Interview granted by a very special guest in the history of Biology Teaching in Brazil and the Brazilian Association for Biology Teaching (SBenBio): Professor Myriam Krasilchik. The meeting with the professor was a moment of great joy and a chat full of stories, "causos" and memories shared to compose this Special Edition of the 25th anniversary of SBEnBio.

This work arises from the students' immediate interest in wanting to understand why the ornamental species Euphorbia tirucalli L. is so toxic when the latex comes into contact with the skin. In this sense, a Didactic Sequence (SD) was elaborated in order to guide the work and answer the students' initial questions: search for a bibliographic reference on the species, use of the recording technique, conversation circles, use of the computer lab, experimentation involving the morphohistological study of the plant, procedural evaluation from the construction of portfolios. The strategy achieved the proposed objectives, since the students were able to understand concepts of botany and terms used in the morphohistological study, as well as answer the initial question about the toxicity

This work consists in a case report in the Programa Residência Pedagógica, with the objectives of reporting the perceptions of undergraduate students regarding the themes of Health and Environment through the developed activities and show the importance of the supervised internship. The methodology used was active observation. Conversation circles, activities and the production of a finisher element were presented through the activities “Arvore ecológica” and “Princesa Suja”. Through activities, students expanded their vocabulary and learned how to respect the environment and care for personal hygiene. In turn, residents acquired great knowledge in the area of ​​Education, Science and Biology, even though this experience was one of their first contacts with the school environment. 

Biotechnology is a multidisciplinary science, with great added potential, which impacts all sectors of society. Thus, in order to contribute to the Teaching of Biology, the objective of this work was to investigate the perceptions of 420 high school students, belonging to 14 public schools in 11 municipalities of the state of Paraíba, in relation to the theme in question. The research is a descriptive-exploratory study, using a printed questionnaire with open questions. The results obtained showed that the biotechnological themes, even though they are part of the Basic Education curriculum, have passed unnoticed in the school routine, since most students did not provide, correctly, the concepts and applications of this promising area of science.

En este artículo presentaremos un mapa de la protesta social en Brasil, Argentina, Chile y Colombia durante el periodo 2019-2020, exponiendo desde un abordaje cuantitativo las tendencias, intensidades, formatos, actores y demandas de la conflictividad social y laboral. El objetivo es, en primer lugar, pensar en términos comparativos cuáles son los cambios y continuidades de la conflictividad social y laboral en el escenario post-pandemia. Por otro lado, buscamos también dar cuenta de cuáles son las tendencias comunes y disimilitudesde la protesta social en cada uno de los países de América Latina seleccionados.

El presente artículo tiene por objetivo recuperar la experiencia del sindicalismo norteamericano,  principalmente de la central American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), en su intervención en el marco del movimiento antiglobalización. Se propone un análisis de su participación en la llamada “Batalla de Seattle” ante la Conferencia de la Organización Mundial de Comercio (OMC) en 1999 y, luego, su posterior protagonismo en la campaña de rechazo del ingreso de China a dicho organismo internacional. Especialmente, el trabajo focaliza en los límites y alcances que tuvo este fenómeno, indagando en la relación entre los sindicatos y el Partido Demócrata, en aquel entonces bajo la presidencia de Clinton.
