Based on an acoustic analysis we examine the variation between the vowel systems of Northern Lacandon, Southern Lacandon and Yucatec. The analysis shows evidence of the change in the middle central vowel, the long vowels, the accent pattern and the display of the laryngeal feature. The acoustic analysis shows that, phonetically, the peripheral vowels of Southern Lacandon and Yucatec can be produced with lengthening. This fact confirms the closeness between both languages. However, contrary to what has been said, in Northern Lacandon, phonetically there is no lengthening in the peripheral vowels. Regarding their accent pattern, we propose that Southern Lacandon and Yucatec are sensitive to syllabic weight, while Northern Lacandon has an immovable accent pattern. Finally, we show that the laryngeal vowels in Northern Lacandon and Southern Lacandon have a different production. In the first case the vowel has a glottal stop, while in the last case the vowel is rearticulated.

This paper discusses the theoretical problem of correlation between linguistic phenomena inherited from a proto-language and borrowed from neighboring and genetically related languages in the context of the Mayan Lowland area. The grammatical tense/aspect/mood systems in four languages of the Yucatecan branch (Yucatec, Lacandon, Itza’ and Mopan) are very similar in respect to both particular categories and formal structure; this can be explained due to the short period passed from the break-up of Proto-Yucatecan into modern languages. Unlike the Yucatecan branch, the verbal systems of three Cholan languages (Chol, Chontal and Ch’orti’) are very different and apparently emerged independently. The structural similarity between the Yucatecan tense/aspect/mood systems and that of Chol is analyzed as a result of linguistic contact in Mayan Lowlands.

This study presents a sketch of the history of the languages of the Yucatecan branch and how the linguistic differences of the current languages reflect their histories. Based on a comparative study, one may trace the differences in phonology and morphosyntax that developed in each language since the Proto-Yucatecan of 950 CE. Innovations among members of the branch are shown, which reflect separations of groups, including migrations, mostly from the north to the south. Also evidence, principally lexical evidence, is shown of contacts of members of the branch with one another and with speakers of Ch’olan languages. The result is that each language of the branch has unique characteristics and shared characteristics, which reflect their distinct histories.

In this paper we address the issue of morphological plural marking in Spanish loanwords in Yucatec Maya. Plural marking in this Mayan language has been a topic that has received a lot of attention in recent years. However, this does not extend to the loanwords that this language has adopted from Spanish, which in many cases also show the plural suffix of Spanish. In this paper we show, based on a corpus study, that plural marking in Spanish loanwords is regulated by criteria which are different from those that are observed in Yucatec nouns that are not loanwords. Furthermore, the comparison of marking between different age groups and different linguistic profiles reveals that the weight of the restrictions that originate in Yucatec Maya diminishes with (i)bilingualism and, (ii) the younger age of the speakers (see also Pfeiler 2009: 108). We conclude that plural marking of Spanish loanwords in Yucatec Maya is the result of the interaction of two typologically different systems which operate simultaneously in this part of the grammar of the host language. This results in a pattern which is different from the one observed separately in each language because it adopts different aspects of the two languages in contact.

Las tertulias musicales dialógicas (TMD), son parte de las actuaciones de éxito de una Comunidad de Aprendizaje (CdA). El objeto de este estudio se centra en una experiencia realizada en un centro educativo que realiza estas actuaciones con todos los miembros de la comunidad educativa. El CEIP Navas de Tolosa realiza TMD de forma semanal en todas las aulas del centro. El profesorado en general, no solo el de música, realiza esta actividad con el alumnado de forma sistemática, obteniendo grandes beneficios en todas las competencias básicas. La selección de las obras musicales contrastadas procedentes de los clásicos universales, ha sido programada por la dirección del centro, también especialista de música. El estudio analizado desde una mirada cualitativa bajo dos enfoques, la observación participante realizada por la propia docente e investigadora del aula y la moderación de grupos de discusión orientados a conocer la percepción de los discentes sobre el conjunto de actuaciones de éxito realizadas en el aula de música.Analysis of the influence on student learning after the organization of dialogical musical gatherings in an educational center.Dialogical musical gatherings (TMD) are part of the successful actions of a Learning Community (CdA). The object of this study is centered on an experience carried out in an educational center that performs these actions with all the members of the educational community. The CEIP Navas de Tolosa performs TMD on a weekly basis in all the classrooms of the center. The teachers in general, not only the music, perform this activity with the students in a systematic way, obtaining great benefits in all basic skills. The selection of the contrasted musical works from the universal classics has been programmed by the center’s management, also a music specialist. The study analyzed from a qualitative perspective under two approaches, the participant observation made by the teacher and researcher of the classroom and the moderation of discussion groups aimed at knowing the perception of the students on the set of successful performances in the classroom of music.

