Resumen
Introduction: One of the therapeutic pillars for Parkinson's disease is physical rehabilitation; its application is aimed at improving motor and non-motor symptoms; however, its widespread use in patients with this disease is still limited.
Objective: To identify the benefits of physical therapy in patients diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.
Methods: A literature review was conducted in regional and high-impact databases, such as Scielo, Latindex, Redalyc, Scopus, ICE, Web of Science, and PubMed, the most representative. Google Scholar was used as a search engine, identifying 77 documents, of which 38 were incorporated into the study. Health descriptors in English, Spanish, and Portuguese (quality of life; Parkinson's disease; physical therapy regimen and rehabilitation) and Boolean operators (AND, NOT, and OR) were used. The combination of these elements allowed for increasing and optimizing the information search results.
Development: The main results focus on the benefits of exercise-based training programs, technology, and other therapies to improve motor and non-motor manifestations in patients diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.
Conclusions: The benefits of physical therapy for patients diagnosed with Parkinson's disease lie in improvements in balance and gait, with an emphasis on speed and stride length. This includes improved postural stability, greater functional capacity, and a decreased risk of falls, as well as improvements in mood and cognitive function.

Resumen
Introduction: The biopsychosocial and spiritual self integrates the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of the individual, offering a holistic view of health. This perspective is crucial because it allows us to understand how patients interpret and cope with their health conditions; thus, it provides a comprehensive framework for care and recovery.
Objective: To analyze how the patient's narrative reveals and reflects the interactions between these four dimensions; its importance in the healing process; and the meaning and purpose of the patient's experience through illness.
Opinion: The patient's narrative is a tool that allows patients to express their experiences and emotions; it offers healthcare professionals a deeper understanding of their needs and challenges. Integrating these dimensions would aid in treatment adherence and provide more empathetic and effective professional care.
Conclusions: Interpreting illness from a biopsychosocial and spiritual perspective, through the patient narrative, is essential for holistic healthcare. This integration allows for a better understanding of the patient's experiences and needs, facilitating a treatment approach that promotes not only physical healing but also emotional and spiritual well-being.

Resumen
Introduction: Thyroid diseases, including adenomas with cystic degeneration, decrease in size after the administration of dehydrated alcohol (ethane).
Objective: To analyze the social utility of ethanol in the treatment of adenomas with cystic degeneration.
Opinion: Percutaneous ethanol injection improves the quality of life of patients with psychological problems caused by thyroid hyper-hypofunction. A better mood leads to a healthier life. Pathophysiologically, it leads to fibrosis and atrophy of the nodules, achieving euthyroidism, which prevents disease progression.
Conclusions: The use of ethanol treatment for thyroid adenomas with cystic degeneration represents an important advance in endocrine medicine, offering both economic and clinical benefits. Its efficacy, lower cost, and ability to improve quality of life make it a valuable therapeutic option for these patients.

Resumen
Introduction: Cardiovascular comorbidities are associated with a worse outcome in patients with COVID-19 due to inflammation and thromboembolic events.
Objective: To identify echo-Doppler findings of the carotid, vertebral, ulnar, and radial arteries in COVID-19 convalescents.
Methods: A cross-sectional study of 168 COVID-19 convalescents who underwent arterial echo-Doppler. The variables studied were sex, age, atherosclerotic risk factors, carotid and vertebral artery resistance index, overall carotid intima-media thickness, and upper extremity arterial segments with monophasic flow. Descriptive statistics, mean comparison tests, and the chi-square statistic were used.
Results: The mean resistance index in carotid and vertebral arteries was higher in men (0.62–0.67), except in the left vertebral artery (p=0.008–0.031). In convalescents aged ≥60 years, the resistance index in all arteries except the right vertebral artery was 0.65–0.69 (p=0.000–0.012), and in those with four to five atherosclerotic risk factors, it ranged from 0.64–0.70, except in the right vertebral artery (p=0.005–0.027). The overall carotid intima-media thickness was <0.8, and 48.2% had monophasic flow in at least one distal arterial segment of the upper extremities.
Conclusions: The key findings from Doppler ultrasound of the carotid and vertebral arteries are higher resistance index in the elderly, in men, and in COVID-19 convalescents with more atherosclerotic risk factors. In the ulnar and radial arteries, monophasic spectral morphology is identified in a greater number of individuals without atherosclerotic risk.

Resumen
Introduction: Silicone oil is used in patients vitrectomized for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment, early removal is recommended because its permanence may induce complications.
Objective: To describe late complications caused by silicone oil in patients vitrectomized for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment.
Methods: 24 patients were evaluated in a cross-sectional study. Visual acuity without correction at the time of consultation, density of silicone oil and its permanence time in the vitreous cavity, type of late complication, horizontal and vertical macular thickness were evaluated.
Results: Male were predominant (65%), whites (83%), and the age group 50 - 69 years represented 67% of the patients. Fifty-seven percent had no ocular pathological history, 26% presented myopia (13% with high myopia). Thirty-eight percent had visual acuity between 0.1 - 0.3. Silicone oil 100 cSt was used in 83% of the cases and the time of permanence was 23 ± 17 months. Late complications, cataract, ocular hypertension and emulsified oil in equal proportion, macular edema and macular hole occurred in 71% of patients. The average macular thicknesses in horizontal and vertical slices were 478 ± 219 µm and 487 ± 214 µm.
Conclusions: Silicone oil cause macular thickness increase and inflammation mediated visual acuity decrease. Late complications of pars plana vitrectomy in patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment, with silicone oil are cataracts, ocular hypertension and emulsified oil.

Resumen
Introduction: The anthropometric evaluation of craniofacial morphology and facial harmony has significant clinical implications in the fields of maxillofacial surgery, reconstructive rhinoplasty, and orthodontics, providing essential reference data for surgical planning and aesthetic optimization.
Objectives: To determine the anthropometric morphological characteristics of the nasal region in Vietnamese individuals aged 18-25.
Methods: A descriptive study was conducted on 405 students aged 18 to 25 years in Vietnam. Anthropometric morphological characteristics, including distances, angles, and ratios, were measured using an indirect measurement method.
Results: Anthropometric analysis of the Vietnamese population aged 18–25 years revealed that the average nasal root-to-tip length was 40.51 ± 4.16 mm, and the average nasal width was 41.15 ± 3.63 mm. The mean nasal height measured 13.69 ± 1.17 mm. The nasofrontal angle averaged 141.20° ± 7.50°, while the nasolabial angle averaged 100.36° ± 12.03°. For proportional indices, the Goode ratio averaged 0.56 ± 0.05 and the Baum ratio averaged 2.12 ± 0.23. A significant positive correlation was observed between nasal bridge length and facial length (p< 0.001).
Conclusion: The anthropometric characteristics of the nasal region in the Vietnamese population exhibit significant sexual dimorphism, particularly in terms of dimensions and proportional indices.
