Governance is a widely studied concept that has gained great empirical value when applied from a sectoral perspective. In the environmental field, governance has had different approaches and uses, ranging from shaping the federal institutional framework to community-level processes. Community water governance is how communities organize and work collaboratively to monitor water to maintain and conserve it. This article reviews the concept of community water governance and the distinct categories of analysis that can enable its understanding. Through participatory monitoring, it also explores the organizational processes around local water management in communities located in the Cenotes Ring Geohydrological State Reserve, in Yucatan. It is reflected that, in their conservation work, these collectives reveal learning and knowledge that could be implemented in public policies at the local level.

This paper analyzes the trajectory of science, technology and innovation policies in Mexico, targeting to many of its regions, in order to understand the models of authority and management that were deployed after the inclusion of regional actors in the 1990s. From an analytical framework that inquired into modes of governance from a multilevel perspective, we examine how political authority is distributed and how decision-making is coordinated in these policies between national actors (federal government and the national council in charge of the sector) and regional actors (state governments, state science agencies, and local scientific communities). Throughout the analysis, some of these issues are exemplified by events in the states of the Yucatan Peninsula.

This paper presents an analysis of the Advisory Council for Women of the Municipality of Merida (period 2021-2024), in order to explain the factors that shape social participation within this space. Three factors are addressed, the first describes the characteristics of its citizen members, their interests and expectations, their dynamics of participation and interaction; the second refers to the commitment and political will of the public servants involved; the third describes the design of this consultative space, its rules and decision-making styles. In this Council, conceived as a socio-state interface, people with different backgrounds, interests and ideologies come together to test the participatory mechanism for the management of the problems faced by women, but also by men and gender diversity in Yucatan. This work contributes to the discussion on women's political participation beyond the electoral and the ways in which participatory governance is expressed in local governments.

In this article I explore the politicization of mortuary rituals in Mexico from the ethnographic case of the rituality of bone cleaning in Pomuch, Campeche, through its patrimonialization and its massive dissemination in the “Festival de Día de Muertos Pomuch para el mundo”. My objective is to understand how the relationships are woven between patrimonialization as a process, in which heritage, market and consumption are linked, and local mortuary rituals, which have been politically adjusted, since the post-revolutionary period, to a national discourse and identity about the Mexican. In the text, I analyze the definition of patrimonialization, and how it is linked to a national project with respect to mortuary attitudes and practices in Mexico; the history, actors and conflicts of the Festival; the Patrimonial Declaration of the cleaning of bones; and the impact of the Festival on the relations of the Pomucheños with their deceased.

The main objective of this paper is to explain and justify the convenience of the concept of sectoral governance as a theoretical alternative for the study and research on various arrangements, spaces or governance structures located in different sectors of public affairs or public policies. From this perspective, it is recognized that the concept of sectoral governance is increasingly used as a theoretical basis for the study of cases and specific situations related to different areas of public life, such as the environment, public safety, rural areas, metropolitan issues, tourism, water, among many others. On the one hand, the concept functions as a theoretical container to make an analysis that integrates ways of conducting or managing these areas or sectors, but, on the other, as an umbrella concept for many research routes that have resulted in bodies of literature that grow and multiply differently. This phenomenon is observed more concretely through a tracking of the scientific and academic production on sectoral governance in the Yucatan Peninsula during the new millennium.

Studies on subsistence hunting in Mexico have been approached fromvarious disciplines and perspectives, developing more in the South-Southeastregion of the country, mainly due to its magnificent importanceand biocultural wealth. This article offers a general overview of thestudies on this activity in the South-Southeast region, with a specialfocus on works conducted within the context of protected natural areas, through an analysis that addresses the case of the Mam Maya ethnicgroup, located in the influence area of the Tacaná Volcano BiosphereReserve. The purpose of this review is to build a state-of-the-art thatwill be useful for future research, considering hunting as a significantactivity for indigenous and mestizo communities, encopassing its cultural, symbolic, social and ecological dimensions.

Current Over the past decades, the growth of cloud services as a paradigm has solidified its position in the telecommunications market. In particular, the use of Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) by content providers has become widespread. With an increasing global presence, the need for effective management of these services has become imperative. Consequently, numerous individual studies have been conducted to address different approaches to service management. However, an analysis of existing studies is necessary before developing new trends for superior network management. We conducted a systematic mapping study documenting cutting-edge empirical research on CDN service management and its components. The objective is to outline a roadmap for synthesizing documented empirical research. Existing research and literature have been reviewed through a systematic mapping study. Our study accounts for work dating from 2005 to 2025. The initial search retrieved 150 articles from digital libraries such as IEEE Xplore and ResearchGate, of which 43 were included in the study. A classification scheme was derived from the primary studies. The study demonstrates that CDN service management is an ongoing field of research. It is not a new concept, as it has been in use for over 20 years, and the number of publications is increasing, trending toward autonomic management with the integration of Artificial Intelligence. Our study helps highlight research areas that require further consideration.

Generative artificial intelligence has significantly transformed the teaching process in higher education regarding the roles of professors and students in teaching and learning methodologies. Its impact necessitates new approaches to strategically guide it toward more formative uses. The Telecommunications Networks profile of Plan E in the Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering program at CUJAE includes, among its objectives, problem-solving at the foundational level of the profession. A key element in developing professional competencies within this profile has been the troubleshooting during experimentation with telecommunication services. By leveraging generative artificial intelligence to support this aspect, the benefit of this technique as a teaching resource was demonstrated. Experiments were conducted with VoIP services using Asterisk and Linphone, as well as data storage services using Nextcloud, both deployed on virtual machines in VirtualBox. For troubleshooting, the generative AI tools Perplexity (paid version) and DeepSeek (free version) were employed. The study was applied to a sample of 20 teams of projects developed by teams of up to four students, each in the Telecommunications Networks II course of the Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering program at CUJAE during the 2024-2025 academic year. Index terms: troubleshooting, generative artificial inteligence, telecommunication networks.
