Resumen
With its long tradition, research on misconceptions helps to understand how concepts are learned and how learning in the disciplines can be supported. Up to now, research on misconceptions has focused on natural sciences, while research on misconceptions in behavioral sciences is scarce, not to say absent. In this study an attempt was made to reveal upper secondary school students’ misconceptions on doing research in behavioral sciences. The starting point for the study were research proposals of upper secondary school students. As part of a larger study, students were asked to write a research proposal in maximum two pages. A two-steps approach was adopted in the analysis of these research proposals. First, using a codebook containing both deductive and inductive codes, two-pagers were analyzed in order to identify ‘errors’. In a second step, an interpretative analysis aimed at inferring potential misconceptions underlying these errors. The study can be considered as a starting point for research on misconceptions in behavioral sciences which is currently missing in the field.

Resumen
Bullying involves aggressive behaviors with the intention to harm others, including manifestations of systematic abuse of power. Two types of bullying can be considered: physical and psychological. Students may get involved in bullying dynamics as bullies, victims, or both - aggressive victims. The literature defines bullying as a global phenomenon, affecting both girls and boys. Therefore, Portuguese schools are no exception, with several studies from North to South of the country demonstrating the presence of bullying in schools, both in elementary and middle schools. The aim of this study is to elaborate the differences and experiences by both genders, boys and girls, in the current dynamics of school bullying. Thus, answering the question - how different are girls and boys as bullies and victims? In addition, it intends to impart the acquired knowledge and raise awareness of the implications of this social context in which Portuguese children are currently involved. The results obtained from a sample of 1147 students attending the 1st cycle of Portuguese education (elementary schools) were in line with previous studies. In order to enrich the literature, bullies, victims, and aggressive victims were characterized in detail. Finally, the importance of the adults’ intervention, especially teachers, was highlighted.

Resumen
Universities and higher education institutions (HEIs) aim to provide the maximum support for the community. Hence, to obtain the optimum results, the educational policies must be in alignment with the societies’ needs and prerequisites. The present research investigated the undergraduates’ expectations of studying at university and the fulfillment of those expectations prior and after being accepted into the university. 600 first-year undergraduates were selected based on cluster sampling from 2783 first-year undergraduates at Allameh Tabataba’i University, Iran. The data were gathered through deep interviews and cross-sectional survey. We emphasize that the centralized educational system in Iran works as a speed bump to obtain the goals and ambitions as portrayed in the HEIs’ mottos. The findings remind the educational policy-makers that success does not happen in a vacuum; rather, it is a collaborative joint practice among all members of the HE sector. The novelty of the research is its applicability to those centralized systems of policy-making worldwide specifically with engagement of students which adds to the literature and can urge the authorities of the HE sector to modify their earlier policies in the short run; and work toward decentralized system of educational leadership as the main panacea in the long run.

Resumen
Over the last decades, many efforts have been made to establish the Basque minority language as a normalized language in the Basque Country. Research has shown that language use, language proficiency and attitudes towards language are closely associated. Likewise, the benefit of interactive learning environments for improving language proficiency is well known. However, the effect of such environments on attitudes towards second languages (L2) has been less studied. This article presents a qualitative study that explores the extent to which the implementation of a particular dialogue-based classroom strategy, named Dialogic Literary Gatherings (DLGs), may transform secondary students’ attitudes towards Basque (L2). The DLGs were carried out with 46 secondary education students in the Basque Country. After implementing DLGs, teachers’ interviews and students’ focus groups were conducted and analysed inductively. Results show that participants reported changes in students’ attitudes towards Basque and they related these changes to the dialogical space they experienced during the DLGs, since this created affordances for them to engage in meaningful discussions when speaking in Basque. Implications of the study are discussed.

Resumen
The May 1982 campaign for the Andalusian elections had several elements that placed it in the political and media center of the country. In the first place, it was the first autonomous elections in the region, which had exceptionally won its right to self-government through the constitutional means of Article 151. Second, these elections were one test to analyze the political pulse of the country, since shortly after a general elections would be held that were brought forward to October of that same year. Finally, the propaganda of the Andalusian Businessmen Confederation and its attack on the PSOE uncovered a debate whose echo in the newspapers did not go unnoticed. This article analyzes the press through the opinions and editorials published by El País, ABC and Diario 16. It is intended to examine how these media voices transferred to public opinion what happened in that campaign inserted in the final episodes of the Transition and in Andalusia, an autonomy that had been key in the process of territorial decentralization.

Resumen
The period between the death of Franco and the approval of the Spanish Constitution proved that several claims were being done by Spanish society. The democratization of the country would only be possible through free elections, an amnesty and the recognition of regional particularities. In this sense, the new press that emerged during the liberalizations carried out by Franco’s dictatorship between 1966 and 1974 strengthened these requests, but at the same time established an order of priorities. This article analyzes the contents of the main information periodicals (Cambio16, Doblón, Posible and Guadiana) towards the linguistic plurality and its possible recognition. From this point, this text targets a triple aim: to demonstrate that the territorial claim played a secondary role in the editorial content of these publications; to demonstrate how these publications preferred the reports as a formula to claim linguistic recognition; and specify the position of the abovesaid weekly informative magazines towards the linguistic plurality and to know the differences of opinion between them.

Resumen
This research aims to examine whether the studied press intends to determine, influence, guide or direct the public debate in the face of a novel and unique political situation in the History of Andalusia and, with this, mark the political action of power and, secondly, If so, identify the strategies or tools used to achieve those ends. This article focuses its research object on the press published in Andalusia between 1931 and 1934, which includes both local and general headlines. In total, 35 newspapers have been analyzed, chosen under the criteria of covering the entire ideological spectrum -from the conservatives- to the extreme left, including the Andalusian nationalist/regionalist press- as well as, in the case of the local press, the eight provinces that make up the Andalusian region. It is confirmed that the written press played a prominent role in outlining a position against the Andalusian autonomy process during the Second Republic. In the case at hand, the interests of each approach were reflected in all the numbers and they used different strategies, both delaying and dynamic.

Resumen
The first newspaper published entirely in Basque and that lasted over time was not published in the Basque Country but in the United States of America. California'ko Eskual Herria, a four-page weekly newspaper published in Los Angeles from 1893 to 1898, practiced a highly informative journalism different from the more ideological journalism practiced in the same language by the bilingual press of the Basque Country. This research has analyzed the journalistic model of the Basque-American weekly based mainly on the genres used in its informative texts. The most used genre was the news, numerous chronicles were also published but no texts that could be classified as interviews or reports have been detected.

Resumen
One of the most important bases of the authoritarian political system held in Mexico during most of the 20th Century was an intense nationalist rhetoric, defined (as one of its aspects) for a definite point of view about the country`s history. This work proposes a contact to the different approaches given by the Mexican press between 1968 and 1976 about 1910 revolution as a part of governmental nationalism. We will analyse articles published by two different media (El Nacional journal and Siempre! weekly magazine) in three specific moments of this period (at the end of 1968, 1973 and at the end of 1976) for exploring the existence of different points of view about this issue. The founded divergences can be related with the complex Mexican reality of these years, marked by 1968`s students’ movement or the “apertura democrática”.
