Universities worldwide became a community of academics and teachers, as the stages of their historical process passed, they were accommodated to the circumstances of the historical context. The origin of universitas "totality" derived from the universum, "gathered in a whole", gradually made an academic turn to pluralism, discarding elitism to give greater access to the public that the universities of their interest are looking for. The University Reform of Córdoba fed back academic pluralism in Latin America, as indicated: “A mixed university was born among us, with science institutes and professional schools, the latter also endowed with research centers” (Chuaqui, 2002, pp. 563- 565) is thus, currently universities have the mission of implementing their research institutes with quality scientific products and a multidisciplinary component. To this scientific consideration, we publish our second issue of the journal PURIQ respecting the academic pluralism of its authors, who complied by presenting their articles of interest.

The university is a community of teachers and academics with freedom of thought, who surpassed the dissimilar cycles in their historical progress. Its existence is justified by its entelechy staff, such as Mariátegui's sentence: "The University had to give it, therefore, this intellectual militia." (2012, p, 221). Regardless, on the academic ego that makes reigning universities competent, as a product of a thorough escort by the National Superintendence of Higher University Education (SUNEDU), research is decisive to redeem the reason for their existence of these universities in their geographical area where It has been erected.

This article aims to present the analysis of High School students’ posture, of different faiths, towards the scientific knowledge on the origin of life, given that they have different religious beliefs. For this purpose, a questionnaire was applied at the beginning of the school year and another, at the end. It was noted that, when asked about on how they would explain the origin of life, the students expressed knowledges which can be classified in four categories: just scientific; just religious; scientific and religious, separately; scientific and religious, in a mixture. In the initial questionnaire most of the students mobilized mainly creationist ideas and, in the final questionnaire, they still referred to creationism, but then they combined it to a scientific theory. Such a result indicates that the faiths were not changed due to science classes, but that the scientific knowledge will then co-exist with the religious ideas as a plausible explanation.

This study sought to understand the scientific perspective that bases the teaching materials from biology subprojects of the Institutional Scholarship Program of Introduction to Teaching, of the Federal University of Pernambuco, used in teaching practices from 2009 to 2016. To this end, we undertook a documentary research, based on the selection and analysis of proposals for teaching materials activities. We verified that the main point of view, which bases the materials, designates for science a rigid, empirical-inductive and decontextualized nature. For this reason, we understand that these elements diverge from the dimensions of science that are necessary for the scientific formation of teachers and students, being far from representing an innovative transformation in the practice of Biology teaching.

The teaching of biology is problematized in this text through university extension. A field class was conducted with high school students from Dom Alano Marie du Noday High School, from Palmas, Tocantins, in Brazil. It aims to understand how the students who participated in the extension activity express themselves after the field class in UFT health laboratories. It is a case report, with analysis of students’ drawings and writings. It is based on phenomenology. It concludes that drawings and other multiple expressive languages can help to dynamize and complement the teaching of biology, especially for students who do not have laboratories in their respective schools, through university extension.

The dissemination of information about the neglected parasitosis in textbooks is a relevant strategy in their control, since these are resources widely used in the classroom. Thus, the aim was to analyze the textual and visual resources about parasitosis neglected in science textbooks of the 6th and 7th years proposed by the PNLD 2014. Three books of the 6th and 2 of the 7th year were analyzed with evaluation forms. Neglected parasitosis were mainly contemplated in the 7th year textbooks. Summarized and incorrect approaches were observed in textbooks of both years. The visual features evidenced were, predominantly, schematic in all the books. Therefore, these results demonstrate that the evaluated contents were approached in a limited way in order to be used as theoretical support in science classes

The present study verified how to organize the academic productions that demonstrate the teaching of Systematics and Biological Taxonomy. Characterized as a “state of the art” research type, the collection of data was conducted by consulting the annals of the National Research in Science Education Meeting (ENPEC) from 2005 to 2017. The data obtained was organized in seven categories and a reduced number of articles about this theme was found, especially regarding Systematics and Taxonomy related to other subareas of Biology.

In this article, we intend to present a methodological approach applied to the teaching of Zoology: the observation challenges. We base our proposal on the union of two didactic strategies: educate by research and investigative cases. Next, we describe a protocol explaining how to proceed to apply this methodology. We approach the scientific method in the school space allowing students to experience and engage in the social practices of scientific culture. During its application we realized that students began to develop autonomy, reflection, freedom of expression and scientific reasoning. In addition, his approach favors interdisciplinarity and contextualization, valuing the brazilian fauna.

Many questions about the teacher training for basic education suggest the requirements is knowledge, skills and resourcefulness in teaching. In this context, the supervised internship, in initial training of  teachers, provides an approximation with the school reality. The teacher, in the teaching internship, has the possibility of recognizing himself as a subject who not only reproduces knowledge, but can also make his own classroom work into a space of teaching praxis and human transformation. Thus, we bring a qualitative-quantitative research to analyze students 'conceptions about teaching and science teaching. The analyzes of the students'answers show that their conceptions are interrelated, since education is constructed through several spheres.
