Resumen
This article was aimed at evaluating the impacts tourism activities, under the methodology of acceptable change limit, in the area of conservation Mashpi - Guaycuyacu - Saguangal. We used field research methods, as well as analysis of primary and secondary sources. In historical terms, the area of conservation has a diverse ecosystem, which is appreciated by the visitos who provide income for the local population, but who on the other hand, had an impact on the environment. These have been solved by the methodology of acceptable change limit which has been selected, previous an analysis of other monitoring systems such as pressure- state-response, visitor impact management, Tourism Management System, and Visitor Experience and Resources Protection. As result of this research work, we were able to characterize the sites of visit, to identify the indicators of impact, to determine the measurement methods of the indicators, to establish acceptable change limit, to evaluate the site, to define strategies of management, and to follow-up and monitor the process.

Resumen
A sampling of birds was carried out in two areas of the UCEs campus: the University Citadel and the surroundings of the Faculty of Physical Culture. Fieldwork took place in October-December 2016. A total of 26 species of 14 families were registered. Four species are boreal migratory while the rest are residents. Within this bird community, it was determined that the Eared Dove (Zenaida auriculata) was the dominant species. The most diverse families were the Thraupidae, the Trochilidae and the Tyrannidae, respectively. Trophic guilds -with more species- were ranivores and insectivorous. The floristic structure of the university campus is composed mostly of introduced ornamental trees and few remnants of native plants, which together cover an area of 70 hectares. The data obtained suggest that there is a variety of available resources that support this community of birds. Therefore, the future of the resident species and those that visit the study area during the migration season, depends on the proper maintenance of their artificial and natural environments.

Resumen
This paper shows the profile of the resident based on the leisure activities carried out in the public space of the city of Quito, a metropolis with physical characteristics that influence mobility. The application of the empirical study provided the guidelines to identify the preferences of the inhabitant. The geographical approach presented here links the study of leisure and its spatial repercussions in the territorial context of the city. The questionnaire has indicators several indicators including tastes, perception and satisfaction with respect to the current offer, which reflects previous experience with leisure. The segmentation of age groups presents specific characteristics, as well as a differentiation between the results obtained for masculine and feminine individuals. With the support of the geographic information systems, it was possible to obtain the concentration in the use and the mobility of the residents towards the public spaces of leisure (EPO) within the zonal administrations (AZ) and their relationship with the parishes of Quito.

Resumen
This research evaluated the nutritional deficiencies of the quinoa crop (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.). Two greenhouse experiments were implemented. Seedlings were transplanted in pomina and maintained for 60 days. The nutritional deficiencies were induced by using the missing element technique with nutrient solutions under a completely randomized design with fourteen treatments and three replicates for the first experiment and four replicates for the second experiment. The evaluated variables in the first experiment included plant height, stem diameter, color, and chlorophyll. The crop biomass production was evaluated in the second experiment. The results indicated that omission treatments for nitrogen (N), boron (B), and potassium (K) significantly affected all of the evaluated variables and presented visual symptoms of deficiency in the quinoa crop. Nevertheless, suphur (S) and phosphorus (P) deficiencies were also observed at the latest plant growth stages.

Resumen
The main objective of this research is to design a Tourism Promotion plan for San Lorenzo del Pailón County in Esmeraldas Province for increasing the volume of tourists and improving the quality of life of the local residents. The county holds significant natural and cultural wealth, and thus inventories were prepared regarding attractions specified by Ministry of Tourism in order to identify the locations with the greatest potential. Tourism activities are available, but the residents are not aware of how to take advantage of the resources that nature offers, and therefore the County has not been able to position itself as a point of reference for Tourism, and it is hoped that the promotion of the county will convert it into a potential tourism icon.

Resumen
It was taken as an antecedent the systematic primacy of the poverty of the rural population over the urbanpopulation, validated by the national statistics, to analyze how the natural aptitude of land use, inconsistentwith the current productive use, influences in poverty and undernourishment of the population of the ruralparishes of Cotopaxi province; under the premise that the main productive activity of this population is agriculture. The Spearman statistical method of correlation was applied to determine the relationship between the natural aptitude of land use and current land use, with poverty and undernourishment of the rural population. The correlation analysis was applied to the 33 rural parishes, excluding urban, since their productive activities are not the primary production. The results show that poverty and undernourishment of the rural population are directly correlated with the main activity of the population in primary production and the inappropriate use of land, contrary to the natural aptitude of use, which is not agriculture. In consequence, the highest rates of poverty and undernourishment are concentrated in areas with lowest natural aptitude of land use for agriculture, but at the same time, most of those areas are dedicated to agricultural activities (more than 60% in average). The main conclusion was that the primary production activities at majority of the rural areas of the Cotopaxi province, do not generate enough income to improve the life of the involved families and simultaneously cause environmental degradation, putting in threat the food security of the population and increasing their poverty and undernourishment.

Resumen
Goldenrod cultivation is relatively new in Brazil, so that there is lack of knowledge regarding the proper cultural practices required to increase its production efficiency. Aspects such as pruning, cultivation systems and nutrient demand are not well known for this species. The objectives of this study were to determine how different cultivation systems can affect: (1) yield and quality of goldenrod stems, (2) total plant dry weight and macronutrient accumulation throughout the lifecycle of the crop, and (3) leaf macronutrient concentration during the lifecycle. A nutrient solution containing macro and micronutrients was used to fertirrigate this floriculture crop over the entire lifecycle. Pinching was made five days after transplanting (DAT). Initially, no significant differences were observed in shoot length. However, at 75 and 90 DAT, plants with one stem were longer. Increasing macronutrient accumulation was observed during the lifecycle. Nutrient accumulation had the following order: K > N > Ca > Mg > S > P. The three cultivation systems produced goldenrod stems with lengths and fresh weight that met commercial standards. Totaldry weight was statistically the same in plants grown with one, two and three stems. Goldenrod plants should be conducted with three stems since this system does not interfere with the concentration and accumulation of macronutrients, and allows producing a greater number of stems per plant without losing the stem quality.

Resumen
This study analyzes the production systems and carries out an evaluation of the social management of irrigation in the Mocha-Huachi canal in order to find out the situation faced by the small-scale farmers using water resources for productive purposes. We describe the process of conformation of the water board and characteristics such as legitimacy, democracy and management. In addition, five types of representative producers of the area of influence of the canal were determined, ranging from smallholders with plots smaller than 0.5 ha to farmers with plots larger than 4 ha. To characterize each type of farmer, the following criteria were used: availability and destination of family labor, labor force used in agricultural production, agricultural income, nonfarm income and profit. The main results show that: i) the organization has medium to high level of legitimacy granted by the users, leaders and external actors, which has enabled the board to have access to public and private support, however, smallholders face socioeconomic problems that go beyond the actions of the water board; ii) family labor has declined by about 50% in all categories of users; iii) agricultural incomes range from US $ 4 to US $ 11 per day; iv) trends indicate a progressive increase of nonagricultural activities by new generations and a recent process of land sale for recreation purposes.

Resumen
With data from a survey conducted among the customers of the “la Carolina” Agroecological Fair, this work analyzes the socioeconomic determinants of agroecological foodstuffs consumption in Quito. The results of descriptive and multivariate analyses reveal the personal well (health) is the principal (only) motivations to consume agroecological foodstuffs. Although this finding is consistent with prior research conducted in European and North American countries, the results presented here also reflect that factors related to the social well (sustainability of agricultural production, conservation, the welfare of small-scale farmers, and food sovereignty and food security) have no effect on decisions concerning agroecological consumption.
