock pool habitat, as well as habitat complexity, were examined in relation to fish occurrence, abundance, species richness, and body length. Fish occurred in only 18 (40%) of 45 rock pools. A total 309 fish representing 9 species were recorded. The most abundant species were Bathygobius ramosus (160 individuals, 52%) and Abudefduf concolor (88 individuals, 28%). Fishes were absent in rock pools of volumes less than 0.29 m3 and with surface roughness lower than 4.7%. Rock pool volume and surface roughness were related to fish abundance and species richness. Surface roughness was more important to fish abundance and species richness in rock pools of small volumes, but its contribution was limited in larger rock pools. Fish length and rock pool volume were also related, with larger fish generally occurring in larger rock pools. This study presents insights into the factors influencing fish occurrence in tropical intertidal rockpool systems of the Tropical Eastern Pacific.

At Rome, the public violence grew as a part of the daily habits of the roman society. Roman state did not develop tools in orden to coertion, so that the protection and self-defense of the eventual victims were competence of the families. Since the myth, the history of the Rome was a succession of violent facts, as murders, treasons, rapes, robberies and other felonies, being the same king Romulus, the conditor, a violent leader. In this paper, we analyse the notion of that popular violence in the classic writers, the function of the custom, the violence of the magistrates, everything in relation with the way of being free, frank and direct, a distinctive qualities what distinguished to the roman people.

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the implementation of telemedicine in Honduras to meet the needs of patients with or without suspected disease. This study evaluates the implementation of the Virtual Solidary Clinic COVID-19 in Honduras during its first three weeks. Methods: The clinic opened on March 12, 2020 thanks to the collaborative work of the Aliv.io telemedicine company, the Fundación Lucas para la Salud and Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana en Honduras. The digital platform has an electronic patient record and a video call system accessible by cell phone, tablet or computer. Patients had the option of consulting with 5 general practitioners and 2 medical specialists available to patients across the country. Results: 54 tele-consultations were carried out in the first three weeks of operation, 46 (85%) were seen for the first time and 8 (15%) were seen as follow-up cases, the average age of patients was 33 years, living in seven departments of the country and three Honduran living in foreign countries. Only 4% had criteria to suspect COVID-19. Time per consultation was from 17 to 30 minutes. User´s satisfaction rating was positive in all cases. The main barriers reported were internet navigation difficulties by users, some patients attributed that to perceived platform complexity, problems with internet quality and lack of technology skills. Conclusion: Users had good acceptance towards the virtual clinic, and the experience pointed to some aspects that should be improved, this will be taken into account for the continuation of the service during the pandemic, especially regarding advertising and education for users.

Introduction: Digital health expands healthcare and continuing medical education, and it is a new tool in Honduras. The study assessed the satisfaction of users of a pilot telehealth network at Hospital Gabriela Alvarado in Danlí, El Paraíso. Methods: A telemedicine station was set in this hospital. The Vydeo equipment and software donated by the Telehealth Center of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) were used. Teleconsultation with medical specialists in Tegucigalpa and tele-education with topics taught by MUSC and mainly by the Hospital María in Tegucigalpa were announced. The study had ethical approval from the participating institutions. Results: Eleven teleconferences were held for hospital health personnel. From 29 teleconsultations, 5 were unsuccessful, of those, 18 (75%) were first-time and 6 (25%) were follow-ups; 67% were for neurology, 21% for pediatrics and 12% for internal medicine, taking an average of 34.6 minutes per consultation. Eighty three percent of patients had never consulted these specialties before. Patients reported an estimated saving of L. 1,562.00 (approximately US $62.00) per visit, 100% of them would use telemedicine again. Conclusion: Attendance to tele-education was low, but patients showed high satisfaction with the teleconsultations. Improvement aspects include institutional participation, sound and image quality, connectivity, and availability of medical consultants in specialties.

During the first weeks of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in Honduras, a 66-year-old female patient was admitted to the ICU with a 5-day history of cough, fever, and respiratory distress. She had contact with a COVID-19 patient in previous days. The chest radiograph showed signs of bilateral ground-glass opacities (A). Since the RT-PCR was negative, a computed tomography angiography was done at day 7 to rule out a pulmonary embolism. This showed a diffuse, patchy, bilateral increase in density with ground-glass opacities, poorly defined edges, and slight predominance in subpleural regions (B and C). There was no evidence of a pulmonary thromboembolism. The swab test was repeated at day 7, resulting positive. In this case, the clinical and CT findings were highly suggestive before RT-PCR confirmed the diagnosis. This is the first COVID-19 case with a false negative PCR test in our hospital. She recovered fully.
