La simulación clínica se sustenta como una estrategia educativa que incorpora la práctica deliberada que mejora los resultados para lograr competencias deseables en comparación con la práctica clínica tradicional. De aquí que en instituciones educativas existe interés por desarrollar centros de simulación con base en tecnología de alta fidelidad.

Purpose  ̶  to study the effect of the fruit removal and two thermal regimes on the germination of D. lucidum, and the effect of such factors, and seed age on the germination of B. gracilis.Methodology  ̶  were established randomized blocks experiments. The statistical analysis was performed with mixed models. Results  ̶  the germination of D. lucidum was affected by the interaction fruit removal*temperature (p≤ .0001), it reached 95.8 % at 20/17 °C, without fruit. In B. gracilis, germination was influenced by fruit removal (p= .0323); without fruit it reached a mean of 89.3%, with fresh seed or one year old seed, at 30 or 25/20 °C, without effect of age nor temperature. Limitations  ̶  in future works must be identified the potential germination chemical inhibitors. Findings  ̶  we consider there is chemical dormancy in both species, its germination would be favored by solubilization of inhibitors from the fruit by rains arrival (or with fruit removal).

Purpose  ̶  to analyze the context of legislation that allows the creation of spin-off companies derived from research results of the academy in Mexico. Normativity and its implications are also evaluated.Methodology  ̶  literature, public policies and regulations are reviewed as well as some interviews with areas in charge of their operation. Results  ̶  consensuses in the construction of the conceptual framework and procedures are identified; however, the policies that these organizations have implemented to accompany this process are not clear.Limitations  ̶  they focus on the need to continue the systematic analysis of how universities encourage the creation of spin-off companies. An approximation is presented and the effectiveness in the survival of these companies will have to be evaluated. Findings - findings point to the existence of Knowledge Transfer Offices to aid in the basic capacities of the creation of university spin-offs although some offices have not had institutional support for the concrete creation of spin-off companies.

Purpose: To determine the dynamic modulus through ultrasound in Enterolobium cyclocarpum, Tabebuia rosea and Juglans pyriformis wooden specimens.Methodology: 35 solid wood and 35 laminated wood specimens were prepared in order to determine their moisture content, apparent densities, ultrasound speeds and dynamic modules.Results: The magnitudes are different between the two types of specimens. For both solid and laminated wood from E. cyclocarpum. T. rosea and J. pyriformis, apparent densities increase but ultrasound speeds decrease.Limitations: Results are limited to the case study for E. cyclocarpum, T. rosea and J. pyriformis woods. The conclusions refer to the experimental conditions detailed in this investigation.Findings: The dynamic modules of the laminated wood increase in comparison to the parameters of E. cyclocarpum and T. rosea solid woods but decrease for J. pyriformis.

Purpose: To critically evaluate one of the ideas of Evolutionary Psychology (EP), namely, the idea that with the architecture of the mind and the methodology of this kind of psychology, a theoretical bridge can be built between the natural sciences and the social sciences.Methodology: Philosophy’s own method is followed. Results: The idea of the unity of sciences originating from EP is problematic.Limitations: In future studies, specific EP aspects must be evaluated to know its feasibility and it will be necessary to examine other theoretical projects that attempt the unity of science.Main findings: EP’s attempt to unite the natural and social sciences is questioned because: 1) its vision of evolution is debatable, and 2) the current social studies about cognition are hardly compatible with EP.

Objetivo: analizar en qué medida la debilidad institucional del estado mexicano ha impedido que los pobres se apropien de las TIC para obtener un ingreso sostenido en el mercado laboral a fin de salir de la pobreza por sus propios esfuerzos. Método: el diseño metodológico utilizado fue exploratorio-secuencial y se basó en una mezcla de métodos cuantitativos y cualitativos. Resultados: los resultados muestran que la debilidad institucional del estado mexicano impide que las personas se apropien de las TIC para ampliar sus oportunidades de obtener un ingreso sostenido en el mercado laboral para salir de la pobreza por sus propios esfuerzos.Limitaciones: la limitante principal en este estudio es que los datos recolectados pertenecen a un solo estado de la República Mexicana. Principales hallazgos: el cuestionario aplicado a ex-beneficiarios de la política anti-pobreza del programa Prospera cuenta con un nivel de confianza aceptable para hacer generalizaciones sobre las condiciones laborales de las personas en situación de pobreza que tienen entre dieciocho y veintinueve años y que terminaron el nivel educativo medio superior en el estado de Aguascalientes.

Purpose: To determine the prevalence of gastrointestinal diseases associated with the use of contaminanted water in households lacking drinking water and sanitation in the Mezquital Valley in Hidalgo.Methodology: Data from the 2012 National Health and Nutrition Survey was used. A binomial logistic model was developed which considered sociodemographic variables as well as others related to the sources of water supply and sanitation in households.Results: There are statistically significant differences in the probability of becoming infected with a disease depending on the origin of the water source that reaches households, its frequency as well as lack of drainage and direct discharge in the toilet.Limitations: The results are representative of the region but not of each municipality that integrate it.Main findings: Lack of basic services and access to drinking water increase the probability of gastrointestinal events in households in the Mezquital Valley. The implementation of public policy strategies in terms of coverage of basic services is recommended as well as water treatment programs that minimize the effects on health due to domestic use.

Purpose  ̶  to analyze Mexico’s integration strategy in the global aerospace industry considering entry barriers with regards to regulations, property rights, standardization requirements and financing which limit upgrading. Methodology  ̶  a global value chain methodology from the Global Value Chain Initiative perspective was utilized and also graph theory. Results  ̶  the results of this integration strategy show that although Mexico has diversified its trade significantly, it remains marginal and irrelevant in the context of global aerospace trade a circumstance that has persisted for more than two decades.Limitations  ̶  Graph theory allows us to define the scope of Mexico's aerospace trade; however, it is limited to define local linkages, which we know are not significant due to the literature review. Findings  ̶  the integration strategy to the GVC followed by Mexico has failed since it has not been able to scale towards activities of greater value; besides, Mexico's participation in world trade is still marginal.

Purpose: To analyze whether the internal branding processes of a service company enhance employees’ Organization Based Self-Esteem (OBSE), and whether self-esteem in turn positively influences employees’ pro-brand motivation and brand performance.Methodology: A model of structural equations was estimated using the technique of Partial Least Squares and a sample of 248 collected questionnaires in a chain of casual food restaurants in Mexico City were used. Results: Adjustment with brand values and employee participation had a positive and significant impact on self-esteem, which in turn had a positive and significant impacts on pro-brand motivation and brand performance.Limitations: The sample comes from a single organization that hires only female staff only, which limits the generality of results. Findings: Organization based self-esteem contributes to the delivery of the brand promise by service employees, revealing itself as a variable that deserves the attention of management. Surprisingly, this important construct has not been utilized before in research published in Latin America.

Purpose - to assess the conservation status of the irrigation infrastructure as a result of the transfer process to users of D.R. 011.Methodology - statistical analysis of time series of investment variables in maintenance and conservation, irrigation quotas and water volumes available for irrigation in D.R. 011. Results - investment in conservation and maintenance does not show an increasing trend in the period after the transfer process. Nonetheless, the irrigation quotas paid by users were increased and this has had a negative impact on the physical state of the irrigation works.Limitations - there is insufficient information available to perform statistical analysis of each of the modules studied.Findings - more than two decades after the transfer of the management of the irrigation works to the users of D.R. 011, the irrigation structures have a noticeable deterioration, particularly the Valle de Santiago and Cortázar modules where many of the minor network distribution canals are uncoated and in poor condition.
