Resumen
Listening comprehension is essential to L2 learning. Pupils who are able to demonstrate L2 listening skills are able to demonstrate proficiency in other language skills. Due to the relatively unappreciated role of listening in language development, educators and language experts have been actively promoting the equal or emphasized enhancement of listening skills among students. Through multimedia, L2 speakers are provided access to several visual and aural L2 texts via audio, video, the Internet, podcasts, blogs and others. The use of multimedia in listening instrument aims to ultimately assist L2 learners in understanding L2 within the everyday context. The use of Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) programmes have been heralded as effective means of developing and enhancing language skills among L2 learners. However, listening skill teaching has been a neglected area. There has been a general belief that being able to speak, read and write in a given L2, is a parameter to be able to claim that L2 learners are proficient in communication in that language. In view of this assumption, many L2 teachers have ignored the true importance that listening has as a source or oral input from which L2 speakers can acquire the target language.

Resumen
This review is intended to identify the principal arguments, theoretical routes and nuances of thought of Umberto Eco in the way that they are presented by Claudio Paolucci —Eco’s main theoretical continuator— in his tribute book recently edited in Italian language. This work seeks, on the one hand, to highlight the value of the book, for summarizing such a complex work in some clear axes and, on the other, from a critical point of view, to discuss the central value that Paolucci assigns to laughter as a mechanism for the fall of high culture.

Resumen
This article aims to analyze one of the most relevant political communication tools in Chile: the public account presidential speeches. Through a qualitative analysis, within the methodological framework of the critical discourse analysis (CDA), this article considers the theoretical-political aspects from linguistic, political, sociological, mental and contextual perspectives which are present in the presidential messages of the administrations of Sebastián Piñera (2010-2013) and Michelle Bachelet (2014-2017). The analysis shows that the functional aspect of these discourses, combined with elements of rituality and solemnity, manifests the Executive Branch's intention to reaffirm their legitimacy through rhetorical components that appear to question the foundations of the status quo, but which, in concrete terms, perpetuate the traditional nature of the country's political, social and economic system.

Resumen
The purpose of this article is to explore the offer of serial narratives in the Argentinian Public Television between 2009 and 2015, in order to determine whether they contribute to strengthening the principles of television quality promoted by the state-owned broadcaster in that period. To this end, four fiction series directed by renowned Argentinian filmmakers and dramatists were selected for analysis. These productions were examined according to parameters established by recent researches which are set to evaluate television quality: its educational value, its technical quality and its social interest. The analysis also shows the existence of a bidirectional legitimation strategy, by involving artists who are prestigious in their country's cultural field, in the television project.

Resumen
«A landscape between natural and artificial in the entrance hall. The coldness of marble and the warmth of green. The illuminated house behind the hydrangeas in the darkness of the night. A possible waterfall in a baroque scene. The sheets as an horizon, the water, a twisting profile, reaching the light, the soft and subtle, the raw. Nothing is given, everything could be, the image does not contain everything. The limits between the real and the fictitious are sought after, desired and transformed spaces.
There is an illusory search for the timeless and the beauty of strangeness, which finds its way between spaces, places and people, between the duality of the fictional and the real, between familiar and strange sensations. The soft boundary in identifying the one and the other. The search is the shape of the landscape».
The photographs —taken between 2014 and 2016, between Madrid and Montevideo— belong to an individual project by the author, entitled Schinus molle, and are part of the collective exhibition Pretexto, inaugurated on March 16, 2018, at the Centro de Fotografía de Montevideo (CDF). Schinus molle also materialized in a book, which received a special mention for its layout, from the jury in the 2017 Call to Editions CDF, in the Latin American Photobook category. As its author defines it, the work proposes the state of transit and travel in relation to nature, to the other and to the image.

Resumen
This research analyzed the behavior of subscribers of the YouTube channel EnchufeTv, from Ecuador, to observe if its contents influence those who consume them. Using a mixed methodological approach, a questionnaire was applied to a sample in the city of Guayaquil and interviews with some subscribers were conducted in order to contrast both data. The results showed that subscribers are influenced by EnchufeTv, in terms of their tastes and the ways in which videos reflect reality. However, they perceive advertising in the content as a barrier to communication and don’t feel attracted to complementary products, which is why an idea of the channel as a brand is not strongly perceived.

Resumen
The aim of this article is to conduct a bibliographical analysis of the concept of mediatization in the field of political communication. As an alternative explanation to the impact of the media on public opinion, mediatization emphasizes how political and social actors appropriate the game rules of the media. This theory has been developed extensively in Anglo-saxon literature, and this article offers a complete review in Spanish, through the design of five axes that show the theoretical development of the concept from its origins to the present day (1979-2017). From this bibliographical analysis and considering the current context of political communication studies in Latin America, the question arises about the validity of using the concept of mediatization in an isolated way, without integrating it to transmedia logics or the construction of a public agenda shared among diverse actors.
