Resumen
There is a wide variety of statistical tools developed for making decisions in the business context. The analysis of functional data is a area of study of growing importance in the last years. In the present paper some of its applied techniques are proposed to make analysis of financial risk. Specifically, results from exploratory functional analysis, identification of atypical data and the construction of supervised classification models based on the risk classification of credit unions, subject to the control of the Superintendency of Banks of Ecuador, taking as functional variables the NPL ratio and the net profit margin in the period July 2011 to December 2012.

Resumen
In this article, we describe the design and implementation of an experimental robotic hand platform in order to create a real environment to tests signals that have been treated with different applied techniques or devices used in the extraction of bioelectrical signals. Mechanically the platform has a hand of 5 degrees of freedom, one for each finger. The movement of each finger is generated by a servomotor, which receives the signal from an electronic distribution board. The reception of signals from the outside is both wired and wireless. To check the individual movement of the fingers, a joystick, a keyboard and Bluetooth device have been provided. The movement of the joints on each finger is achieved by tightening a nylon thread from the pulley located on the servomotor shaft. PWM signals were used to check the movement of the fingers.

Resumen
The following work presents a methodology to optimize the absorption coefficients, conventionally considered as the main input parameters of room acoustical simulators. In the first place a presentation of the main characteristics of the acoustic simulator is made. Next, the procedure that is based on a modified “hill-climbing” approach is detailed. It performs the optimization of the coefficients value in an iterative procedure, which includes the calculation of the acoustic quality parameters (AQPs) with the results of an acoustic simulation of a real room. The AQPs from each simulation are compared with experimental measurements performed in the room, used as a reference for iterative adjustments. Finally, the results of the last iteration show a substantial reduction of the error, showing differences of 5.83% with the AQPs measured in the real room.

Resumen
The present research shows a prototype that seeks the suppression of essential tremor in a neuroprosthesis that emits vibrations to saturate the channels of communication of this pathology, initially presents a general concept of the disease, and the treatments that seek to correct this symptom known as tremor. It was essential to follow the general outlines of the design and development of the device, and subsequently the results obtained and conclusions that validate the hypotheses raised, the authors propose a series of works that validate the system and the hypotheses itself.

Resumen
Different authors seek to improve the interactionbetween intelligent agents in multi-agent systems, an example isthe affective model of MASOES, which through the generationof emotions promotes different types of behaviors. Although thisaffective model has been formally verified at the design level,it has not been verified at the implementation level. This workpresents methodologically the implementation for the affectivemodel of MASOES on a multiagent system, verifying the requiredat the design level by this multiagent architecture, in order toprovide an environment for the interaction between the emotionalprocesses and the different functions of an agent. In addition, wepropose the calculation of Social Emotion, allowing to describethe collective emotional state of a group of emotional agents.

Resumen
In this article is presented a revision of previous works related to acoustic science and intelligent environments, to establish a connection between these areas. The described works combine physics, psychoacoustics and neuroscience, including also sound objects and automatic acoustic management. The research’s goal is to show how these immersive environments are created with the sound as the main element to take into account, and other elements that are part of these systems. This description allows establishing the reference framework to create a reflective middleware for the acoustic self-management in intelligent environments, to make possible the inclusion of more audio elements in these spaces, in order to improve and extend the capabilities and benefits offered by the intelligent environments.

Resumen
In this paper the problem of obtaining the Optimal Workforce Planning for enterprises is addressed as a mathematical optimization problem. Given the complexity and specific features of the corresponding optimization model, the Ant Colony Optimization metaheuristic was applied as the solution method. From computational experiments, we have shown the effectiveness of our proposal versus other state-of-art algorithms.

This interactive workshop in (mainly) English and some Spanish will enable participants who are relative novices to publishing about higher education teaching learning and assessment to: (1) practice all the necessary steps required to complete an article for publication; (2) consider the range of outlets where academics can publish research and good scholarly practice on teaching, learning, assessment and feedback; (3) review appropriate styles, registers and language for journal publications; and (4) utilise some simple processes to draft, redraft and complete a journal article.
