In the light of the recent publications on the probable existence of an extensive Latin colonization program in Hispania during the Roman Republic, this paper reviews two communities like Salduie and Contrebia Belaisca which, though they did not enjoy a Roman legal‐administrative statute during the Republican period, show typical institutions, ways and cultural products of a privileged setting. This situation may be explained on the basis of the feasible influence of the likely Latin colonies of Hispania Citerior, in particular those fossilized through their transformation into [municipia] veteris Latii under Augustus.

This article presents the results, and a preliminary analysis, of the archaeological excavations carried out in the charters’ square of Dicastillo. We focus mainly on data relating to its development as a square. It has been located part of the original pebble pavement and ribbons and various structures for the public source. Pavement and source present the complexity of difficult chronological, typological, stylistic delimitation works. We analyze the archaeological input in the discrepancy between the theory which associates the discovered materials to the late XVI and early decades of the XVII centuries, and the one that links them to the illustrated projects of the XVIII century.

This paper shows a synthectic view of the vegetation history, the anthropogenic dymamic and the climatic evolution of the Protohistoric period in a very specific sector of the Ebro Valley, the present province of Alava. To this end, we have used a palaeoenvironmental tool of great interest, the study of pollen, spores and non‐pollen palynomorphs preserved in several different deposits of the Bronze Age and Iron Age, in order to provide data and reflections to different problems related with cultural changes.

We present a brief analysis of the pictorial fragments found in the house of the Peristyle of Los Bañales (Uncastillo, Zaragoza). We have differentiated two sets: one made up of several parts with apparent banal decoration, unearthed during excavations; the second is formed by two unique fragments found in the surface. Both of them, however, provide interesting data that help us to understand the dynamics of the building, and help us to propose new hypotheses about its chronology.

The scarabs reported in this article were found during the excavation´s works at the necropolis of El Castillo in Castejón (Navarra). Its apparition in this place indicates a trade along the river Ebro, navigable in ancient times, between the coast and the inland. Moreover, these Egyptian items represent the most septentrional and inland ever found, up to this moment, in the Iberian Peninsula. Egyptian‐type documents have been found in other necropolis at the Littoral of the Peninsula.

Abstract This article presents a panoramic view of the diverse orientations of university outreach programs currently applied in Argentina. Additionally, it identifies some salient features of the practices of the university teams who developed outreach projects, their main achievements and difficulties, and how the idea of university outreach is currently being reconceptualized. It also points out some learning potentially useful in other countries. The research is based in the application of a specially designed questionnaire which has been answered by the coordinators of over two hundred experiences developed by teams of students and professors from numerous disciplines, based on about forty public universities, in diverse social contexts. In spite that all these experiences have received funding from the National Program of University Volunteer Work of the National Secretary of Higher Education, they are oriented by diverse traditions of university outreach, conceptualized by the team members in terms of outreach, social linking, service learning, action research, volunteer work, and university social responsibility.
