The article analyzes the process of training community health agents in a community in the western zone of Rio de Janeiro, carried out under a project designed to build participatory approaches in health. Based on the ethnographic observation of community and educational practices and by using questionnaires, the study aimed to contextualize the development of the course and analyze the participants' view about the expectations and learning of knowledge on health and the environment. The data show that the course met part of the students' expectations and resulted in the strengthening of local community networks and in some of the participants' social capital. The article aims to contribute to an anthropology of the educational activities, undertaken in formal and informal spaces, both within the context of the formulation and development of such actions and in the vision of the different players involved in the educational programs.

The article aims to question the discourse of the national manager, who states that Primary Health Care has been a priority since the 1990s, and to review this policy from the perspective of its institutionality. Both the discourses concerning primary care published in official texts and those presented in scientific articles were analyzed, using the discourse analysis proposed by Foucault as the methodological framework. Primary Health Care appeared on the top of the government priority agenda as a strategy to restructure the health care model in the mid-1990s, with the Family Health Strategy as its flagship. Since Primary Health Care was put on the priority agenda, this policy has gradually incorporated institutionalization, setting resources into motion and including thousands of new players in the political dispute to organize the health system. Still, the stated priority for this policy goes against a backdrop of weakness in health care, specifically primary care, pointing to the need for an analysis of its directionality and construction feasibility.

This article aims to socialize an experience in a training course offered in the state of Tocantins, Brazil, by the Enerpeixe S.A. outfit in partnership with the State Department of Health (Sesau), the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (OCI), and the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), in addition to presenting the methodology that was employed. The classes were taught by specialists from five IOC/Fiocruz laboratories and involved the training of community health workers and health professionals from municipal departments and the Tocantins State Health Department, affording interaction with the student-professionals in classes that focused on health problems caused by vectors and their major parasites. The perspective that was adopted led to a diversity of information that enabled each participant to understand the life cycle of the vectors and parasites of diseases such as onchocerciasis, mansonelliasis, malaria, leishmaniasis, schistosomiasis, and the Chagas disease. It also allowed interaction with ecological, health and environmental education issues. The training provided teachers and students with an experience on the extent of health problems in the state of Tocantins.

This essay is intended to retrieve Marxism - as an epistemological, theoretical, methodological and political body aimed toward overcoming Capitalism - in the political and conceptual debate agenda in field of Collective Health. It discusses the symbolic field as a field for the expression of ideologies that underpin capitalism and which uses, among other strategies, the silencing of Marxism, and even of capitalism, to eliminate criticism and political questioning. It relates these mechanisms to health, identifying some fields in which capitalism operates in this area. It presents a few philosophical, theoretical and methodological foundations of the 'theory of praxis,' highlighting the indissoluble unity between critical theory and transformative action. Finally, it urges health care practitioners, researchers and educators to (re)engage in the struggle against Capitalism, taking up the banner of Socialism aiming to achieve the actual right to health.

Among his publications, the limelight is on the books titled El porvenir del socialismo (The Future of Socialism) (2004) and Las disyuntivas de la izquierda en América Latina (The Crisis of the Left in Latin America) (first edition, 2008), which received honorable mentions from the Premio Libertador al Pensamiento Crítico, and 'El rediseño de América Latina. The study of the relationships that exist between music and dance, although it seems an elementary practice, in truth, requires specific and forceful technical domains in both disciplines. The consequence of this reality is that, for many decades, examining these relationships has been convoluted, and of rather vague or inadequate results. Thus, to contribute to this field of study, we present the following writing that focuses on the presenta- tion, development, and methodological systematization around what we have called “choreomusical networks”. With this objective in mind, the article presents in the first instance a summary of the main contributions that the theory of choreomusical relationships has made in the last thirty years (Hodgins 1992; Jordan 2020, 2015, 2000; Damsholt 2017, 1999; Smith 1981), to later approach the actor-network theory (Latour 2008) from the point of view of musical studies (Piekut 2014). Finally, in the third and decisive part of the text, the specific theory of choreomusical relationships is reviewed, from the perspective of the actor-network theory, to build a tracking methodology of choreomusical networks. We believe that a methodology such conceived will provide a useful toolbox for choreomusical analysis and collaborative creative dance and music work. It will particularly address a gap in the current theory of choreomusical relations: that of the trans-sensory fluctuation that occurs as a result of the movement of choreomusical agents and actants.

During the La Tirana Festival, cultural and religious expressions are developed that are part of the north of Chile’s musical-choreographic tradition. One of these manifestations is the rhythm of the salto initially linked to the chuncho dances and with wide dissemination from the mid-20th century. This article analyzes the sound, musical and choreographic characteristics, expanding the knowledge about this musical genre and its socio-cultural and historical context.

Through the contextualization, description, analysis and interrelation of the first two singing books published in Caracas, the article reveals very particular details about the first practices of systematic bel canto teaching in Venezuela. The study, based on first-hand eighteenth and nineteenth-century sources, is part of a broader research project aimed at analyzing the bibliographic sources of Venezuelan musical thought. The analysis of the primary sources was complemented with specialized studies of very recent date, all with links available here so that the subject can be deepened. At the end, some additional considerations are added, in order to estimate the value of these texts as part of an editorial and civilizing project designed by the political elite in the origins of Venezuelan republican life, in order to modernize the nation in cultural terms.
