Resumen
In December 1965, the Theater of the University of Concepción (TUC, 1945-1973) premiered the first known work that intended an approach to musical theater produced entirely in this local context: La flor de la laguna, by Roberto Navarrete Troncoso. This piece reveals aesthetic priorities, political concerns and dispositions to contingent problems that, in their intersections, show the regimes of visibility-invisibility that defined the paths of dramaturgy in a provincial territory. With an approach based mainly on local history, we propose an analysis centered on thematic and musical contents, which allows reconstructing the position of La flor de la laguna as a singularity within the theatrical-music poiesis of Concepción, which responds to the needs of innovation, claims for local contents and critical sensitivity to contemporary political-social contingency.

Resumen
This article evaluates the limitations that formalist musical analysis finds when studying the popular music developed in Buenos Aires between the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. In order to account for these limitations, we analyze an estilo (a vocal popular music genre usually accompanied by guitar) played at the end of the nineteenth century in the theatre and circus adaptations of the novel Juan Moreira written by Eduardo Gutiérrez. Firstly, we introduce the definitions of this genre found in some early musicological works and we examine the influence that these definitions have in the estilo’s analysis. Secondly, the estilo played in Juan Moreira is described and contextualized, and it is developed a formal musical analysis of its changes between the end of the nineteenth century and the first decades of the twentieth century. Finally, we study the particular performance and the signification processes of the selected example and, after that, we highlight the tensions that arise between the etic and emic conceptualizations of this genre.

Resumen
This article presents perspectives on the artistic trajectory of Juan Allende-Blin, composer and researcher that was born in Chile (*1928) and resides in Germany since the 1950s. Beside of exploring some aspects of his poetics and contextualizing them within the general context of musical avant-garde in the second half of the 20th century, the article comments his own research projects about the musicians and artists that were forced into the exile during Nazism, manifested in publications, radio programs, and concert curatorship. The artistic exchange between Allende-Blin and his life partner for more than six decades, the organist and composer Gerd Zacher, is studied with a closer analysis of Allende-Blin’s Mein blaues Klavier (1969/70) for organ, with accompaniment of street organ and mouth harp. Finally, his “sound collages” are explored as places of individual and collective memory.

Resumen
Julian Bautista settles in Argentina after Francisco Franco claimed power in Spain. His concert production at this stage is not extensive, however the themes he addresses and the stylistic characteristics of the works of this period show his process of adaptation to the musical environment that welcomes him. In this paper, first, an analysis of the development of his compositional style is made in this period and, later, some connections of this material are established with the cultural and musical framework of Buenos Aires.
