An innovative B.S. in Neuroscience was approved in 2016 by the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Faculty of Medicine, after 8 years of growing up programs and maturing administrative matters. This Neuroscience career gives students academic formation in disciplines of the brain worldwide with an integrative approach. Thus, B.S. in Neurosciences grows insights to learn about and investigate brain at multiple levels, from molecules to behavior with an interdisciplinary perspective, including two broad ways: preparation for on-going science-oriented programs in a standard research field to be engaged in, at a postgraduate stage, and development of skills and competencies that apply to a range of postgraduate areas, including health, diagnosis, clinical and behavioral therapy, cognitive and behavioral neuroscience and education. To do so, a variety of challenges were raised in the newly born neuroscience program leading to a wealth of experiences both academic and operative in several ways as expected and, to some extent, unexpectedly. Mayor concerns, however, arose from the students in emotional adaptive behavior to a new environment in a demanding program. On the other hand, teaching neuroscience, even by connoted scientists, was a matter of concern in bridging the gap from postgraduate to undergraduate programs with much scaffolding and divergences to work out. Finally, we gladly though no easily learned how every effort or arrangement might convey both, properly and accurately, to ensure progress in every neuroscience direction to really overcome difficulties. At present, we look for and follow improved ways in continuous feedback and evaluation of the instruments that are crucial in all educational process.

Introduction: Academic success and failure in graduate physicians is an issue that is taking importance in modern educational research, it results essential to locate its origin at the confluence of multiple factors, among which are the use of inadequate learning strategies. Objective: Analyze the characteristics of the learning strategies presented by the medical students of different years. Method: A quantitative, observational, analytical, crosssectional study was carried out, in which the Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI) was applied to medical students, internal doctors and resident doctors of diferent programs. Results: A total of 180 students were studied, 60 for each subgroup (students, interns and residents). Five of the ten scales studied are below the average. When analyzing the three components as a whole using the Z test, none is above the expected average. Although some scales are statistically significant, they are not as a whole, so the strategies of study, learning and attitudes are deficient in the three grades studied. Conclusions: It is evident the homogeneous behavior shown by residents, interns and students in the learning process, there is no upward curve as would be expected.

Introduction: Burnout syndrome is a pathological disorder that persistently affects internship students in hospitals of Lima. Objective: To determine the frequency of burnout syndrome in internship students who initiate-culminate the internship and determine their related factors. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted with medical students of the last year (n = 165) between December 2017 and March 2018. The Maslach Burnout Inventory scale was used in Spanish. Results: the frequency of burnout syndrome was 33% and 35% for internship of 2017 and 2018, respectively. About half of the internship students presented a high degree of Stress Psychological and a high depersonalization; being the most frequent burnout syndrome in the hospitals of the Ministry of Health (OR: 2.3, 95% CI: 1.1-4.6, p = 0.010). The internship reduces recreational activities by 3 times (OR: 3.2, 95% CI: 1.7-6.2, p = 0.0022) and produces poor sleep quality in the medical students of 2018 (OR: 5.3, 95% CI: 2.6-10.8, p <0.05). The rotations with the highest frequency of burnout syndrome were gynecology and pediatrics. Conclusions: There is persistence of burnout syndrome in internship students compared to previous studies. Having less than 25 years of age, carrying out the internship in hospitals of the Ministry of Health and the difficulty to move to the hospital site were related to the burnout syndrome in internship students.