La estrecha vinculación entre el arte escénico y el ámbito educativo ha generado que la mayoría de los centros escolares cuenten en sus instalaciones con teatros o espacios destinados al uso multidisciplinar. Nuestra propuesta artística pretende acercar el patrimonio escénico histórico y urbano de Granada al alumnado de infantil y primaria. Para ello se han seleccionado cuatro espacios que tradicionalmente se han empleado para usos escénicos y otros cuatro entornos urbanos destinados en su origen a una finalidad distinta, pero que reúnen las características idóneas para albergar representaciones artísticas. Se ha diseñado una recreación visual con una propuesta de ubicación del escenario en cada uno de estos espacios, que el alumnado, desde la perspectiva del creador o del público, irá descubriendo y explorando por medio de una ruta artística.Discovering Granada’s venues from an educational perspectiveThe close connection between performance art and the educational field has meant that most of the schools have in their facilities theaters or multidisciplinary use. Our artistic proposal have the objetive to bring the historic and urban scenic heritage of Granada to children and primary school students. Therefore have been selected four spaces that traditionally were used for scenic purposes and four others, originally destin for different purpuses. All of them meet the perfect characteristics to hold artistic performance. A visual recreation has been designed with a proposal of location of the stage in each of these spaces, the student either from the perspective of the creator or the audience, will discover and explore through an artistic route.

Este artículo se centra en cómo se formó el cine español durante y después de la guerra civil española (1936-1939) por los dos bandos de la guerra: la izquierda y la derecha. En primer lugar, examina la lucha de poder entre dos bandos durante la guerra y su esfuerzo por hacer su propia propaganda. En segundo lugar trata de entender las nuevas reglas del cine bajo la dictadura de Franco. Luego discute los cambios de visión después de la muerte de Franco y por último, resume los efectos de la guerra civil en el cine español moderno de hoy. This article focuses on how the Spanish cinema was shaped during and after the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) by the two sides of the war: the political left and the political right. Firstly it examines the power struggle between two sides during the war and their effort to make their own propaganda. Secondly it tries to understand the new rules of the cinema under the dictatorship of Franco. Then it discusses the changes of vision after the death of Franco and lastly summarizes the effects of the war on the modern Spanish cinema of today.

An autoexploration based on the (auto)experience that concludes with the artistic work as consequence of personal reflection on the evolution (or regression) of the images that are getting blurred in our memory. The work tries, attempts and proposes as finality, the mitigation of the natural, induced and obliged pain, which supposes and originates the increasingly diffused loss.

En este trabajo se parte de la caracterización de las relaciones que se establecen entre la investigación y la creación artística. La finalidad es contribuir a la visibilización de los procesos de creación propios de las prácticas artísticas de la danza, como forma de investigación artística y de producción de conocimientos, circulantes en la Universidad de las Artes.La investigación artística no se ordena linealmente en proceso y resultado; es parte y todo de una dinámica que está atravesando y siendo atravesada por el proceso de creación, es mediadora y mediada; es en sí misma, inter y transdisciplinar. Es preciso tenerla en cuenta desde la dinámica de su funcionamiento, de su propia práctica. Esta se re-produce, re-formula, según las demandas que la propia acción creativa exige. Es por eso que se despoja del “pre-juicio” para transformarse en performática. La práctica danzaria resignifica al conocimiento artístico en el proceso de creación. De manera que más que reproducirlo, se torna estimuladora de sujetos creativos, productores de conocimientos acerca de la danza, en su gestión artística – investigativa-profesional.

La narración no es solo un género literario: se encuentra en la Paleontología, la Historia, la Psicología, la Pedagogía, en el Derecho, en el discurso científico. Es algo verdaderamente amplio. Ciencia y Arte han cooperado en la experimentación del discurso narrativo sobre qué supone narrar, el lenguaje y la percepción en la capacidad de transformar y transformarse del ser humano.   La narrativa museal está entrando de lleno en algunos museos como medio de acercamiento a la obra de arte. Con detractores y defensores se abre camino de forma tímida, aunque aún no sabemos qué recorrido tendrá en el tiempo. En este ámbito trabaja desde 2007 la Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (GAMeC) de Bergamo, que lo ha adaptado como herramienta de los Servicios Educativos en su política de desarrollo y de inclusión social y cultural.
